Love this band. I've been a fan since the Nightfall album, when I was 12 and seen that album artwork in my local music shop and only had enough money for two cds... I was young and new to metal. And it was the Nu-Metal days and Nightfall just opened my eyes. Album artwork really matters. The 2nd cd was Areyon Electric Castle.
Thank you for this interview, very interesting! I also love the first interview you did with Hansi, it's one of my favourite interviews I saw with him. I hope someday I have the opportunity to meet him in person, he seems to be such a nice guy (besides the fact he is the vocalist of one of my two favourite bands 😬)
@@theartofheavymetal thanks! By the way, I have one question: Is it not allowed for interviewers to ask about their personal lives? I have never seen anyone asking such questions. Hansi share some personal information during interviews but it is just by chance, it is never something previously asked.
@@nataliaruiz3208 Great question! Having shot many hundreds of interviews over the years, I can't really think of a single one where we didn't discuss, even if briefly right before we start, what we are going to be asking/talking about with the subject. Most managers/agents of any personality or celebrity, big or small, will ask in advance what the interview is about, and sometimes even ask for a list of questions to be submitted in advance. It is entirely up to the interview subject what they want to share or talk about! Often people will say I don't want to talk about that, or I don't know, etc. and we move on to the next question, and cut that part out of the final interview and no one knows! Most artists and musicians prefer to focus on their body of work and keep their personal lives private for obvious reasons!
Thanks for watching! Be sure to check out our first interview with Hansi, where we talked specifically about the artwork for A Night at the Opera, fantasy in metal, and Bloodstock Open Air, as well as some of our other interviews with awesome power metal bands like Unleash the Archers and Glyph! I saw these guys live in Belgium somewhere around 91,92 I guess, after the Dawn Of Possession release. We did a lot of stage diving that day. Great guys. Ross wore a nice white shirt on stage 😁
Fantasy is something you can get multiple readings out of, so the band is not just hitting you over the head with a simple message (though Blind Guardian did have overtly social/political songs early in their career, e.g., Battalions of Fear).
Thanks for watching! Get on over to the Metal Blade RU-vid channel and enjoy the shit out of that Iridescent video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-G2h9j191Zcs.html
