Hi and thanks for stopping by, I like to try and create original content or provide reviews on items that haven't already been covered by a 100 other channels. I very much appreciate youtube as an environment to share information and as a place to go to research projects or ideas. To that end you will find my channel has lots of how to videos or information on items that I think will be helpful to others. Of course some of the content is just because I enjoy the process too. As a work in progress, I look forward to making improving my content and skills as a contributor to youtube. Thanks for taking the time to swing by. If you would like me to review an item on my channel, please feel free to get in touch via the email address under ' For business inquiries' below.
Looking forward to seeing the new camper. Based on the way you test gear, I’m sure you have investigated it thoroughly and given due consideration before taking the plunge and purchasing it Cheers
That's exactly what I put them on for. ok maybe not exactly but they certainly give me confidence to head down trails littered with branches knowing those loud bangs arent anything to worry about.
@@DENMONKEY All good. You're exactly right, that's why we add these protections. Mission accomplished. That my accusation got a rise and response... mission accomplished 🤣🤣🤣
Cool video Really like your truck, it’s world class and I love the turbo flutter sounds it makes. Did you upgrade your turbo! If so what did you get. Nice to see you go hard on the tracks and don’t pussy foot it. You’ve seen me Pajero videos haven’t you?
its a garret tdx. with the tune as well, its a different car to drive. I do love having a go and the pajero is yet to not make it up anything I point it at. More flex would be nice but I'm confident in its abilities. I was thinking about hard pipes like yours too. you have beautiful scenery there
Apparently not. Due to the type of metal Kaon have used and their design they are light yet extremely tough. Many people have them in the Prado community and swear by them. 🍺
I think Some of the Kaon bash plates are made from StrenX, which has a higher yield strength than mild steel and is lighter. Not sure about the Pajero’s though
Were those 3mm or 4mm Boos? I've had 4mm Boos for a while and just ordered the RHS to save some weight and also hopefully get some better airflow to the intercooler... The Kaon ones look great and I nearly bought them...
3mm but the fuel tank one was 4mm i think . i had to go back and check the video . the kayon intercooler also has wings. I missed that in the video . those RHS are a nice bit of kit though
ah, I'm not as stupid as I look. It wouldnt fit under the carport once up on the ramps with the cb antenna on the front. I know...i looked :) so I could either get it under but not on the ramps or ramps and get wet. the water runs under the carport from the backyard anyway., so no winning really.
We know you love the Mud Brett, stop pretending you don't lmfao. Also you are more than a little bit different lmfao. Kaon ones do look pretty good, I thought about them but ended up going the BushSkinz as I like their looks more. Lucky you didn't snap any of those old bolts when removing them. I snapped one of mine holding the front plate on. Pain in the rear and meant I had to re-tap the damn holes. I do like that the Kaons are recessed into the plate rather than exposed bolt heads.
That rivnut got me 4 years or so I think of punishment. hope this one does the same. although I think I might back off the harder stuff and do more touring with the new camper when I get it.
im really ater a decent cooktop and this looked great until it wants your phone to link up with it ...seriously im glad i dont have much longer to live becasue i swear in a few years time we will have to register each sheet of dunny paper before we use it and fill in a form saying what we had for dinner yesterday.
@@DENMONKEY i think im just gonna stick with fire cooking or tiny gas burner cooking or use my trangia ... am looking at one of those collapsible cookpots for maybe rice pastas soups .. i just ordered one of those allpower power station thingys and im just not technical enough to bother with all the math or study on voltage wats apps etc. I wish there where more aussie reviews on simple easy to use compact items we can use with the power stations while camping or just travelling... with products we can actually purchase here...so many chanels with so much gear u cant even get shipped here or the shipping price is outrageous....
