Yes Charlie and Tom, I remember Tom just starting out with Charlie and he was going through different hoddies every few months and people would say about Tom being boring or quiet but Tom was always on time and working hard I knew he was a good one. He reminded me of me. Hope he's on top dollar! Also Charlie please can you come and support @thetraditionalbricklayer 💪🙏💯🏴❤️
Working for major housebuilders through a subcontractor , they want to treat you as a cards in employee without any of the benefits, if self employment is so good, why aren't all of the office staff, site agents, contract managers self employed
@@Tone_Team all of the major housebuilders used to have cards in bricklayers along with scaffs, joiners painters, plasterers, and every other trade involved in housebuilding, and trained apprentices nothing like the dogs dinner that we have nowadays
Why do people feel the need to make derogatory comments about people. You must have a very low opinion of yourself. I’d really like to understand. People don’t understand golf, or football they aren’t on the internet calling them nerds.
Oh fuck me here we go. What the hell is wrong with people. Don’t like it jog on. I’d go in for £20 grands worth of tools, a trip to vegas and god knows what other sponsorships and opportunities. Why is it the British people hate on people
To be fair it’s a little bit inconsistent. If you look at NHBC standards all trays should have an upstand a minimum of 2 weeps so by that logic air bricks trays should be turned up and weep vents installed. Your never be told that’s wrong but you might if you don’t turn up and install weeps
I love laying a nice brick with nice mortar. People think a brick is just a brick but couldn’t be further from the truth! Hope Oz is all well and good, certainly beats the English weather
To be fair he thought the timer had gone! He had head phones in and crowd were cheering! He also had a problem with his corner blocks which cost him a couple of minutes
What kid in their right mind would want to work in construction these days?...stay well clear, and I say that as someone who got out at 40. Body shows all the effects of 25 years busting my ass on sites. Poor job security, working conditions, physical toll and decreased income all lead to the same conclusion. Regarding cleaning cavities, brickies get paid to lay bricks...get a labourer full-time on site whose only job is looking after cavity cleaning and general plot organisation.
You simply look at things the way they are and not how they could be. Almost every bricklayer or tradesman could retire a millionaire if they just used their trade in the most efficient way. I bet you are still swapping time for money, just not in construction. Just because you are swapping time for money in a different sector it does not mean you have made a better choice
Nice one Tony...Great atmosphere about the place, well done to all that took part , some good stalls there, only down side couldn't get a beer downstairs 😢
You've got to to say that Charlie is a Olympian layer, all the guys coming for his crown, under all that pressure of being the victor last year, once again prevailed to victory..!!i salute you Charlie..Top banana again...!! Sheesh son !! great respect!! And also huge respect to guy's running him close!! In all honesty these shows, skill challenge, speed freak's and just monsters in my industry makes me proud to be called a " brickie"....many thanks all..😁
It was very close this year! Charlie did lose 3/4 minutes through a problem with his corner block setup but it was still very close! Like you said, great effort from everyone! Next year should be bigger and better
