Can’t believe this tour is almost over, and it’s crazy that not a single show (so far) has been delayed or cancelled. Good job boys 🤙🏻 So many great memories from this tour, I’m so happy I got to attend a good number of shows For the multiple shows that I have attended this tour, NJ #2 and Philly were probably the best shows. To be honest, though, each show had highlights: Houston - this was the first time I’ve ever been to a tour opener across any band and it was cool to not know what the setlist was gonna look like at all! So many great suprises in this one! Las Vegas - both you got me rocking and like a rolling stones were probably the best live versions of these two that I’ve seen in person over the years. Both were full of energy and great performances. This show has actually grown on me over the last few weeks. NJ 1 & 2 - the second show was the better of the two but the first one was still fantastic. Both setlists were very good and varied between the nights. Shattered, Heartbreaker, Wild Horses, and Bitch were all amazing Foxboro - some weird happenings at this show such as the stage hands rebuilding the stage in the middle of mess it up. Still a good show, though. Not sure why we got an abridged version of emotional rescue instead of the full song 🤷🏻 Philadelphia - energy levels were very high and Monkey Man and She’s A Rainbow were both great. Wonderful version of midnight rambler, with a snippet of you gotta move in there :) LA #1 - very solid show !! still gathering my thoughts about this one If I were to rank them: NJ 2 Philly Los Angeles NJ 1 Las Vegas Houston Foxborough
I swear I posted a comment but it seems to have been removed somehow. Anyway, what I said in my comment was that on the polls The Stones should only include deep cuts. I don't think it's fair to include really famous songs on the poll because of course that's the one that will win.
The ones that stand out in my opinion as live versions are below.. Route 66 & I’m Movin On on Decembers Children Factory Girl & Ruby Tuesday from Steel Wheels tour: Midnight Rambler-Ya Ya’s & Brussels You gotta Move & YCAGWYW -Love you Live Saint Of Me & Out of Control-B2B your Love In Vain - 69’ & 72 I like the studio versions way more of Street Fighting Man, IORR, Fingerprjnt
I wish the tours could just go on and on, like they did in the 1990's and up to 2006. I really wish they would tour like they did in the early 200o's, playing arenas and theatres and even clubs along with stadiums. All that being written, I'm grateful for whatever the Rolling Stones give us. It's a gift.
Yeah, I saw a '99 Arena show. But those days are over. It's all about the ticket prices, parking, beer, merch, etc that they can swoop up in one night and move on. They get a cut of everything in these "360 deals"
@@captainkirk70 I would like to able to actually buy tickets at a set face value. Everything is jacked up through resellers now. Sometimes you can get a deal, but mostly it's robbery.
Helluva tour 🎉..for those who made it, gold rings to ya! My brother and I were at NJ #1. He just happened to be in business in Cali, and his vendor gave him a ticket for Sofi, and he got a great show as well!! Grrr🤨
Yes I prefer Street Fighting Man as an opener as well (or maybe as a final song of the show as well). But after 2017-2022 it is nice to have a different song as an opener now, in my opinion.
SMU just doesn't come across live the way the brilliant studio version does. I think it falls flat because of how clean the guitars sound. Best version was probably the '81 tour version. More rockin' and fast.
Thanks much! I took that shot in Santa Barbara some years back. BB was one of my musical heroes. Deeply missed. And yes that Cook County set is legendary 🙌🙌
@@HangFireStonesPodcast I remember seeing him not long before he passed in Niagara Falls. I was in the slot machines area of the casino (he played at Seneca Falls) before the show. Out of the corner of my eye I see a man in a wheelchair being wheeled around by two gigantic dudes the size of Hulk Hogan. I turn to my buddy- HEY THAT’s BB King!!! My friend and I shouted “hey Mr King!” as he was being wheeled back to his bus. The bodyguards gave us a stern look before King saw us and made a motion to his dudes to back off. We approached him and said “just wanted to shake the hand of a legend” He silently bowed his head and smiled. I’ll never forget. He’s sorely missed. See the legends while you can guys. Tomorrow is never guaranteed!
totally agree on Street Fighting (hope they play it tomorrow!) WED at Sofi was absolutely stunning. They are still such a dangerous Rock and Roll band - probably the only one. First 3 or 4 songs were almost exhausting even to watch! they came out w a vengeance - absolutely epic! - my 24th show def top 3 or better
I really hope I get to see (and hear) them on this tour. Honestly, 17 shows in, I think the Stones are just getting warmed up, especially at this point in their career. Keith on the 335 is still odd to me.) I love Ronnie on the Firebird. I agree SFM is a great opener. I think I read that Mick isn't crazy about performing that song, though.
