I didn't appreciate these nuggets when they were new, but I would love to own one today. Such a great compact hatchback that can be made very cool visually with basic mods. I daily my 97 corolla G6, which is nice too but it's no Micra EDIT: the bumber intake is especially inspired
This Project rocks! You can check if its a fuel problem by checking the duty cycle of the injectors, if they cap at max on your highest point and then your afr keeps going to poor, then its a problem of the injectors! bigger injectors or more pressure!
Ye, the duty cycle was getting fairly high, I've installed bigger injectors, which you'll see in the next episode, and it almost fixed the problem. I think only the fuel map needs to be fixed now.
@@the_mintiest_micra Check duty cycle again, to see if the new injectors manage to keep up or are topping up, of its fuel map problem you will see a lean mixture but a duty cycle under 80/90%
DIY builds are some of my most favourite to watch. they're raw and mostly basic videoing, dont have multimillion pound budgets so you link to the people and you have to think of fancy solutions Unrelated the clip you show with the 11psi of boost, I'm not sure if that's current but you might want to find something to stabiliser the turbo from bouncing around. Vibration isn't good
Thanks mate, happy to hear. As for the turbo moving around so much, I think it may be down to the engine mounts having gone super soft over the years. The whole engine moves around when letting off the clutch or downshifting🤣
I'm about to slap together 1 more CG13 before I do the K swap (went with gizfabs kit) also doing a QG18 into another one but interested to see how the double head gasket goes on yours, if it holds in there I might do the same on the last build for a laugh. (Cracked a ringland on the last motor at 15psi with too much timing.)
Damn, sorry to hear. I definitely wont be going for that much boost simply for reliability. Headgaskets are fine for now but haven't gotten a change to really puah the car yet. I did hear bad thongs could happen. Guess I'll wait and see.👍
I recommend you do a continuous bead of weld around that piece of stainless, just to make sure you don't have a boost leak. Nice job on the intercooler, it looks factory

If your gonna be running 150kpa id personally do a table upto 180 just incase overboost should occur i did this with my turbo vitara as on my base map i ran 134kpa but had a boost cut at 150 where it shut everything down
Yesss new long video, I was thinking of modifying the bonnet (basically make the whole front of the bonnet one whole thing instead of the moustache look) and dedicate a section for the turbo, that way, the intake sits higher and you could possibly get more air into the turbo, I don’t own a Micra K11 yet and it’s been a hot minute (11 years) of being near one lmao, just my idea though

Mate. As a painter by trade who was responsible for the finishing touches on panelbeaters repairs like this, I’ve got to say this is really impressive. You’re young and you’re doing it on your driveway. Most guys your age will do an oil change or paint brake calipers at most on the driveway. Really depends on where you're based, theres a lot of online websites that have them. The name of the adapter I used is in the description, I got mine from DriftShop.
Ye it's really nice, only issue i didn't realise before buying it is that the mounting holes aren't in the actual cenre of the wheel so it's a bit offset and weird turning it lock to lock. But it's not a drift car, so I dont mind🤣

@danielpicazo5722 The springs I used are for a Nissan Almera N16, a heavier car, so I assume cutting a few coils shouldn't be too bad as the springs are stiffer than the stock ones. Haven't had any issues so far.
I used 1.5 inch pipes for the manifold and 2.5 for the rest of the exhaust. I definitely wouldn't use 2.5 if i were to do it again as it's simply too big for a 1.0l engine. Maybe 2 inch or 2.25 at most would be better.
@@the_mintiest_micra It turns out that you used 63 pipes in Russia, changes are made in millimeters! I plan to make a 60mm exhaust on a Japanese kakimoto can for 1.4mt! You have a beautiful bumper. I want to set one for myself too!
Do you have a wiring diagram? I've got a 1.4 but I hope it's not too different from the 1.0 coilpack engine. I was looking at the MegaMicra videos but the wiring is a bit confusing

The driver side one still has some fibreglass filler that I haven't sanded and painted properly yet, so it isn't rust, I hope that's the one you noticed.🤣
I'll be taking care of the turbo charge pipes in the next episode of the turbo series, also fuel system upgrades, brakes, boost and oil pressure gauges and some other small bits soon.

Great channel, you explained very easy and make a lot of part by yourself! I want to ask you an advice, do you remove OVRV connection from motor to air box in a standard motor? (Clean and fresh air, instead of recycled dirt air) but i think that create a random pressure inside airbox..what do you all think? Thank you from an Italian follower😂
@ALEXDe83-l9v Thank you! The intake set up is temporary as I'll be setting up piping for the turbo soon. I don’t know if it makes much difference with the open inlet but I'd put a breather filter on the cam cover for sure if you take it off.👍
@@the_mintiest_micra Your height is determined by adjusting the spring. Can’t shorten or lengthen the damper like other coilovers. Its fine what you did, as long as theres preload on the spring. If you wanted to raise the car, your spring might rattle. Thats where the helper spring comes in.
