Dealing with interference with a Garmin echo uhd and a maxxum 70 digital. I think it's down to 1 of 2 things, if transducer is within 3 inches of the lower unit I get noise.even with over 20 different sized Ferrite 31 mix cores on the transducer cable and some on the power to the trolling motor and some on the Garmin. I'm thinking it's in the control board of the pedal pulsing the voltage to the motor and the motor is acting like an antenna/ amp. The new trolling motor is in shop getting upgraded motor under factory warranty but my old one is back on boat. Both doing the same, so. If I can figure out what I need to do on the old one then I can repeat on the new one. At full speed there's no noise. That's why I'm coming to the conclusion of the control board
I've used muriatic acid for 40 years with similar great results. It's great for corroded carbs. I've found that rinsing in a solution of baking soda and lime slows corrosion on the steel parts. I don't know why, but it seems to make a difference.
Built an LT-1 350 for my '69 Camaro a few years ago, it was good. If I had it all to do over again I'd do an all out 327 with electronic Borlla stack injection, just because.😎
Hi Ronnie I'm wondering if there's any way you might be able to help me with the step by step procedures to rebuilding a Holley 4224 -660- center squirters carburetor I did very much enjoy the way you covered the dual feed 4 barrel that you did on here I bet I have watched and rewatched it on RU-vid 20 times easy your very easy to learn from my friend keep up the great work..
Thanks brother for taking the time to explain your inexpensive way to clean a carburetor with excellent results. Going to try this over the weekend on my 2 carbs I just removed from my boat that are not in the best condition. I’ll come back with the results Thanks again
Best way to clean a carb is an ultrasonic cleaner hands down. You don’t even need any chemicals just water will work but if you use a solvent it will work faster.
One of the few f=grinds owned by comp I like. Ran this way back in the day, LT-1 Wish Harvey Crane was still around, he was a genius when it came to grinding cams Comp absorbed Crane way back in the day so they are called comp nostalgia blah blah. Unless i got my info wrong
Your ' sign ' ....on backwall - in reverse , is ' can't fix stupid ''. ...agreed. As well : '' Cheap labour, isn';t SKILLED ; and conversely. '' SKILLED LABOUR , isn't CHEAP ''. TAKE CARE, RONNIE. ! (from eastern central Alberta - shop guy)
What percentage of acid solution to water did you use? Here in the UK we can buy a household cleaner called Harpic which is a 10% hydrochloric acid solution. I'm thinking of using that to try and clean a spare set of bike carbs.
Muriatic acid DOES attack aluminum, albeit slowly. Do not use this on a concours restoration part, we *can* tell. For 99% of carbs this is probally fine but can eat away at the balls that seal passages in some carbs and other embedded ferrics. I would start with ultrasonic and/or heat and a mild acid like 50/50 vinegar mix before resorting to the nuke mthod like this. Problem is it gets trapped in pits and continues to degrade the part. Do a LONG HOT water bath with a bit of bicarbonate and rinse afterward.
Thanks Ronnie, no junk, just getting it done. Finished my first 750. Did have to take the choke back off to get the middle screw in of the secondary diaphragm housing. Good idea to take photos of anything unusual. My choke idle advance was different and took 30 or 40 minutes to sort out. Very good thank you!
Nice work!!! I'll buy a bracket set up from you if you feel like throwing together another one. Bracket, clamps, hardware. Ive been wanting to put a lowrance reveal 7 tripleshot on my bow but I'm not handy like that craftmanship.
I am rebuilding a chevy scottsdale 4x4 right now. I keep a large home depot bucket of muriatic acid. 50/50 to water. All my metal parts go into it but...note to everyone. Have a good way to pull the part out and a way not to drip acid all over the place. Also, acid will clean that metal up slick as snot but it will not touch anything with grease or dirt on it so clean first. Lastly...eye protection! drop something in a bucket and that splash can hit ya right in the eyes. Thank you Ronnie for this video!! I never thought of using this for a carburetor and I have a 78 quadrajet that is dirty as can be.
That was used to break in the engine after I rebuilt it, look at my 79 corvette video with this engine installed and the Holley 750 HP on it. I rebuilt that carb for a customer and just wanted to make sure it worked correctly before he picked it up. I test all my rebuild carbs on a 400 hp engine that I keep on my run stand. Thanks for watching
