Randy Rhoads the greatest of them all and 42 years later not a single guitar player comes close to Randy he was just too talented.God took Beethoven in 1827 and 155 years later gave us Randy but only for a short while but in this short period of time he produced the very best guitar playing man had ever heard and nearly impossible to duplicate that's what makes Randy such a special guitar player
I saw this show at The Palladium in N.Y.C. in the same year 1981 with Motorhead as the opening act , I believe it was the "Ace of spades tour" ,They (Motorhead & Ozzy) did 2 shows at the Palladium that noght , an 8 :p.m. Show & a Midnight Show, I went 2 both , tripping on mescaline , Damn those were the days , I was 17 & it was easy 2 get tickets really cheap back then , actually tickets , not digital shit like today , cell phones didn't exist yet , Today you're actually allowed 2 record the show on your phone...
It boggles my mind that there isn’t a video out there in the public sphere of one of their concert sets with Randy…..if I’m wrong please let me know, I damn sure hope I’m wrong.
You also have to realize that Ozzy's career was over and it was Randy who got him going again. Ozzy has said many times that Randy gave him hope to carry on. Find the video of Ozzy, Randy, Rudy Sarzo, and Tommy Aldridge playing Mr. Crowley and look at the expression on Ozzy's face. Pure joy from hearing the exceptional level of musicianship that was his new band and also new life. That's what Randy brought to Ozzy.
No disrespect for Jake E Lee or Zakk Wylde, but Randy was just another level. All great guitarist. Zakk is up to this date one of my favourite guitar players, and Jake is also brilliant. But what it really makes a guitar player great ,is not only the way he plays, it is about what he writes, how he writes music, and most important what tone he is using to transmit this tonthe public. Randy's guitar had a soul, had a voice, had a sond that eas just brilliant, and that was not found at Jake, or at Zakk. Plus....he was just a kid, and remained a kid frozen in time. Randy Rhoads....died 25 and is still the best guitar player from all, imagine if he had lived a bit longer ....
Greatest Rock/Hard Rock Metal guitarist ever. He had been plying like this since the mid 70’s. His impact on the guitar world was beyond immense. Randy changed the entire game.
he was too good at his craft and so was called back into the kingdom of gods so they could hear his playing for themselves. rip randy Rhoads he may have died but his music and spirt lives on in mr Crowley crazy train and all of fasntastic works. we love you randy.
You've been my favorite guitar player since the first listen, more than 40 years now! Still get goosebumps! Wish you could've stayed a lot longer, but it seems like some of the great ones can't stay long... miss you Randy 💫
DeLarge? AWESOME!!! I loved that song you did back in the 80's "Rhythm of the Night". Is this Chico or El running this account? I didn't know you were into Metal... Very cool.
