Hi All, in todays video I'm taking a look at the Australian release of the Jackery 1000 explorer pro solar generator.
I've had a chance to put this through many tests thus far and have been impressed that the jackery has performed as per the writing on the tin.
Since this is my first experience with Jackery I will continue to see what it is capable of and report back in future videos.

Very good mate. I just got one of these, the 2000 pro, and will be posting a review of mine in a few weeks.

Looks good and orange is nice so it stands out. Decided to go low budget small size/weight with the Allpowers R600 Beige. Small 300Wh Lifepo4 battery but 600W inverter. Found it runs up to 700W with a 2 slice toaster. Proper AC sockets and covers also. 400W AC quiet charger plus accepts any solar or DC source up to 60V 300W. Can even plug in my 40V ebike battery and 20V drill batteries to the solar input. Also UPS mode. Agree it would be nice to get direct access to the battery. And it is also supplied 0% charge for transport.

cheers Brian. That 0% thing has me worried there for a bit. I thought, well this is gonna be a short review.

Could the zero charge whilst being freighted be something to do with freight insurance costs? Given the flammable issues involved with lithium ion batteries?

Good initial review, lots of info. Just wondering as a test would it run a caravan A/C if off grid camping while charging it with solar? Im thinking a bigger capacity battery like the 2000w job.

Hey Col, thats kinda how long is a piece of string questions. Not having much experience with them, Ive heard some van ac units are as low power as about 500W and soft start. so something like this would work but only for a short period based on the battery alone. to run for longer than that it would depend on having more solar coming in then what your ac is pulling. Not sure on the unit you're wanting to run but it would be a fair bit of solar I'm guessing. I would definitely be looking at the bigger unit if you have the means. You'll get the bigger inverter , more capacity and a higher allowance for solar to keep up.Ac units can be very power hungry. Of course you're going to have to pay for it too.

Thanks for your reply. This question came to mind while watching the video and thought that this could be something that could make camping off grid a bit more glampable (sic) I take the point that A/C's are power-hungry suckers but my thoughts were for those that use generators with smelly exhaust fumes and having an extra fuel source, that this might be an option. Might simply also mean that the tech isn't at that point yet. Cheers.

So, I’m not clear, the Jackery can only be solar charged using its own cable and plug? Not any other type on my other brand solar blanket?
@DENMONKEY
@DENMONKEY 8 месяцев назад
You can use other branded blankets etc but you just need the right jackery plug for it to fit. Most other brands take the 7919 plug but the jackery takes a 8020. But they include an adaptor for that. So if you panels got the other brand solar generators and you have the adaptor, you're good to go.

@@DENMONKEY At home I mostly use Grid Connect (Bunnings) and Google Home for automation and thought about a camping setup, though would only work with 'net access. Though an Arduino with an offline voice command module would be hilarious!

Not too sure but i reckon the fact it has zero charge makes for easier shipping due to the lithium battery. Partial charge may go boom.

Hey nige, I think you're right. I also think some transport companies insist on batteries being transported to be discharged. Would be a good idea to mention it in the manual though. All is well that ends well

Great to see your little mate is still going strong, albeit a bit greyer.

Ooh I wouldn't say strong but he's still going the little trooper. He's 16 now. But like the rest of us a little bit fatter and a little bit slower , plus a little bit blind and a whole lot deaf. He still thinks he's a puppy sometimes but mostly just an old man 😁

Hey Brett, just for a comparison. I just looked at the Bluetti AC180 for only $1299 It has 1152Wh & 1800W inverter with 2700W surge. It also has 3500 charge cycles (not that we will ever have it that long 😂) Keep up the good work mate 👍

Hi Jackery marketing response. It sounds like you are saying the competition is not as good as you. Look at the facts , then respond. All I was doing was offering an alternative. Looks like you are scared of the competition already established in Australia.@@JackeryAU2012

cheers Pauly. Are you is Oz mate ? Yeah I dont think I'll ever get the max life out of any of my units. I charge them to full and run them down to zero. Ive done that with my old AGM batteries too and still got 7 years out of them. With the way these things are being pumped out, they'll be redundant inside of 2 years because all new ones will be out by then to tempt us. We live in exciting times with all this tech coming out but it's an expensive option trying to keep up with all the goodies :) Out of curiosity what are you planning on using it for? Ive been running this one in the back of the commodore running the fridge. its been handling it well but shut up in the car , the temps are getting over 40c and the safety features are cutting in. I do love australia but the heat here and be a real PIA when it comes to in car tech. I'd kill for a decent windscreen phone holder that doesn't end up on the floor after a few hot days.

I agree about the Bluetti AC 180, much better value at around $1299 and they are often reduced by $100-200. I have the Bluetti EB70 and it's not far off the specs on the Jackery 1000 and is reduced to $799.