Regarding feedback when on phone -- It is a phone problem not your head unit because my phone and others that I know of have done feedback even when NOT connected to anything ! -- I am "told" it is to do with the carrier picking you up on two towers simultaneously
Thank you my Friend, what an amazing review of the Tokit unit!!! I just got mine today shipped from China (about 2 weeks) $120 free shipping. This is for sure the MackBook Air of Induction Cookers! Thanks Again 👍👍👍
100Ah or 100 Amp hour refers to storage capacity not drawing capacity. Most of these cheap batteries are only rated to draw 50 amps continuously. Thank you for covering these issues with cable sizing and continuous draw, people need to do a check over on all this gear before putting loads on it
Hi, Your videos are very nice and Your content ideas are great. You already have 14.9k subscribers which is a big number. But the engagement in your videos is much lower due to which your videos are not going in front of your targeted audience and lose most of viewers and video rank. So, if you want to solve this problem get organic views and subscriptions daily. Then surely organically. I can help you. Can I share solutions?
“We’ve all heard lots of stories about Kings electronics and stuff catching fire…” at 8:43 and numerous petty little gripes and generalisations. Even calls Kings customers mentally defective drug users and on the piss…. at 15:12. This is as bad as these online time wasters get.
If you've not heard of the issues with some kings gear failing, causing fires in community groups or social media groups and seen the pictures as proof you're not looking very hard. With regards to kings customers and drug and alcohol consumption, it's warning in kings own documentation supplied with the unit. The reason these things get added to manuals as warnings is because it has happened enough times to warrant a warning to be included. you will note i included myself in that demographic as part comment. It's merely an observation of the type of activities many campers enjoy and is not limited to kings users only. If you think my concerns are unwarranted, feel free to watch part 2 where I test the unit and you can see the outcomes for yourself. If you can't see why this information could be valuable to some users, I guess you might see it as time wasting.
Great video, I'd be still swapping out those cables after getting them that hot, that cheap rubber coating can melt into the copper strands and cause more resistance & issues down the track.
Great review, you echoed my thoughts on their performance exactly having just upgraded(only just) myself to these from previous Lightforce LED215SD light purchased in 2018. The Beast lights are better, but I don't think I would of bought them if I could of tried them first. I only run them in beast mode (as this is the default if you use a standard heavy duty harness, my Beasts pull 26.6amps @ 13.93volts) and I feel they don't project any further down the road then the LED215SD (which are very good already), the Beasts do spread the light wider and more evenly, which is more important to me. The colour temp of the Beasts are whiter and as a result more gentler on the eyes from the road sign reflections. I also thought the mounting system appeared to be a step backward from the previous big stainless brackets of the LED215SD's, time will tell with this one. Overall I was expecting more from the $1200 cost to upgrade... If I had no spots previously they may worth the investment from the quality, warranty and Australian made perspective. I was also disappointed that Lightforce don't have the install instructions on the their website, presumably to make you think you need to buy their harness to make them work,(which you do if you want to switch modes, however I don't), full power to all of the light all of the time is what I want when they are on. On a side note the still perfectly good 6 year old LED215SD's can now go on the second car. Cheers.
Would love to see a review of the Bluetti AC180 for extra power which i am thinking of getting to run Brass Monkey 30ltr Fridge and a Phillips Dream Station CPAP Machine (without humidifyer)for trips away. Portable Solar Panels would be a possible addition later but not sure. Not normally sitting around campsite to get the better input from the panels and driving around won't give me much from the cig charger. Only have an SUV so love the portability of these units but unsure of what's left after running the above products and any advice would be appreciated. Love the video's, keep them coming
Hi! If my power station has Anderson charging characteristics 18-30 Wt 8A max, is this solar panel Ok with power 11A to my station? Or 8A and 11A is crucial and will damage station or panel ?
As much as would love to support Australian companies, it's the price thing. Had my king's 9inch spotties and 42inch light bar on full noise last night heading to my camping destination. They work great and clearly see Skippy on side of the road. Had them for over 6 year's. Oh and happy 50th birthday 🎂
Mate you are a fuc……. ING legend, I did exactly the same thing that you said in your video and the car change and really big change mate. I love you !!!!
