Bringing my rehab toucan home (first night back) 

I'm so absolutely inspired by you. I've been following you since the start. I got into vet school and hope to specialise in avain medicine. Maybe one day I'll get to rescue some toucans of my own. Thank you for everything that you do

When you said "I've flown with toucans before", my dumb head envisioned you in a hangglider in the Amazon riding thermals with your fav bird.

It's a sad state of affairs when people can't tell the difference between a penguin and a toucan.

It just goes to show you, when a person keeps an exotic pet as decoration, the animal's deteriorating health reflects the soul of the owner. But if you sacrifice your personal needs to focus on enriching a creature that cannot return home to the wild, It strengthens our understanding of their world while living in ours. @2CANTV , you guys are a great example of this. Keep up the beautiful work. ♥

Aww poor baby she really favors that right foot/leg. Hope that can be sorted out and that she's not in any pain. I hope the new girl gets a clean bill of health and that her foot/leg issue is something that will respond to treatment. Three cheers for Aunt Dana! And our new girl here, looks like she's handling all the stress pretty well. I remember Beatrix was just shell shocked for a while, but she's curious and looking around and eating happily. Toupac and Ripley would be proud.

Yeah, I could see that she is in a lot of constant pain 😞 Perches aren't going to be good for her until that is treated (if it can be). I really hope she can heal. Her legs look horrific ....makes me so sad, but you're a good man for choosing to care for her ♥️

Looks good, there is a nice channel bird tricks, they also have a tucan A very large aviary outside. Kinda nice, good diet recipes too, they have lots of parrots

Throwing out some random ideas what about putting some thin metal mesh with a soft cover overtop to see if that helps perch? Although I'm sure you've thought up plans for perching related things.

I wonder if feeding too many blueberries could be part of the other guys passing on? I had iguanas, and it turned out spinach and broccoli, which you would think would be good for them, has oxalic acid. Their body cant filter it out, and if fed a lot, it builds up in their organs & kills them. Idk too much about toucans or blueberries, but something dietary like that we dont know about yet might be a potential danger. I hope the continued necropsies turn something up eventually. I know most of these guys had prexisting poor care or other issues before you got them, but I wish there was something more out there to help you help them. It always crushes you so bad when you have to lose one 😥 Glad to see you so happy with your new baby tho, I hope things go well!
