I’m a relative of Capt. John Parker, direct descendant of Amos Parker who was the tallest man in the American Revolution, saved Lafayettes life at the battle of Yorktown.
As usual, love the history and that accent! 😂 Bunker Hill Climb Add in war Adrenalin, Gender and Age. To the Patriots, the hill was welcomed as an advantage point and not an obstruction. 🙂 Hit the road and come visit South Carolina and Virginia. Not as concentrated but much to share.
Just discovered Katie. Even though I am British (Scots) I love Katie's presentation, enthusiasm and knowledge. And oh, that accent, dreamy. So as someone fairly new to the history of The War of Independence could anyone recommend a well written, not too partisan book that details the events of the war. Many thanks.
So glad I found this video! Both Capt. Isaac Davis and Abner Hosmer are my 1st cousins! My family has deep roots in MA, going back to the Mayflower and the Great Migration. Many of my ancestors answered the call starting on April 19 1775. I'm very proud and deeply grateful for their sacrifices and service, either by military service or just helping the cause, they all contributed to our country's fight for freedom and liberty. Let's keep it alive!
You should also be aware that two of the British who fought and were killed at the Jason Russell house are buried near the stone wall in the rear of the burial ground.
I am British, I know, I know, boo, hiss😅 I have only recently discovered Katies channel and I absolutely love it. Being Scottish my main interest over the years has centered on the history of my own clan and more recently the Border Reivers. Inexplicably the Revolutionary War is not taught to any great depth in Britain, which is a great shame. I recently decided to look in more depth at the War of Independence and decided to get an overview before committing to more in depth literature, so I thought I would give Katie a go. So far it has been fascinating, it is like having my own travel guide. And oh my lord, that accent, I could listen to her all day long.
Katie. I checked & Hanna is in the Samuel Jones plot ( near the road) with a large well marked stone. BTW there are many stories about her & her life with both Isaac & Sam. Pretty wild stuff in her life. Tom
