Randy is, and has been, since Blizzard of Ozz came out, the greatest musician that ever lived, in my opinion. His playing has affected me like nobody else's before, or since. I never saw him play, but I did meet Ozzy twice, met Mrs. Rhoads at her music school, Musonia in 1997. She was very cool. I also was, with a dude I hung out with at the time, at Randy's 30th memorial, at his cemetery, in San Bernardino, ca. We took Kelly garni and his buddy to lunch that day. At the cemetery I met his sister Kathy, and his brother Kelle. You have put online footage that I have, but mine is generated. Yours is killer quality. And after collecting everything Randy that I could get my hands on, here's Randy footage that I have never seen. Keep doing what you, Randy fukking rules!!
Was lucky enough to see Randy on “Diary” tour = he had along lasting effect on my own playing. One minute I was seeing him and a few months latter he was gone, it was very surreal for a 14 year old kid It took along time to sink in At least he made his mark with just 2 records LEGENDARY 🎸 ONE OF A KIND
There is a January 3rd, 1982 concert at Fresno, California's, Selland Arena that was filmed. There were 5 to six cameras that night, everybody there that night seen the cameras too. I
This first clip is from a NEWS broadcast, I have the camera from the Stage right angle, Randy is Mostly behind Ozzy Stage Left, but the lead in Over the Mountain has that camera man shifting over to get a good look at where that is coming from. That is the Diary Tour as well, so the whole catalogue is available as a set list. That very last cip is the one. The one with the red shirt, which is what brought me here, I have not seen him playing in that. Unless he takes the vest off half way through the set, that is another show. Ozzy in a blue Suit. possibly a third. I don't know if the NEWS would film a whole show, but they only played for a hour back then, the Stations might have. There are a few Most of the show, Ozzy and Sharron are apparently sitting on some and there is "Randy Rhoads Very rare footage (720p) (Read desc)" which has part of a lot of songs but very degraded. Finally get to hear something other than I dont know, Crazy train, Crowley... It has Believer and the Lead for Revelation Mother Earth and more, I have not watched it in a while.
Hey Scott Dunn, I was there at Long Beach Arena for Blizzard and the Forum for Diary for my 1st two concerts. These guys were great!!! Awesome for sure!!!
@@JW-zs1pz We lived in Azusa when Ozzy played on New Year's Eve, Dec. 31,1981 (Santa Monica Civic Center if I remember right), but my dad wouldn't let me go because he didn't want me out on New Year's Eve (I was only 15). I've always regretted missing that show (pictures of Randy sitting on a couch playing his black Jackson are famous). Regards 🎸
I was blown away seeing Randy with Ozzy Dec. 30th 1981 at the Cow Palace in SF. Amazing guitarist, my favorite hands down, and it crushed me when he died. I am forever grateful I got to see him once. His playing on Tonight, SATO, Diary, Crowley and You Can't Kill Rock and Roll are some of the best solos ever!
Randy Rhoads was a once in a lifetime gifted guitarist for Rock Fans...so sad...as was guitarist Steve Gaines ( Lynyard Skynard) thank God for the blessings we get in life and them two guys were just that..a gift to us whom will be forever remembered ❤💜🙏🙏
Thank you so much for mentioning Steve, he was another awesome guitar player and singer. Randy is a legend. His guitar solos will be play for many many years to come. I’m glad we had them for what time we did❤
These recordings were clearly done in soundcheck or for the TV segment There's no audience there in the other clips. I still believe there is Randy footage that is being kept under lock and key controlled by Sharon Osbourne.
Any chance they filmed the entire concert? There's not a lot of footage of Randy out there, Sharon probably has some good stuff that she's holding back.
my son just bought a brand new guitar and a Marshall amp. I’m excited to get home and listen to him play. He has good talent. I told him he can play a little Randy’s music and myself might get in there as well. I’ll play it a little bit when I was a little boy, my dad played a lot. My cousin is a musician and a teacher. I could take free lessons from him if I wanted to but I can’t wait to get home and play this.
I'm sure there is more footage out there... It is reassuring to see more and more footage being exposed... Just like you said we unfortunately will not ever see it... I keep crossing my fingers and hoping that it gets released...
There's absolutely more footage. Whether Sharon will ever release the full shows they have with Randy is anyone's guess. They filmed a load of shows on the Diary tour. It's really sad and pretty disgusting that they haven't honored Randy in the way he deserves. They've been sitting on the footage for 39 years and it'll be a miracle if they ever release any of it. Rudy's said that they filmed, Tommy's said it and in the 30 years after the Blizzard documentary...you can see a few clips that are crystal clear and shot by a 3-4 man camera crew which is exactly what she used when they filmed the shows on the Diary tour. They had a $250k stage set traveling from city to city...to sold out arenas and plenty of money coming in. There's not one band who didn't film shows.. especially when they were as successful as they were on the Diary tour. And they certainly didn't just happen to start filming when Brad Gillis joined the band.
