Mate, you are a f$kin inspiration! I won't dare tell you how many miles my longest rides are, let's just say I feel like a right soft twat now and intend to up my game. Cheers!!
I was kind of skeptical but after seeing this I'm sold lol. Planning on getting one, putting a surf rack on it to commute back & forth to the beach \ 17miles
More miles in one day than I have ridden a dirt bike in my whole life! :O Nice work! Next time I see a used Honda 300L for sale with 4000 miles, technically, it could be just 4 days old. lol
Why not call your job and ask for a extra day off rather than risk your life when driving such a long distance and time? Or you will get fired based on it is in USA?
you are crazy haha, well done. did you use stock tire or some others ? and how heigh are you ? i am planning 1100 km trip on highway and wondering about tires and using deflector.
omg nice vid i kept wondering did you do 80-90 mph all the time? i mean ill try to stay at 70 so the shift light wont turn on cause im scared i hurt the engine
Alright it’s set. I’m buying one I can’t wait until I get my next paycheck ! I have a 56 mile round trip to and back from work. So now I know it’ll be able to make it on the long stretch. Thanks for the vid. I shoulda got this instead of my previous bike the Suzuki drz400sm I probably wouldn’t have totaled it and my bones riding off road !
Nice job! Did the engine oil require a top off after a ride like that? I rode an NX650 from Seattle to Sandpoint ID and back and destroyed the engine because I didn't check the oil. High revs for long time = oil go bye bye. At least on an old air cooled semi-dry sump engine.
A lot of thoughts as I watch this through the entire way! 1. Reliability of a Honda, hands down a dependable bike 2. I'm glade you made the trek safely 3. The time it took to stop and get the good photos and video plus the trek, well done. 4. I wonder if you used higher octane, say 89 and 91 if you would have gotten better mileage. Good on what 87 nonetheless. 5. Baja pitstops for fuel refill give me an entirely better appreciation. 6. How sore the next day?? 7. What seat do you have to be able to go that long on this bike. Think that's about it. Nice job.
I'm looking over all I can about the 300L & then I found the Rally version which I like better. I'm currently saving but you are the first person of many videos I have watched who shows a long trip including the speeds you were traveling. Because of conflicting info around the speeds this bike can do on highways, I'm going to ask more about the upgrades to the engine or tell me if you did video on all the stuff you've done? I apologize, I'm super tired & will digg on thru your stuff after I sleep, but you're onto higher speeds than any others have reported & I've got to know b/c this is the last issue that will tip me into buying this bike over others. I've been researching 7-8 dual sports & this one is on my short list so you've just about single handedly sold me. TY for that be safe & peace
I'm watching your video sitting up on top of that Plateau that you have in your video I just set up camp for the night I'm sleeping in that same exact spot as I'm posting this I should have a video out in a couple weeks
Note to myself. Go to Utah, rent some CRF300L and guide and go explore that Mars-like nature. Absolutely stunning. I live in a heart of europe and I can only dream about this amount of free space to riding dualsports.
I just sold my Triumph Speed 400 and bought myself one of these. I literally had the triumph about 4 weeks. Wife isnt happy, but I dont care. This is the bike I NEED!
Outstanding video. Editing drone etc and Ofcourse what a journey. My question is at just under 1100 miles and 10 tank fill ups wouldn’t put your tank size at about 85 miles per fill up ? That’s seems like a low range on stock tank size ?
