I really need to read some Elizabeth Goudge. My kids have read the Phantom Tollbooth I'm pretty sure, but I never have. It sounds delightful! I picked up Flower Fables at the Orchard House gift shop when we visited Concord last week, and I'm looking Forward to reading it.

I already had Phantom Tollbooth on my TBR, but all the quotes in this make me really want to get to it! Cymbeline is getting so big! Wow! I really enjoyed this, Emma. 🌸🌸🌸

I happen to be reading The Phantom Tollbooth right now (childhood favorite) and I still love it! I (still) think it's one of the greatest books written. So enjoyable for children and adults alike!

I remember enjoying The Little Bookroom when I read it as a child! Hope you get the Mary Stewart cover you're looking for--I had the same issue with a different book series having the same ISBN numbers but different cover designs and I was so pleased when I finally managed to complete my set!

Great review of the Phantom Tollbooth! It's such a great book and oddly not one you hear about often. I also love the sunrise orchestra but my favorite is the eating their words at dinner. I have read it no less than 25 times and always pick up something new.

I found a lovely little book at my library system's used bookstore that's called Nursery Rhymes of London Town by Eleanor Farjeon. The Little Bookroom looks delightful.

In honor of Alcott April I just finished reading Louisa May Alcott:A Personal Biography by Susan Cheever- I highly recommend this book to accompany any other Alcott reading you are doing- it is just splendid.

Ah this makes me want to reread Little White Horse so badly! I'm currently halfway through The Perilous Gard by Elizabeth Marie Pope (I believe on your recommendation) and am thoroughly enjoying it. I'm also using Praying With Jane: 31 Days Through the Prayers of Jane Austen by Rachel Dodge as my daily devotional for April, and can recommend it. Last month, I did the Anne Of Green Gables devotional (also by Dodge) and found so much encouragement from it. I plan on working my way through her Little Women and Secret Garden devotionals, too. Have a wonderful month full of peace and beauty, Emma 🌷

Thanks for the video! I loved The Phantom Tollbooth when I was a kid and read it 3 or 4 times. I'm looking forward to continuing Alcott April! My brother gifted me American Bloomsbury a few years ago and it is wonderful. Susan Cheever actually wrote a biography of Louisa May Alcott as well. Not sure if you have read it. I finished my re-read of The Inheritance and am now on to Great Expppurrtations , which I somehow missed reading when I was a kid. 😂. Thanks for the prompts, the Transcendentalists are some of my favorites. Any excuse to read them is enough for me. Happy reading.

I haven’t read Phantom Tollbooth since elementary school. I remember a teacher decorated their classroom door with that cover during reading month. Also, I have a random question. Could you do an Animal Crossing update video? I miss those videos.

I disagree. I'd rather spend the weekend at home doing nothing important rather than sitting shoulder to shoulder in the pews in my "Sunday Best". Going to church does not personally bring me joy.