Eyes now down for release of UK and other European dates (yes, UK still European as far as I’m concerned!!). I don’t care how much the tickets are - I’ll be there!!
Rolling Stones are amazing❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤all off them in tje Band😊Mick..Keith..Ronnie.Bernhard..Matt..Chuck...Stewie..Daryll..Chanell and the Saxofonist and man on Trumpet❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Nice recapt 🤗 All Rolling Stones concerts 💎 USA are fantastic 🌟 maybe, the first in Glendale to start was a bit, bit no very good as ever but after They Are go on fire 🔥🙆♀️ will be so at last show 💎 in Missouri 💥 The Rolling Stones Are Unstoppables, Formidables Musicians 🎼💯 80 years old? Yes!! But They Are Ageless ✌️ Thanks for this nice sharing 👌👍👋👋👋👋
“later period prime” and the “middle finger to the naysayers” . I was very fortunate to catch a show on this tour….thank you for all the recaps you rock too 🎸
I'm amazed at the number of people believing that Mick was serious with the Trudeau joke, people don't see the tongue in cheek grin, or the fake look of surprise, a little discouraging it flew over so many heads. Been following your channel since the start of the tour, the Stones will never sound as they use to with Charlie, the groove has changed, but I do find Darrel and Steve have found a sound to bring to the band, they keep sounding better as the tour has progressed. Cheers
70% don't know their history anymore to get the joke and 30% of a stadium crowd own more than the greatest hits. Always shocked when you put their sales numbers up against their contemporaries. Except for Some Girls or Tattoo You their studio records mostly sold 1 or 2 million in the States. It's all about radio play and records like Hot Rocks (their biggest seller) But those sales were before Soundscan so they probably did sell more but impossible to track.
I remember very well the gig I attended 2 years ago for their Sixty Tour in Milan. I absolutely agree with you with the fact that "S.F.M." is on another level as an intro song, indeed they opened with that song and I remained speechless
I wonder, if the Stones hit the studio directly after this tour with the fire and pleasure and craftness and make a new album what would that album sounds like🎸🥁🎤
I’ve never really counted but my best estimate is that I’ve been to around 20 Stones shows starting with Anaheim 78. Last night at Sofi is the first time I’ve seen an entire stadium up and dancing the whole show. The energy was super high. Over the years I’ve seen Jagger range from merely professional to inspired, but last night, he seemed to be wanting to give everything he could in response to the crowds energy and electricity. It was so cool. Keith was on mission and he was super sharp all night. When he walked off with both arms raised, fistsclenched, you knew. You just knew.
The 2015 KC show was the best I've seen them since '81 as far as putting on a real rock show. Keith loud as hell. Jagger all in black. So killer. I cried. They haven't come close to me since then. And I told myself that's how I wanted to remember them. Which is true if you think about Charlie. They are playing a po-dunk town in Missouri last show but I hear that's a nightmare to get into. 2 lane dirt road off the highway. Only 6K in real parking. My understanding is is took 7 hours to get in to your seat after turning off the highway last big show, and that show only had 3K official parking for like Garth Brooks or someone. So they have only raised it to 6K total parking since that show last year. Can't even imagine older fans walking miles in the heat to get in as it will be very hot here for that show. New place/owned by Bass Pro Shops. I guess it's basically just a big "shed" so no real stage show. Sounds like Altamont kinda. I'm guessing it was a massive paycheck to get added at the end of the tour. Helicopter in and out. I'm going to wait it out for another leg and hope everyone is healthy to do one. It wouldn't surprise me if an upcoming tour will finally be a Farewell Tour. I remember having a photo book from '81 named "The Last Tour?" Lol. But it's truly likely next year.
