Making a custom, DIY, wraparound spoiler for my K11 Micra out of a sheet of steel. Starting with a cardboard template, followed by cutting it out of steel, welding it, test fitting it, and finishing it off with a few coats of primer, paint, and clear coat.

It's fun to see actual DIY stuff on a car. I think this has much more character than a bolt-on spoiler.

Looks very functional - will definitely have some effect on Aero (Tear drop) , maybe reduce drag at higher speeds ... dont increase the angle

Could have used body filler to cover the grinding marks. As for turbo I see a full kit with the snail on eBay

Well the steel is thick enough. Break out the Fiberglass reinforced Bondo and sand all the imperfections out and use a high-fill primer. She'll look good in the end. I like what you're going with look-wise. Keep going.

might want to replace that radiator as it seems it has degraded, either go with a aftermarket option or go with a 1.3 n-cvt model radiator as those are thicker then the manuel radiators and will provide better cooling over the stock manuel radiator

also the dutch sri and SE micra's have the wraparound wing, although these have clips on the wing so they can slide out of the stock boot so the wraparound boot lids have weird plastic clip holders in them so when you remove the wing and replace it with a aftermarket wing it looks really bad because of the clip holders :( one of the reasons i went with a 1.3 ac model as it just has the regular wing. plus i have ac :) and central locking plus the optional CL remote module from a scrap SE model

Ye, it's definitely seen better days. I'll probably replace it eventually, and yes, I did look on the forums, and the ncvt one is the one I'll probably go for as it's a straight fit.👍

@@momfiethehunter504can you not remove the plastic clips? Im dutch and ive got a model with the wrap-around spoiler, and id love to be able to install the gizfab wing or diy one myself

I've added a photo of the cardboard templete I used to this folder. It is symmetrical but I dont have a measurment for the curved edge. I'd reccomend making a cardboard sample first to see how it would fit and look. drive.google.com/drive/folders/1sMXWFNbacu4s6lRROVLald5OXcpG3aZw

Was originally considering making it out of fibreglass but settled for this as it was easier. But yes, I could use this as a template now, so maybe I'll give fibreglass a go eventually.👍

I love the channel and really appreciate your style of videos. But, one this one occasion I have to say, don't do that. If a cyclist or motorcyclist crashes into the back of the Micra, the result will be very, very, very bad. And legally, you're so shot it's not true. Please, don't leave that on.
