Your spot on Adam. I attended there as a freshman back in 2014. Always had a worried feeling with the homeless people the further i got away from campus especially around people's park. Weather wise yes its a drastic change...i never knew it xould rain that much in a week and not see the sun at all. But yeah i cant imagine paying 15 bucks for a Chipotle burrito there on telegraph when i payed like 8 bucks for it..

What were the classes you were taking at San Marcos that didn't transfer over to the UC's? About two days ago I went to Fullerton College and spoke to the counselor regarding if the classes I'm taking at CSUF would transfer over to the UC's. We spoke and she couldn't match my (EGCE) Civil Engineering Major class with any from the community college. This kind of left me confused and wondered if I just did that class for nothing lol, I'm assuming this class wont transfer over. Not sure. Im assuming this is what happened to you as well? maybe?

@@adamramirez1 How did online make it easy, outside of not having to spend time getting to class? I felt it was a bit harder than my in person classes because I couldn't ask questions very easily, sometimes it'd take a couple days to get an answer and half the time it was curt and unhelpful lol. 0 class participation so have yet to get any answers from students in the forms online either.

It’s easier if you transfer from community college. If you do the csu to csu route it depends because they all have different acceptance rates. Ex: sdsu and cal poly slo will be extremely difficult to get into but csula is a decent chance.

The thing that keeps me (27) from drinking is sleep becoming a top priority in my life. I am a professional sleeper first and foremost. Even without alcohol, late nights out with the boys wrecks sleep. Chasing superficial highs at the cost of the future just isn't it. It squanders the gift of life.

I’m glad there’s a shift in societies standards for the younger generations. I’m 32, I was subjected to a lot of night outs and drinking while I was studying with my fellow classmates. I’m introverted, and I live in a country that rewards and celebrates extroverts. Drinking was my way of being socially acceptable to the majority, for a few hours. There are so many cons to drinking: being a vulnerable target to getting your drink spiked/getting raped/harassed, spending money on overpriced drinks and club entry fees, dressing in uncomfortable clothing/shoes to adhere to a clubs dress code (we had to wear heels in my day, we had no choice and we couldn’t wear jeans or any clothes with holes in it either. No casual sports clothes either.) You also risk getting hurt and injured from fights or just clumsiness from wearing heels and being intoxicated, the hangovers sucked. Spending more money on overpriced cab rides to get there and back home sucked.

I’m 26 and I’ve never touched a drop of alcohol despite all my friends drinking since they were young teens, it’s just never interested me and never will tbh. There are people that I no longer talk to because I didn’t go on nights out with them so they didn’t see me as much of a friend as people that did, but that’s a sacrifice you have to be willing to make. I don’t regret not drinking because I stuck to what I felt was right for me. Live the way you want, it’s your life not theirs. And if people don’t want to hang out anymore because you don’t drink then they weren’t your friends to begin with. Move on and find new friends that like you for you and don’t just see you as a drinking buddy.

Hey Adam, thanks for sharing. If your body is telling you that alcohol is causing mental fogginess, physical fatigue then don’t drink alcohol. Listen to your body. Don’t limit time with friends because of this, just order a ginger ale or soda. Just say you’re not feeling well enough to have shots. People will accept it and leave you alone. I experienced the same with pot smoking in high school. I was bullied but then everyone knew that I didn’t like the effects. Don’t be afraid to be a leader! We need more ppl like you to start a healthy trend!!! Congratulations on realizing this at a young age.

I took most of my classes at the University, however there were a few general classes that I took at a CC for convenience to lighten my load senior year. Let me tell you, most of those CC classes were harder than my University classes!!!! I went in with a bias because I always assumed CC classes were less rigorous. I was all the way wrong, lol! Now as a parent I make all of my kids start off at CC because it’s far more economical and I never want my kids to come out of college in debt like I did. Not when I know the curriculum is equivalent. $300 for Literature vs $3,000+ ??? Ummmm yes please!

My experience may be anecdotal but I do full-time photo and video for a large university. Working in a corporate environment has provided me stability and benefits that other photographers and videographers could only dream of. Not only that, but I get to work 3 days a week from home and the work is very predictable in terms of deadlines and the busy times of the year. Corporate life may not be the most fulfilling in terms of personal impact, but if your goal is to be financially stable. I don't see the reason to look down upon others who settle for a corporate job.

Hi Adam, first of all congratulations on all your hard work that's brought you to where you are now. I think I've been watching you for like 2 years and it's so cool to see all you've done :). This might be a very odd suggestion to you but have you ever tried Jesus, and no I'm not kidding. Regardless of whether you believe in a higher power or not, I would encourage you to pray for Him to be a part of your life and show you His truth. It might sound silly but if you are sincere, He'll do it. Everyday with Him (whether you are working a regular 9 to 5 or the coolest job in the world) will be an adventure in and of itself and trust me you'll never get bored. Just try it :), a lot of times we only turn to God when we experience something tragic but it doesn't have to be that way.

Then don't lol. There's literally more ways than ever before to be successful while not having to work a 9-5, especially considering that you have access to the internet. 90% of Americans have no self marketable talent whatsoever, blow the majority of their paycheck on a car worth most of their annual income, cope shopping, credit cards, going out to eat, and dating useless whores. Most of them get wrapped up with one if not all of those examples as soon as they're out of highschool. 9-5's are a blessing, however its about the decisions you make with your money, and what you do with the other 128 hours in the week aside from the 40 hours spent at work.

If you decide to jump ships voluntarily at any point in your career, which you should every 3-5 years, do not make a decision solely because management is bad.
