I remember seeing a painted figurine of Goku like this. It was cell shaded almost way too well. It legit looked like a PNG until he started showing around the figurine.
You would need to put that behind glass immediately. Any dust would be criminal on that. I'm not even into figs but something that mind bending would be a full on art piece to display in the living room.
It's crazy that Bandai even tried to walk back stuff that's blatantly on the screen. The other stuff sure you can maybe dismiss but the sister-in-law part you probably won't get until after the fact when you find out about the keychain is 10000% proof xD They just dug their own grave with that one.
dude the raw, sheer understanding of the mechanics of light and shading necessary to apply this in a three-dimensional space, let alone the absurd precision needed to physically imprint these concepts into reality
100% The greatest part is we KNOW that high-end figure manufacturers are going to learn from this and create even better looking figures in the future, and I for one look forward to it!
This dude needs to get into stop motion. Can you imagine how confusing a stop motion anime made with his painted figures would be?! You'd definitely think you were watching an anime!
Cel shading, a technique commonly used in animation and video games to create a two-dimensional look, isn’t just for action figures. It’s also been adapted in the world of makeup and cosplay today 🙃
He definitely should make a profit where people can send in their figures that they wish had a repaint if it’s old or they don’t like the original paint job and have him repaint for a fee and you get it back in his style and how he chose to design it, he’d probably get a TON of offers and a bunch of money off of doing that alone from all kinds of figures/genres. ❤
