PBMs are the worst. Just when you thought health insurance companies couldn't get any greedier, they buy up the PBMs in order to suck more money out of the healthcare system!

LOVE this. And this doesnt even bring up the kickbacks sorry rebates PBMs are paid to put a drug on their formulary. People without insurance pay for that and most americans think the reason for high drug prices is the manufacturer. Its also the middlemen. Both have stockholders to satisfy, not Americans who have the disease they are treating.
My insurance is forcing me to use their mail order and it takes about a week for them to “process” it, then another week to actually arrive at my house! I regularly run out of prescriptions for several days before receiving it!!
Please fix DIR fees. Please don’t let pharmacies be crippled without being allowed to even be at the table. The large Pbms are closing the doors to pharmacies without any real ability to stop this claw back. To the the average person not working in or for a pharmacy.... DIR fees are similar to hypothetically to an getting a cell phone bill each month and it is the normal expected $100 dollars but then it will be $12,000 randomly the next month and you can’t even plan for it or switch to another company. You just have to pay it. I don’t think people understand that pharmacies that are not owned by a middle man pbm are barely able to stay open. Just give pharmacies the ability or pathway to show their true value and outcomes without the smoke and mirrors that is fair and a universal standard.
Sadly still very true in 2020 , 8 years later and it has become worse.... Any time some brave politician breaks from pack and party (and that giant cash contributions that keep them able to afford running reelection campaigns),to regulate this scam, it is fought not only by these evil companies, but Americans who delusionally believe that regulating an industry is harmful to them. Their ancestors fought the highway system, the telephone , telegraph and power-lines being ran to better their lives. Fought having to have the well uphill and outhouse down the slope from the fresh water supply..... Which is the American way is to fight anything that makes life better out of fear it might cost something, that is will stop them and their little 1 person business, instead of reining in the insane profits companies are making off them driving them into bankruptcy.
