He doesn’t think he fit the MAVS,he knows he fit the MAVS…we lack shooting and he fits the bill 💯 percent…the looks are guys got and missed he knew deep inside man if that’s me getting those open looks these boys get a ring and he still plays good defense…perfect match
I give Cuban Mixed and I love Kidd and have most of his tenure. I blame the teams bad moments in his tenure on players (Christian Wood, Grant Williams)
Guys calm down we arent sharing our ideal player ideas lol. As a realistic expectation, commit less fauls, finish more wise and strong in short roll if he isnt sharing the ball after it. I dont think 3ball is this easy to implement but would i be surprised if he starts making threes after deadline and enters the playoffs with a 3ball threat??? Hell naw. Dude gained something really valuable every month last season.
D Live's issue in the finals was not his 3pt shot. He needs to develop a post-game. Tatum guarded him allowing him to switch on LuKai pick and rolls negating any advantage of a screen. If D Live is guarded by a wing he needs to be able to abuse that mismatch into submission like Porzingis did.
D Live is America's counter to Wemby!!! The Man is INCREDIIIIBLE!!!!!!! This incredible young man has unmatched athleticism and Vertical for that size!!! He will be a Anthony Davis type allstar sooooon! Mark my words!!!!!!!!💪💪💪💪 Absolutely believe he has the potential to be a great in this league 1 million percent!!!! Mental game is on point too!!!!!!!!!!!! Go DLive Gooooo!!!!!
My five biggest things I want to see lively improve on 1. Strength- will help with rebounding, defending and finishing through contact, and injuries even though some of his injuries where just really bad luck injuries. 2. Blocks/interior defence - pretty much just average more blocks or change slot more shots without fouling. 3. The 3point shot- him being able to spread the floor at atleast even 30% this year would be absolutely massive and that’s me thinking positive. 4. Switch ability defence- him being able to guard the perimeter better will improve the mavs defence and his chance at all defensive tea. 5. I’m not even to sure about this last spot, those pretty much cover everything, maybe some post game but I don’t see that helping to much, maybe he posts someone smaller, a person comes to doubles and lively kicks to the open shooter That’s what I’d love to see lively improve on
I don’t think D-Live will make a huge leap because he’s already so good. Some players learn quickly so they reach or get close to there ceiling fast. I do see him becoming more refined though…committing less fouls, developing in the post, less turnovers, not jumping on pump fakes, and that kind of stuff.
Does anybody know when Spencer is supposed to officially sign? Ever since Deandre Jordan flaked on us I guess nervous until they actually put pen to paper.
How about some realistic expectations? A jump hook, shoot 8 to 10 footers facing the basket (and using the glass), one or two dribbles going to basket, fewer “silly” fouls, and increase free throw % by 5. A little better D would be nice, but he is already maybe the best Mavs have ever had. 3s are easy to practice and he can take 50 a day in practice and see how good he can get. He may be the same or a little worse, so keep expectations in check.
I think the plan, which Kyrie has mentioned a few times, is for Hardy to grow into the dominant role, while Kyrie takes a step back over time. That will happen gradually. In a few years Kyrie might come off the bench with Hardy as the starter.
Liv is a rookie who had a good not great first season. The Good he finishes the lobs from Luka, sets good screens, good passer, ok but not great rebounder, and rim protector. Now the not so good, not good hands, not good footwork on either end of court thus uses his hands way too much resulting in silly fouls and getting into foul trouble. Also outside lobs or putbacks weak offensive skills at this time. But remember he was not a star at Duke and considering where he was drafted the tragic loss of his Mom, he will get better. His upside and potential is possible All Star level. Needs to get stronger, work on open shots & free throws. But we should great improvement next year. IMO by year 4 or 5 he is possibly an All Star. Keep working big fellow we need you. Also great we have Gafford to give us a solid center as well.
18:30 Dana was basically describing prime Pau Gasol😅 a d DLive reminds me of him a lot because of his good foundation and smarts. He can be that kind of player for sure.
They only asked him to do what he's great at. As much as luka spoon fed him buckets, lively unlocked the luka ran offense. Forcing a 3 on 2 in the pick and roll and setting up corner 3s. If lively can develop a scoring threat out of that short roll(draymond or sabonis), the league is in trouble. They didn't ask him to shoot but he can knock down 3pters
