Eager Beaver is a great game to both play and admire for its artistic humor. Hopefully you can get it fully operational. I noticed that the kickback shooter lanes next to flippers never changed their value (between 50&100pts), does that only happen when the drop target bonus ladder value gets beyond 300 pts or some other value or were the indicator lites just not being lit up.?
Würde mich mal interessieren was sowas kostet. LG auch aus der Nähe von BS
It’s a brutal table! So many death shots! Those side drains are prolific. I love the old machines. They teach you that pinball can be so random whether you have a good or bad game.
Deshalb hab ich einen Kränzle Hochdruckreiniger gekauft da bekommste jedes Teil einzeln als Ersatzteil und da ist nur das Gehäuse aus Plaste der Rest ist Messing
Another wonderful video. Even near the end of his design career, Ted Zale games remained very good. Once he retired Bally games kind of lost their magic, although Space Time is pretty cool.
This is another game that I’ve never seen before and I really appreciate you sharing with us. I agree with you that it looks like it might not be as fun to play as a lot of other games, but that was pretty common with Bally games at the time. Certainly this was a clever game with all its bells and whistles, but what Bally did not bother with for too many years was the playability factor of their games. So even though this had some great things to do on the game, the bottom line is it doesn’t play very well. It appears. And the person doing the playing knows what he’s doing. He’s a good player. Bally would in a few years start making really fun games, but this was the nadir of their, creativity in my opinion. I agree with you about the tilt needs to be adjusted because this is a game that really needs some shaking up because it drains too easily on the sides. Great camera work we got to see the whole game! Thank you you are appreciated!
Sehr cool. Ich habe die Möglichkeit einen solchen vom Dachboden eines Bekannten zu bekommen. Keine Ahnung ob er noch funktioniert. Ansonsten landet er auf dem Schrott. Wäre eine Schande. Was meinst Du.
Hallo. Alles Gute!
And I want to commend you on the nice camera work! It makes it so much more fun to watch if you can see the whole game at the same time without moving the camera around. If you ever watch the tournaments, they never move the camera at all. I appreciate all the games that you share with us, and I think if those round bumpers at the top get a rebuild, they’ll be a lot more action up there. You do great work!
Hello. Thank you for your comment. Where are you writing from? Here in germany we have a lot of pinball shops. Rubbers etc. should be absolutely no problem. But what do you mean with "Top stickers"????
We don’t need close-ups of score reels we’ve seen those same times this is a wonderful game and thank you for sharing me with please. You’re filming it just show the play. We don’t really need to see the score. We’ve seen relles 1000 times.
It drives me crazy that there’s close-ups of the plunger while we’re missing the action. I like the sounds and I think this is a good game. But my goodness you’ve got to find somebody that can do better camera work. We’ve already seen the back glass. We’ve already seen the plunger. We’ve already seen the color, what we haven’t seen is how the game plays, which is the most important thing.
Love the 70's EM machines. This one isn't too bad. But, like a lot of those machines (especially Williams)... they weren't target-rich, played fast, and drained very quickly. While I absolutely love the backglass art of that period, more times than not... the playfield was not laid out well, and very boring to look at. Adding a gate, center post between the flippers, or a left lane kicker would have done wonders. No drop targets?! Very bland layout. If I were ever lucky enough to own an EM, I'd definitely be making some additions to this one. One of my favorites is "Out of Sight"". Lots of cool stuff. Thanks for uploading!
Hallo Got the same machine, currently repairing. Had is partially working, but now it is dead again. I do have a request, I found a bell in the game but there is no plunger and I can not find any lose wires neither. Would you be able to share some pictures of the bell? I saw some but it seems the bell is in under the game field. I my game the unconnected bell is in the back box.
Hello. Greetings from germany. Only a few hours and the german soccer team will battle against Switzerland! Yeah. Just a short answer! These old Williams EM Games hide a "Big Bell" (with coil and plunger) at the backside of the inside-cabinet. On the left side -and normally connected over one plug- you will find the Replay Knocker. The single bell without any wires in the backbox is triggered by the stepping "Match Number Unit" above. There has to be this special "plunger" which hits this bell each time the unit steps. Driven by the 1-Point-Relay. I don't know how it is in other countries - but in germany this plunger is being missed mostly. I think the operators could decide back in those days if they wanted it - or not. Mostly the pub owners in Germany HATED the loud noise of chimes and chime units and bells. So often the EM Games in germany do only have their "own" electromechanical "sound". Good luck for you to find the right solution!
1978 classic ❤ I was in 4th grade on one quarter turning the score over. It’s a easy game to play, just need good aim to hit targets and get that 20k locked and get the 5x multiplier done. That bunny 🐰 in the middle is tricky to hit. I wouldn’t hit directly into the middle but it would be fortunate for it not to go down the middle.
Hello TOmmyelectronic - If you still have the machine would you take a few pictures of the ball count step so i can see the srping layouts. I believe someone has added an extra spring to mine. Thank you.
Hello and thank you for asking. The Ball Count Unit on the Ground Panel only has two wiper fingers. If there is a third one there definitely is something wrong. But the best way to check it out by yourself is visiting the superb Internet Pinball Database were you can find the manual for this machine. There are drawn "pictures" of all of the units. Free Download. Check it out and ...good luck on your mission!
Very interesting! I noticed that the game motors run a little slower (the scoring rate). I assume the motors in the machine run slightly slower because of your 50Hz frequency vs. 60Hz in the States.
Never seen this before, wow hanover, where i used to live,i lived in listerplatz, cafe tabac was a good place to play pinball in the 70s n 80s wielen danke x
Hannover Newspaper from march 2019: Peter Mehner opened Café Tabac in 1978 on Ferdinand-Wallbrecht-Straße in der List as a student bar with French flair and lots of legitimate clouds of smoke. The owner wanted to bring a piece of French joie de vivre to Hanover with the bistro - a plan that worked for a long time. Now, after 41 years of catering business, the windows are covered with cardboard, containers are in front of the door and the distinctive entrance sign has already been removed. “Urgent renovation work” made a break necessary, it was initially stated on the restaurant’s website. It is now “permanently closed” and not only is a piece of French tradition coming to an end - Hannover is one institution poorer. That's what i found after reading your words! Greetings from germany!
