I tried reading this when I was like 12, never finished it though. I never liked spending my free time on mormon stuff lol. I had already read an Orson Scott Card scifi series by then that was not so loosely based on the BoM. Much more interesting if I'm going to be reading about mormon stuff. That one was weird cause Zoram (or whoever was based off him) turned out to be gay but he forced himself to impregnate his wife anyway cause he was the only male there not part of Lehi's family. For the discussion about how to "be yourself" around 11:35 -- I think you're already on the right track. I've been focused on healing directly since about 2019. Directly, meaning actually studying trauma-focused literature, finding a gifted somatic therapist (who I've now seen weekly for 2.5 years running), intentional use of psychedelics, and so much more. I left the church in 2007, but I see now I've always been trying to figure out how to heal. I just didn't know how to even do it in a more direct way until about 2019. It's not any one thing, but rather, I see it more like learning a skill that requires mastery. Like ballet, violin, jazz piano, becoming a master mechanic, and so on. You're into the rubik's cube of your own personality, twisting things and then examining again, and asking with each move, "is this me?", "Is this who I am?". Every part of a personality is like that in healing. Am I funny because I just want attention? Or does my comedy actually ease tension and bring sunlight into the lives of people around me? To heal, I believe it's a work of mastery. So that means balancing things little by little, and maybe cooking that dish not once but many, many ... many times. Little less salt, little more heat, accidentally discovering some things (luck), and so on. Getting down into each fiber and pulling them apart to say "this is definitely me, and that is probably not so much me." Not as an obsessive, scratching, or over-focused action, but rather -- it takes on such a gentle tone. Like an archaeologist who is careful and deliberate with an object as it's brushed and lifted from the earth. I have found that, as that knowledge starts to compound and build with a gentle but day-in-day-out effort, I actually DO HAVE a solid ME in there. I can lean into it too! THAT is this magic thing called confidence and high self esteem. And that is why it looked like absolute wizardry to me before when others "had it" and I definitely DID NOT (adolescence, big ouch). Because someone's personal confidence is like asking a master how they "do it". Maybe they could tell you, but even so, you'd have to travel that path to know your own version. And it will be uniquely your own, which is the whole beauty of the thing. Somatic, or feeling type therapies I think are key too. Because this is just a typed comment that the intellect will take in, and that's part of the big healing recipe, but modeling the lost unconditional love that "good enough" parents or leaders etc., should give has to be felt in the skin and muscles and nerves. Much of that work can't even be put into characters on a screen. Sounds like you do know that also, so I say, keep going. Like mastery, if you can keep trotting along and keep that sharp but also kind focus, I see promise in that. I am so much more full of life than I ever have been. Past me wouldn't hardly recognize now-me. Healing is so complete that even my facial muscles seem to lay differently. More open, inviting, and attractive, in a way that I believe touches that spark that makes us alive. I think you're on the right track in pulling these details apart, and I hope you keep finding solid answers you can lean on for your own deeply personal use, that is, to use your own personality how it was made to be used, with confidence!
The thing about the nature nurture thing is it actually isn't important regarding homosexuality because there's no issue with it. The only people it bothers are homophobes. Let's study stuff like schizophrenia, that actually causes people real grief.
This kid read the entire Talmud at 13? It takes over 7 years to read it when reading a certain amount a day (the Daf Yomi cycle). It’s nearly 3000 pages. I mean I guess it’s possible but damn.
For me the biggest trigger for bread and processed foods is soy lecithin and guar gum. Eggs, dairy, sausage, bacon, ham, deli meat, and jerky are also triggers. After having gut issues my entire life, I finally fixed it with a low histamine diet and anti-histamines. I did not know histamine intolerance was a thing. My headaches, brain fog, dizziness, fatigue, insomnia, and gut issues went away almost immediately. My sinuses and acne are slowly getting better. Oxalates may also cause gut, skin, and kidney issues and I decreased that first but it did not completely solve my issues.
I am also a Whitney apologist! I identify the most with her and seeing the hate directed her way I’m starting to understand why I didn’t fit in too well with the Utah Mormons I grew up around or current active family members. Apparently there’s something intrinsically villainous about me 😂🙂↔️ being queer, neurodivergent, a poc and having interpersonal cptsd in a very homogenous part of Utah probably didn’t help but who knows 😂

She said she doesn’t let “ anti-Mormon” people affect her because it’s all lies and doesn’t represent the church. It was so funny reading that and also so sad because she’s raising her kids in the Mormon church. She won’t even open her mind.
I always hated that even the smallest “sin” like spending too much time alone with the opposite sex could open a hole in your testimony that Satan could slither into. Now he’s able to lead you to sin more and more and more until you are an alcoholic sex deviant with no testimony at all.

I went on a mission (and even served as an AP) so i can speak however i’d like to about MY experience. And please don’t tell me it’s disrespectful to say “mormon.” The church literally encouraged me to create an “im a mormon” account for the church’s mormons.org website just before making the movie “meet the mormons.” if saying “mormon” is a win for satan, then satan has had no better followers than the mormon prophets themselves who proudly embraced the term.
We as LDS actually believe that we should be as good as we can be but no one is perfect so we know its ok not to be perfect. Jesus is the only one who was and can be perfect.

Paddington's a phenomenal mascot for the UK. He's a good hearted immigrant who's struggling to assimilate and doing his best. I'm nearly 46 years old and from Los Angeles. I don't know a lot about the character but I listened to the UNSPOOLED podcast on a Paddington film. Got me a bit emotional.
What I think is there is a hierarchy of values of what matters most, and as we are flawed and stunted by our lower natures, just as in sporting events, you can go 0-12 from the field but if you make the game winning shot, you had a perfect game

Also do you supplement b12 & algae omega 3 and all the stuff you would need to eat if you weren’t starving yourself of essential nutrients to make some sort of point about how you love nature by literally rejecting your nature and refusing to accept the reality that humans majority of the time need animal products to live as I already stated a second ago
This is satire and yes I take B12 and flax seed oil lol. Humans were mostly plant eaters for most of their evolution, contrary to what a lot of us were taught.