Seeing them sat!! So excited, my first stones show and actually got good tickets!!! Words cannot describe how much im looking forward to it. Charlie was my fav but obviously if theres anyone that can replace him its steve jordan
I was at the Vancouver show. It was magnificient. Keith was really rocking with a high energy level throughout. I loved the show, the 16th of the tour, and the 16th in my life since 1975. They do not look at all like a band that is ready to pack it in. This is what is so great about these shows, no mailing it in, no sign that the thrill of performing to packed stadiums has become ho-hum, no signs at all of any kind of boredom on their part. In fact, they seem to be enjoying themselves as much as at any time I've seen them over the last 49 years. I also love the 4 new songs. "Angry" already sounds like a classic, and they play it with real gusto. I also enjoyed "Mess It Up", which has more of a rock sound on stage than the studio version which has a dance feel to it, but a perfect fit in the set list. All in all, thank you Rolling Stones. Thank you, Justin.
I think these last few announced dates are only going to wind up being the last in North America for this tour. I would bet that European dates will be happening possibly later this year or next.
I saw them at SoFi in LA last night. I have seen the Stones hundreds of times. First time was at the Inglewood Forum in 1975. Last night was their BEST SHOW EVER!! They were so tight. The band was on fire!! Keith was rockin it so hard!! They just keep getting better n better!!❤
@@kevinheffernan7975 Hey..!! Greetings from the lands at the end of the world...! I am a fan from Argentina, had the fortune of seeing them on all their South American tours (1995, 1998, 2006 and 2016)... and it would be very interesting for me to know how the presentations that the boys made over here are considered in the rest of the world. Here... I realize from the comment, that they must be something like special in some sense. But... to what extent is this a generalized opinion? Thank you very much in advance. PS: I keep praying to heaven that my country will be included in the upcoming 2025 tour, to go fulfill the old ritual... Cheers from 💪👊 🇦🇷
So, what do you think? Gotta be another leg of this tour? Or a Farewell Tour? I can't see them not continuing a Hackney Diamonds tour. A winter arena run would be great. They are not selling out these stadium shows except maybe in the A level markets.
Is it really true that they're having a hard time selling out these stadiums? I would have thought they'd have no problem filling them up. Then again the tickets are insanely expensive.
@@Mcfly85A Most stadium shows don't really sell out if you look at the Ticketmaster available seating charts. It's all about the parking, beer, ticket prices, etc. The promotors and artists have what they call 360 deals where everything gets a cut. But I haven't seen a sold out Stones show since a '99 arena show. In LA, and NYC they sell out probably. But artists don't need to sell out anymore. GnR can do 35K in a 70K stadium and it still be well worth it to them. I'm sure Stones do better. But I haven't seen a stadium tour do multiple nights in regular cities since the '81 or '89 days. Or at least before tickets prices went up. Alot of shows even do what they call "paper the house" which is when a lower selling show gives out tons of tickets for free so they can get the parking, merch, beer, etc. One person buying a $50 shirt, 2 or 3 beers, and parking is well worth it. But no, it's not just this tour. A 2015 show I saw was not nearly sold out. It's not a current thing. And they don't care. They get their multi-million guarantee and then their other cuts of stuff and that's why they still do stadiums. I wish it wasn't that way and they had to do arena shows in smaller markets like the old days. I HATE to say it but they don't care about the fan's experience or they would be doing smaller venues and possibly more dates. I know they are older and we are lucky to get the amount of shows we do but the accommodations and length of time between dates and we should be able to get a few more dates. Private jets, 5 star suites, many days between shows and we should have got a few more dates or at least the promise of them. But I'm sure we will get a second leg and they just wanted people to travel and worry that they may miss out on seeing them ever again. I know that sounds negative but at least the promotor is 100% thinking that way. Which is always a possibility at their age. Back in the day they would do 2 shows in an arena a day instead of one stadium date. But that was back when Jagger deeply cared about what people thought and wanted the best experience instead of making fans see ant-sized versions of them in a stadium for $$$$.
@@nickrowat4461 yup. Never got the love. This may be blasphemy but I'd be fine if they dropped Miss You and even Midnight Rambler. They take up so much time. We could get an extra 5 or 6 songs.
I was at the So Fi show. This was my fifth time seeing the Rolling Stones, the first being back in '81 at the LA Coliseum. I've got to say the band was on fire last night. Highlights for me were Midnight Rambler, Keith's Before They Make Me Run and an astoundingly hard rocking Jumping Jack Flash!!
Scott is not only a Stones fan, he has to be a musician or sound engineer. The best trait of a musician is the ability to listen. Like Scott there was no visual, all ears hearing guitars and drums. Mick voice would have been easier to pick the tours. I'm a drummer of 59 yrs and attended the 72,78 and the 94 tours and only got the 72 tour right. Great job Scott. 👍🏼