Thanks Brett for the review. Bluetti suggestion: An in built Anderson plug connector as per Companion Battery packs and to suit there myriad of Anderson connectors we all use would be ace!!! I carry a stick of the 50amp and 20amp Anderson fittings in case of cable issues also helps if I come across someone in need. I also run smaller battery packs as I my car is a daily driver and although I have thought about adding a permanent camp/accessory 12 volt system the added weight over the addition is hard for me take the dive. Yes I reckon having a system that is a back power supply in the house works better for me. Anyways, it appears the Bluetti is a winner from seeing what the solar panel can put out in combination (yep scrubbed the section where we see the current in), on my shopping list for the next trip. Keep up the content, cheers Gaz.
I did with the cook top. For consistent loads I can push it to 1100w. Yet it handled the 1300w of the air fryer but that's not a constant load. I've also got the little vango 800w induction cooker which was no problem. I just used the other examples in this video because I thought people might get bored of the same tests over and over.
I haven't yet Steve and am currently using the supplied cable but will when I do the final install. I think I've found a good source for reasonably priced cable on Amazon. So that might end up being what goes in.
@@DENMONKEY I have a Renogy 3000, with I think either 1 or zero cable that is connected to my 140 lithium baterry thats runs my micro for heating up my lunches at work or a induction cooktop.
The cable I have with be 1/0 , but I just need to figure where I'm remounting everything with the second battery in there now and make up the cable to fit, keeping it as short as possible. Unfortunately planning and design are not one of my strengths.
@@DENMONKEY Brett, I also owned a Paj, working out were everything was going and changing the setup many times lol was the hardest part to make it work for me as well. I've gone with the lightfox lights and will c how they perform up here Tropical QLD.
Whilst I would say some base components are likely sourced from China, like electronics for eg. Hard not to be these days. They do promote their products as Australian, designed, manufactured, and tested all in Australia. That said, I have no information that could either confirm or deny that claim. Id like to think it's true. I've got 1348 reasons to hope it is. .
@@DENMONKEY don’t get me wrong. I love Lightforce. I have them myself. I just know they source their product from China. These days there is good China and bad China for quality. Lightforce are thorough in making sure the product is quality and acceptable for Australian use. But to think you can come to Adelaide and see them being built in a factory like you do with Redarc products just isn’t true though.
The light output looks great, nice and even, I'm really surprised by the mounting system, I don't like the plastic base, this is a definite weak point the indentations surely will get damaged on the plastic part with the pressure of the entire light on them bouncing around, If I had purchased them with a plastic bracket I would have sent them back, I always choose Aussie made over imported, but these are not for me because of that plastic bracket, I am very happy with my ALTIQ ROGUE 8.5" MK3, the mounting bracket is indestructible at 17mm thick Aluminium, and the light output is phenomenal, couple them with the spread covers and you get the best of both worlds, call the boys at Altiq for a lightbar, I'm sure they will be eager to look after you, after installing the Rogue MK III, I personally think lightbars are a thing of the past and just not required
Those mounted at my least favourite part and I think it's hard not to be concerned. I have to think they know what they're doing though, surely. There are so many lights about right now, we're spoilt for choice. I'll suss out those light bars and thanks for the suggestion. Guess you made it to the end 😁 I agree, light bars might be less of a requirement these days....... but I still want one 😁 I'll let the angel and devil on my shoulders fight that one out.
I don't think that lightbar makes much of a difference now. They do throw a good light and have nice spread for sure, don't know I could justify the cost though, they are very pricey. I'll take the Lightfox ones off your hands though lmfao.
Pricey they are indeed. You don't turn 50 very often though. So it was a treat. You'll have to get in line ol boy for those other ones, lots of people putting their hands out for them. Looks like you've been doing alright on the freebies of late. New camper and all 😀
@DENMONKEY pH year I forgot about the Bday part. Happy 50th mate, I thought you were closer to 60 lmfao. Yeah the camper was a good score. Marketplace can can provide some good stuff at times lol.
