This channel is devoted to boxing and boxing techniques. I post weekly videos that break down techniques, tactics, strategies and training methods to improve your boxing or striking for other combat sports. Boxing is something I want you to do on your own terms and reap the benefits that can be had. Whether you are a young up and coming fighter, a corporate pugilist, or somebody who boxed long ago and are re-igniting the fire, I know you will benefit from my videos.
What if you mistake a right hook for a right straight, and slip? Wouldn't you walk into that right hook? Is this a real danger o an imaginary one I've thought about sitting on my comfy chair?
No, it's not an issue, the hook will come shorter than the straight and you start your slip before the punch finishes, so you'll still avoid it. The main danger in slipping is when you slip and then come back with a punch and run into the second punch from the opponent.
Great video. I’ve been boxing for just under a year and I’ve noticed my shoulders are hurting more now because I’m hitting with proper technique and a lot more power. They were hurting when I first started but i got used to that. Like you say it takes a while for your body to adjust. I do the power drill you mentioned (George Foreman) I stand at close range head almost touching the bag with a more squared stance and rip the shots in. Its helped me to remove whipping the arms to deliver the punch.
Solid workout coach! On the days I'm not in Muay Thai class sparring, these five sets are perfect. Power through! I do it late at night and I sleep like a baby. Thanks again.
Man still one of the best videos on RU-vid man I learned a lot over the years on your channel I’m still upset tho u took one of if not one of my favorite videos of yours which is the mayweather sr drill video 😢
Thank you for your support! That video is still available but it's in the membership - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-P241Lc7VPp8.html
its can be, you just have to be aware of the right hand coming down on you, be able to roll with the shoulder higher or dip under it. You need really good reaction.
I was a very good boxer for a few years and I didn’t have much fear in the ring while I didn’t throw anything outrageous or crazy in sparring i had faith, confidence, never second guessed any of the shots I threw and was rarely on the back foot after covid i would go through a really rough 3 and a half year period where i became very suicidal, never took care of my body or brain and isolated myself a lot from people and the world I’ve definitely turned things around in the last while and am pretty happy, grateful, healed and have lots of knowledge about life But a problem i have right now is that ever since I went back to boxing at the start of the year it just isn’t fun or enjoyable for me When I spar I have 0 faith in the shots I throw,i am sometimes just effortlessly walked down and pressured by my sparring partners and I am super hesitant to pull the trigger on shots that logically make sense to throw or that my trainers are encouraging me to throw I wanted to ask if this could be something psychological or if its just a matter of ring rust and i just need to spar against guys I’m a bit bigger or better than to build confidence because I feel so much fear and uncertainty when I’m in the ring now compared to how comfortable and relaxed I felt before