I really don't care what Ozzy has to say... Just show me Randy ,the burn Rhoades, he's solely the reason I watch these music videos... Ozzy lost it in the 90s and never regained it, but, I'm glad he's doing ok, rock on!
I've grown up from a teenager when I listened to Ozzy with all the origanal members, now I'm 54 and still love listening to dairy of a mad man blizzard of oz,randy Rhoades was so fun to listen to and to watch Ozzy with him Ozzy was so happy
Thanks alot for this wonderful Xmas present. Really praying we get a full clear show in the New year...though that may just be wishful thinking. Sure wish we could see all the Entertainment tonight footage!! They have at least a few full songs! Happy holidays ✌️💜🙏✨
i think they have tons of footage of randy but for some reason the osbournes won't release any. ill never believe they don't have footage especially when we can find tons of it with brad gillis.
This is actually an empty hall they’re playing to. This was done that afternoon for Entertainment Tonight, a local show called Two On The Town and maybe a third. This is the most of this footage I’ve seen over the years!
@@joemamma416 I did not know they had video footage of this, but it makes sense now, when they were filming segments they obviously took from an entire show, not sure why they will not release the videos
It’s hard to believe 40 years and here we are still listening to Randy Rhoads music. I like to go back and relive those days and maybe see a different outcome but it isn’t to be so just sit here and wonder what this guy could’ve been, but if I could, I’d go back, those were the great days man watching all these young performers band performers growing up with them they were young too. Those were the best days and they can’t be replaced rest in peace Randy Rhoads you was taking too soon.😇🎸🎸😇
There IS actually more footage of Randy, but the owners (no, not Sharon or Ozzy) have chosen not to release it. It was recorded on the DOAM tour in Texas by a few fans. Now, they have release really poor quality snippets of it on RU-vid, but that’s it. To be fair, though, I can see why they wouldn’t want to release it because Sharon might want to buy it off them and try to rip them or they just simply want to keep it to themselves. I personally believe they should show the footage to Randy’s family, honestly, but that’s just me.
The rhodes family knows Sharon and her legal team well enough not to release rare footage of randy just look at how everyone who played in ozzy's albums were treated
@@Nickk81 Screwed ALL of artists that wrote all the songs and put Ozzy’s name on them. Then to take song royalties by re-recording albums with different people. Totally denied the Rhoads Family.
I have played Since I was 9 yrs. old and Rhandy is the hardest to reproduce and figure out knowAll of Blizzard of ozz took me 1 1/2 yrs to prefect RIP Randy Rhoads
according to the Steve Machat book on the Osbournes, who was the band's lawyer, they did sell off some Rhoads video for 150K to help Jet Label raise money
They say the Detroit show on DOAM tour was pro shot but the owners of the venue at the time has showed a snippet of a randy solo. Proshot. Black and white. But they refuse to release but chose to tease us
Lots of Ozzy, Rudy, & Tommy, but very little Randy footage. Not blaming you, it just doesn't exist, and that's the damn shame of it. One of the best guitarist composers that ever lived, but in the age of video there's very little to be had. 😢
I'll watch anything with live footage of Randy Rhodes!!! Even if its a plummer named Randy Rhodes giving a tutorial on how to unclog a toilet with a giant turd. Need more Randy footage!!!
Can't help but think about and feel bad for Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake who should have been n that stage playing those songs with Ozzy and Randy, the real Blizzard Of Oz band !!
Its funny, Ozzy acts like he wrote the music and its well documented that the band would do the heavy lifting and he would just come in and take credit for it.... Randy Rhoads was the genius here
Yeah, the Osbourne crime family fucked everyone and took all the credit. Randy’s family had to sue them for not paying them for Randy’s royalties. I can’t stand the sight of them.
@@danzemacabre8899 Don’t forget Lee Kerslake, but RR absolutely created all guitar arrangements. They all 3 were like the stars aligning in the universe on the first 2 albums. Imagine if Ozzy would have just shared the wealth and they went on to create more and if only RR hadn’t gotten on that plane with the crackhead bus driver....if, if , if......
I personally think Sharon will not put out some of this stuff being Randy was the star on the show, and after he passed, that would basically be releasing a docu (or whatever) to where Ozzy would be overshadowed. If you know about it you know, but I have a feeling she would prefer a new generation not see the guitar player being 10x more professional than her husband on tour, and him likely getting the most praise if the footage were released. (no disrespect to Ozzy, but hes clearly wasted, hence the vocals sounding like some drunk doing karaoke to an Ozzy song) Although Im sure it sounded great LIVE, soundboard recordings will highlight out every little flaw, while the crowd hear everything blasting at one time.
Am I the only one that loves Randy’s playing but absolutely hates his tone his amp produces. Bc his guitar is a tone god but his amp was just horrible.
Whoever was working the sound board for that show needs to be fired or possibly when they filmed the camera guy was in the wrong spot and all you mostly here are bullshit keyboards .
