Why do you not use solar to heat your boilers? You could have used PVT panels to heat your boilers and heat the house by floorheating from the solar boilers too. Even the winters un SA have plenty of sunshine. (Been there)
All I know, is, I got a Pride MED go power chair, with 2 Acid filled Nano - Silica sealed, 12 volt & 20 ah. I wanted to upgrade, change to a new lithium ion battery, but must also change are power controls, and a new charger, would be $600.00 too much, will stay with the Interceptor 2 non spillable Sealed Lead Acid Battery, NANO - SILICA Type NB12,200 High Performance 12 V. - 20 ah. a 2 pack batteries
running a smaller engine on full throttle kills the car faster whereas running a bigger engine with only 10% throttle makes everything smooth and long lasting
i blew my ac port by passthrough powering a 1500watt ac unit. when i unplugged it from the wall it blew that fuse. so now im stuck with slow charging via the xt60 port. i bought a ac to cigarette port cord so i can charge it in my house. just takes like 6 hours.
The 5kw Deye has a huge heatsink and has only 1 fan the comes on when pushed really hard. The entire back is a heatsink and does a really good job. You can hear the fan but it is not loud enough to be annoying and very seldom comes on.
That's was the most simple and BEST way to explain Watts and inverter numbers. I got sick of all the jargon and no practical examples on RU-vid. Simple language. Thanks.
I have Sunsynk 5.32 battery with inverter and 2.4 kw panels, only issue I have is the mobile app is absolutely crap, read the comments on both Android and IOS, this company should not be able to get away with it in my view, unable to really see what I generate in power and where it goes.
Hi could you please advise on a 3rd party to repair my EcoFlow river device? I unfortunately lost my proof of purchase. CSA brands has quoted me 3k to repair the device, which I feel is excessive. Apparently it’s a PSDR board failure
Simple question, what happens if your batteries are full and the pv generates more than what you use, you can't sell back to the grid (net metering), so where does the excess generated electricity go?
I can push to the grid, but I don't do so since it's an externality. It's wasted..this usually happens a on a perfectly sunny day. So after 1330, about 60% is wasted.
I Iike how he said "bio gas is not used much in South Africa, is do believe it's much more used in the US" because a US citizen would say exactly the opposite 😂
Thank you so so so much. This sound has been tormenting me. I didn't even wait for the video to finish🤣🤣. As soon as I saw there are batteries and how to open the sensor, I ran out with my lil tool box. I'm at peace now.
Great video and happy new years. I would love if you did a run on the aircon. I would like to install maybe 1 or 2 aircon 9000btu units but unsure what is the demand on my 5kw deye
Maybe, you should remove this video, as it is hopelesly outdated, and therefore is giving false info. Even, solar geysers arre outdated, and replaced by gas geysers that do not need water reservoirs, and a 19kg bottle gives me 6 months of warm water supply, in a 3bedroomed home!!! R800 for a bottle refill... A sunsynk solar system is saving us from load shedding headaches and an ever more expensive kwh cost from a bankrupt utility...
Assalaamu alaikum, Change your geyser element to a 2kw GeyserWise PTC with wifi controller Also install a CBI Astute Smart Controller and change over switch for the geyser In that way you can switch your geyser between grid and backup whenever you want, and you can also control the geyser and temperature from your phone Works well for me Also installed change over switch for my electric stove. Stove runs off grid but there's been the odd occasion when it was load shedding and the wife asked me to switch the stove to backup. Also works well for me.
و عليكم السلام I built my own Wi-Fi geyser controller that uploads data points and plots it. Take a look here Off Grid Solar Water Heating - Is It Worth It? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_xClSxBWfqs.html I have a changeover for the geyser, so I can run it off the inverter if required. No need for the cbi astute with my own invention. Those ptc elements are expensive.
@@ElecAndAll yes, they're expensive, but worth it, they do the same job as the normal 4kw spiral but with half the effort And I can switch my geyser between grid and inverter whenever I want ROI is achieved in like 6 months
Assalamu Alaykum. It has been extremely valuable being able to learn from your journey. You went from a smallish system to a very big one in a short period of time it seems.. would you recommend going big inverter up front and then slowly build the solar and battery capacity as one goes along ?
I have an 8kw inverter with 2 x 5kw batteries, and now with hindsight, I'm thinking I should have went with 2 x 5kw inverters or 1 x 12kw inverter. So yes, rather go big on inverter from onset because it's the most expensive item and is also the heart of the system. All other items can be added gradually as budget permits.
@ElecAndAll Great video and happy new years. I would love if you did a run on the aircon. I would like to install maybe 1 or 2 aircon 9000btu units but unsure what is the demand on my 5kw deye
Just to add to my previous comment / proposal, i love the fact that a South African comes up with this vid in the reality of our loadshedding environment. 👏👏 I, as i asume 95% of all normal non-electricians, have some basic questions, too many to post here, but as an e.g., i notice you also have a Jo-Jo water tank installed (that is going to be the nirm for 90% of houses in SA over the nxt 2 years due to our water problems), the pump/motor most probable switches on and off every 5 mins, which means the start-up current is a factor of 4x / 6x? the rated voltage on start-up and will have a dramatic impact on your power source ( e.g. a 1kw motor might draw 4kw / 6kw on start up for a couple if secs) so your inverter set-up should be able to handle that. How do you spec your system to cater for such peaks?
First I used a DAB 2.5bar smart switch pump who was rated 600w. It didn't affect the system at all. Now I have a DAB VSD (variable speed pump) which adjusts the power according to demand.
Interesting the comment on that this system is oversized. Question...what is yhe kw/h usage per day and what appliances is connected. I have a 8kva Deye inverter and all appliances is connected...even the 200l geyeser with a smart switch. Have 8 x 550w pannels on a string with 2 strings connected to each mppt.
Hallo Johan. Ja, I mean the PV is oversized as 80% of the time the system isn't utilising the full PV capacity. What they should do is increase the battery bank so that they maximise their PV.
Do you clean your panels? How often do you clean your panels? What is the amount of power you use from ESKOM (if any)? What in your house is not connected to the system (stove, fridge, geyser)? Some insight into this would be appreciated as well. Thanks for some solid information on the panels 😁
Great video and very informative. My question is why did you decide to go full on 3 phase? I mean why didn’t you just stick with single phase and just buy a biggger inverter like 16 kva. What is the advantage of using 3 phase over a single phase because city power charge a monthly network optimisation fee?
What model of Pylontech Batteries failed you? I'm getting a bit worried because I was starting to stockpile some UP5000's before I take the system live.
Correct. The Landis Gyr measures what is exported. But it doesn't charge since eskom requires 3 separately identified readings as I mention my in my video.
Great video, just what I was looking for as I am moving house. New house has 3 phase and this is the inverter I was already looking at. Please can you do a review after a year? I would like to see your graphs as these inverters and batteries represent a notable capitol investment.
