You have to be very careful about using cork kind of gaskets. Right now ive beeing using it in my 2zz four about 2 years but at the begining i lost a lot of oil and i almost kill the engine due a big unexpected oil leak. You need to retorque your oil pan bolts in this kind of gaskets after an engine warming up and recheck and retorque every often. A mechanic told me that this kind of gaskets were very common in older cars and there is a product that i forgotten the name that you apply to them and helps avoid oil leaks.
Basically it shakes a lot during idle and it starts to sound like a misfire but when I plug the obd2 it shows me ignition coils #2 is working properly but I changed it and yet nothing it only stops if I disconnect the maf and clean the pvc valve and reconnect the battery. I’m assuming it’s a vacuum leak because there was a hose that was toasted. Please let me know. If you have email I can send videos just tryna get help yk
Me deciding interior or exterior first when it's freezing: Heads Interior, Tails Exterior. "Hey Siri, flip a coin" Siri: "It's Tails.' "...Flip again."
Nice fix! Mine came off while I was installing my new headunit, so I just decided to mount the microphone that came with it in the cubbyspace and leave it alone :P
What is you installed 2 or 3 way speakers in the door panel but you also had stock tweeters ? How do you by pass the tweeters? Too much trebel otherwise
This makes the to do list. Tip for future use: Scratch Home Depot. ACE Hardware has nut bolt & fastener draws where you can but 1 of what you need and not be forced into a pack of 20. They also have bins loaded with every exterior & interior body & panel clip you need. Just bring in one to match the one you need, and again, you can buy only what you need for pennies and not be hosed by dealer, amazon & eBay prices. Dealers are brutal, they hit me $2.17 each for two interior clips that are $0.17 each at ACE! ACE is the place, not Advance, Autozone, NAPA or O'Reilly either.
OH darn! Too late - you ordered the clock. All you needed to do is reheat the pot welds. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tfGE4AeTQCE.html&pp=ygUXMjAwNSBjb3JvbGxhIGNsb2NrIGZpeCA%3D
Sub'd & liked b/c this is the 2nd vid you've done I'm very interested in doing, so much so I drove 84-miles one-way to the dealer that serendipitously has the console lid upgrade you installed. It'll be in tomorrow, so I go back to see if it will actually match/fit in my 2004S ((bought new in Oct of 03)) b/c they say it's for XR & XRS Models only, but pictures of the interior looks identical for fitment - I'll know tomorrow and have you to thank. I just replaced the Front L & R window channels, I'll probably treat the car to these Visors too as the OEM accessories are no longer available. TIP: Get a can of WD40 SILICONE SPRAY and hit those window channels - your window motors will thank you! BTW: Maybe you know this already, but the odometer in 9th Gen Corolla/Matrix, & other Toyota models from those years, stops at 299,999-miles. I just found out this April, and now track miles using TRIP ODO 1 between gas ups and an excel spreadsheet. I'm at 306K now. I could go on and on about my ride, but I'll surf what other gems you got - so far its 2 for 2!! Thanks pal.
Found it! Pick it up tomorrow - from a dealer who put it on eBay - drove 84-miles to find out "it'll be here tomorrow". Just watched this again - it's gotta fit - even if they advertised it was for XR & XRS Models only.
Hey man I'm dealing with a lean condition as well (+40 LT fuel trim) I grabbed some injectors and a guy who tunes celicas says that the ecu will eventually revert back to the lean condition over time. How has yours held up? Still running slightly rich?
5:33 Its colder because it doesnt combust properly. If you take it to the extreme and run with super mega rich mixture, you´ll find out that your engine never heats up because barely anything burns properly. There will be a ton of smoke, some backfire, and almost no heat or power. My MR2 with 1ZZ has some issue probably with the pressure regulator or something, because despite having a short term fuel trim around 0% (-2% to +2%), the long term fuel trim is -40% on both banks (super rich). I have already replaced all the spark plugs and injectors, which stopped all the misfires, but its still rich, so it´s likely gonna be the pressure regulator.
4:25 I bought an MR2 Spyder with original 1ZZ engine. However it had serious misfires and I found out that one spark plug is very much fouled. It looked like injector issue, so I bought a set of new ones. They came already equipped with an orange o-ring that physically looked to be just fine. I´ve installed them, and took the car for a test ride (about 1km around the scarcely used roads in an industrial district close to my home), and when I returned, I found my engine completely flooded with a boiling gasoline absolutely everywhere. I was so lucky that I didnt burn my car down. I immediately bought an original set of o-rings (sadly they only come in a package of 20 pieces here in Czech Rep.), then I put those to the injectors (the originals are noticeably softer and more flexible), and the leak immediately disappeared. NEVER TRUST AN O-RING THAT YOU HAVEN´T BOUGHT AND INSTALLED YOURSELF!
