Crime in PERTH? FFS!! NOT - AN - ISSUE!!! Realistically. Crine exists in ALL places inhabited by human persons. But this is PERTH FFS! ONE OF THE SAFEST PLACES ON PLANET EARTH.
Hi Cathy, I just found your channel and am loving binging on all the Perth videos. We moved to Aus in 2020, but to Brisbane. All your info would have been so helpful to have then 😅. We are planning to move to WA in April and its been great to see Perth through an Saffa's eyes. Hope you and your family have an awesome 2024 💕
The "esky"was originally a brand of cooler box. My parents had their first one back in the sixties made from all metal. It was made by a company called "Willow"& it had a small picture of an eskimo, so in Aussie tradition it was shortened to "esky". So when other brands came out the name "esky" stuck in reference to cooler boxes in general.
@@cathybothai used to be an expat in Dubai now in Saudi .....we hope to return to Perth in 25 .....i used to live in Sydney all life and we bought a house in Perth in June 23.....we looking forward for the move

Hi, thanks for the fantastic vid. You clearly come from a corporate backround. Without question, the best expat Aus. Channel ive come across. I love the way you are extremely factual and keep your information "non" personal. We've been considering moving to perth. We are SA expats (fourways) that have been living in Ireland for the last 20 years. Thank you once again. Keep it up.
Thanks so much for your comment. Videos will be back in February- as we have just welcomed our little boy- so I haven't had a chance to pick up the camera in a while! Feel free to comment / message on any topics you would like to see covered on the channel in the future. Good luck with your immigration plans!!
@@cathybotha Hi Cathy, thanks so much for your response and congratulations on the new addition to your family. I will definitely take you up on your offer. Looking forward to your next vid. Kind regards Simon
Small-town Perth has a population of 2.2 MILLION, a quarter the population of London. London is the capital of the UK, until recently the financial capital OF THE WORLD, a one of the major few European and world cities .... for CENTURIES. SO .. get PERSPECTIVE. Perth is the 4th most populous city in Australia, Western Australia is the whole western THIRD of the continent. We are proudly "isolated", though long-time residents feeling anything but isolated. Quite frankly, we live in the best place on Earth. Bar none. REALLY. Perth has a Mediterranean climate, hot dry summers, mild wettish winters, and when Perth turns on the good/great weather, quite frankly, there is no better weather ANYWHERE in the world. Sweet air, chirping birds, warm sunny with gentle breezes. And some of the best metropolitan beaches in the world, mere minutes away from much of the population.
Hi Cathy - I just found your channel and I love it! I am also from SA have a Cavalier King Charles spaniel 🐾 I was wondering if the direct flights from Perth to Cape Town are still going 🛫 and how much this costs (I am struggling to find info online)
I would like to move there from Europe with my family too. I have 6 years of experience as a new car salesman and i got a degree of electrician. I wonder what kind of chance we got if we start our journey. 😀
My biggest tip for affordable phone plans is to look into Kogan. I pay 1yr upfront usually and works out to be less than $15/month. Unlimited calls & texts, and the data is enough for me.
Hi Cathy, My wife and I are beginning with an immigration agent and Perth seems like a great option. We both work in the business or finance sector, what is a great suburb for a family with a teenager and a toddler close to schools and work?
Thanks Cathy for sharing. We are busy immigrating to Sydney and our Beagle puppy is waiting for his import permit. We are also using an agent, and they do make things a lot easier, as there are so many steps involved. Hoping to hear about the import permit soon and to also get place in the quarantine facility. Fingers crossed.
It’s very very hot here in Summer. It is remote from the rest of the world. There is not much culture here. It’s a young city so there isn’t much culture. There is Indigenous culture but it’s hard to learn about. Perth is weird. I’ve lived here my whole life. I’m 56. I would recommend living in Melbourne if you want more art and music or arts in general. Perth is more money oriented, sports, restaurants, wine & beer, outdoor activities. There are a lot of wildflowers during wildflower season. You have to go out to where they are growing. Wildflowers are only growing in parks within the metro area.
You need to purchase an inexpensive music software to apply equalization to your audio content to minimize the base tones to make your narration more clear. This is common with cheap microphones. This fix is easy and quick.
hi cathy thank you for this video. we are moving to Perth this July. I just wanna ask regarding your initial accommodation while you were still looking for a permanent property? thank you again.
Very informative. You still enjoy your life in Perth? Is it too hot there? Could you say Perth's hot weather is somewhat similar to that of Cape Town ?
