Great result Chris. Was the use of a paper towel rather than a sponge deliberate or what was at hand?

Merci

Hello. I am a new subscriber, and so glad to find your channel through this video. I searched ink and watercolor, and was so excited to see you using bottled acrylic ink like this. I like daler rowney, and LOVE seeing how others use it. Of interest, I usually don't like background music of any kind, but really enjoyed this music and your talking a little as you did it. Thank you. All around enjoyed this so much. Just wonderful and hope to see more in the future. Sincerely, Paula.

What would be the difference in appearance if white watercolor paint was used instead of gouache?
@ChrisStephenArt

White watercolour is opaque, so it would be pretty much the same.

I just stumbled over this video and what caught my attention was the resemblance to an oil painting I did. We had been driving south from Inverness toward Oban when we came upon this layby at the waters edge I was taken by the scene and quickly took a photo viewing to do a painting once we returned home. Some time past and at a group meeting we were challenged to do an oil painting. This was a medium I was not familiar with. Pity I cannot post it here as you might think it was the same location👍
@ChrisStephenArt
@ChrisStephenArt 10 дней назад
This is Loch Long. It’s not too far from Oban, could possibly be the same place.

i have a problem keeping my paper wet til end.May be you can tell me why I struggle please.
@ChrisStephenArt
@ChrisStephenArt 12 дней назад
That’s quite a difficult question to answer, as there are several factors. Firstly, what type paper are you using? Also, how much water you use and temperature / atmospheric conditions where you are can have a significant effect on drying times. You could try using a mist bottle to help keep some moisture on the surface.
@anomabailey4580
@anomabailey4580 12 дней назад
I use Daler Rowney pads. May be I need to invest in a bit expensive papers. Thank you for your prompt reply. Thank you for your videos.
