The concept for this channel came about in the fall of 2015. Writer, Director, Producer and Host, Jedidiah Knight, wanted to create a channel where he could share his passion for... well... LIFE, including the Wild West, Cowboy Action Shooting, NERF, Traveling, Firearms, Cars, Toys and MORE. JED iTV was born from that initial concept and, with the help of his many pards, Jed continues to bring an exciting, entertaining and informative RU-vid episode on a weekly basis! So, subscribe to stay involved!
My daughter is trying to decide between the .45 SASS and a regular .45 blue Vaquero with an SBH hammer installed. I have no idea if the SASS revolvers come slicked from the factory or just come with special grips, montado hammer, consecutive number matching, or anything else. Either way, the dealer in TX she's going to purchase from performs action jobs on all their pistols before selling them, and have options available for them. Some of the prices seem a bit high, but all guns come with action jobs. So we're going to research the inner differences between both revolvers. She already has a slicked up old Vaquero for real heavy loads.
Either set, “regular” New Vaqueros or SASS would server her well. I went with the SASS set because… well, “SASS” 🤠 It’s been such a big part of my life I wanted the special Rugers to commemorate that. Almost bought a set of the 45’s recently (mine are the .357’s) but thought about it too long and someone else bought ‘em.
@@JEDiTVshe'll probably go to purchase a couple blue Vaqueros 4.65 in. barrels in .45 Colt. She, and I wanted bright stainless, but her Delta Elite makes it hard to draw a good sight on the target. The caliber will match her Win. 92. She can't wait to get started in SASS. Keep up the good work making very informative videos. They're extremely helpful. If they only had all the types of revolvers and rifles when I was younger.
😆 It’s a requirement for the category. I won’t stay here (in the Frontiersman category) long but it’s how I started and I do plan on playing in it for a while.
Just sent off a set of Vaqueros to Gunfighter Industries in Oregon to be tuned and highly customized. They build some wicked fast revolvers, plan on SASS shooting them soon!
I recently saw one posted for sale (the kit). Try a Google search for “1022 Fun Gun” you might find somethin’ still for sale out there. I haven’t seen any schematics but maybe someone else will respond with a link…
I like that you call them “BATMAN” style 😎 They were custom made for me by a local craftsman. I told him I wanted something reminiscent of “flames” (like I’m shootin’ so fast I’m on fire). 🤠
Oh, that’s a vintage (made in the 1920’s) Dobbs. You can see my current hat collection here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-av-FokgLQN8.htmlsi=GtUSnKt7OC0rv5GW
Howdy, yes I use Black Powder and load all my own. It’s not a requirement to participate in the sport but there are specific categories for those of us that prefer to use that propellant type. Hope that info helps.
Great videos but, SASS is not growing it in fact is dying .The rule book is bigger and bigger, and interpeted many ways. The spotters and all over the board when counting hits and, misses .So making the stages more complicated just moves new shooters away. Costs are high to shoot. The average age is well over 60. IMHO The numbers do not lie This is DEATH BY A THOUSAND CUTS.
my great stage would have been great without a squib in every gun 18 misses in a state titals in australia still got 3rd in my category but would have been better without that
On one stage this spring, had problems with my Open Tops. Reset the headspace and didnt realize the wedge had fallen out. shot my barrel assembly down range!!!
❤😅 I really like the cooking show this will do. I’m gonna also am a professional chef but I’m also I don’t work for the one I am retired chef my first name is Dennis but I can’t but some of my friends cosmic day you can too if you want to.
Every stage at End of Trail 2024 would have been a great stage if all of my primers had gone off on the first strike. I shot the entire 10 stages clean but had sketchy primers in my pistols which all EVENTAULLY went off but some went around as many as 5 times before the bang! Got the clean match pin but was number 11 in the top 10! You can see the pain @poplecorque
How about February 7 , 2021 , stage 3 , that could have been a great stage except for not being able to hear the stage instructions , your stage 3 wasn't that great either. You should have both of those stages on film
Back in the day they probably never reholstered, drop the empty and draw the other loaded pistol. They had time to recover their pistol after the fight.
I certainly couldn’t find any historical documentation to confirm this (nor, necessarily, to deny it). I’d say it is a lot more likely that they didn’t carry 2 revolvers and, instead, found cover while they reloaded the one revolver they had. IF the shootout even lasted that long.
It is hard to beat one of my friends. He had made fatal error on last shot of last stage of our national cas championship few years ago and earned math DQ. Not the best day for him. 😢 But that would be a great math without that last fatal shot.
West match last there was this one stage and it would have been a great stage. I hit all the rifle target it was nice and smooth the shotgun transition was better than my usual, and the shotgun shells came out easily. I placed the shotgun safely on the stand without losing time and ran up to pistol targets, I grabbed my right hand revolver and pulled … and it didn’t come out. I pulled on it 3 times before I realized I had put the hammer thongs on my revolvers. It was a train wreck after that, but it was funny
"It was a great stage until..." is actually a _good_ thing. There are so many things that can go wrong that getting it down to just one or two is good progress. You're well on your way. Landscape and long form. I hate shorts. I actually _have_ an attention span. It's a _bit_ atrophied from modern life, but it still exists.
Thanks 😀 I’m not a big fan of shorts either, I’d like to retain my attention span that I’ve worked hard to cultivate. But, RU-vid sure does push ‘em out to viewers. I net considerably more views and subscribers on a short than on the long-form. But, I much prefer the long form content for the reasons stated in the video as well as that is sort-of on brand for me. Thanks again for the feedback.
Hey JedpIyTv how are you doing? I’m watching your videos and I like them very much back into. I would love to meet you in person if you come if you ever come just forever South Carolina to the Greenville cowboy action shooting but I would not know if you would come, and I can I will be your guest and I will like your guns and I do want the information about your clothes and your guns that you use the 45s and how I can get to make my own shells black powder or just buy the regular 45 shit shelf for home defense, I do have a permit to carry a firearm and I am giving you the thumbs up shows I like them all everyone of them I don’t give a rats behind what RU-vidrs are trying to do do you and someone older RU-vid can you try to some other they trying to screw your money it’s not right I wish there was a legal way that you could keepgoing course I am Dennis Fain
Howdy Dennis, thanks for the comment. I hope you’re finding the answers to all of your questions on my previous episodes. I’ve never been to South Carolina… but ya never know what the future holds.
Heck... I'm slow anyway. Having the squib from HE double hockey sticks today just made me a lot slower! It even got me off kilter for my next stage! It was still a great day though! ;-) Great video. Stages can't all go perfect. We'd have nothing to complain about! What would do then?
I sure do appreciate that. The Overlords have always had issues with those of us that focus on Firearms Content. Demolition Ranch just did a great video asking for clarification of RU-vid’s new firearms content policy. Worth a watch!
Long and wide!! Yes! More "could'a/would'a/should'a been a great stage." EVEN BETTER, get some other posse members to agree to be "featured", capturing actions and comments. Thank you for your hard work, and being a great CAS ambassador.
Thanks for the feedback! I will say it is difficult to film everyone on a posse, some folks just don’t care for the camera and some would likely rather not have their bad stages aired 😀 BUT, I will see what I can round up or what I may have in the archives.
At the Wisconsin state match this I was fumbled a lot shotgun shell. I went a shotgun belt I normally pull them from slides on my holster belt. I said it’s a lot of I wouldn’t for fumbling shells, I’d had a good stage.
