IMMOLATION remain one of the most consistent death metal bands on the planet. Their album artwork, and lyrical themes have depicted the battle between good and evil from the start, and their album covers have been painted by some of the best artists around. Stalwarts of the New York death metal scene for over 35 years, Immolation continues to age like fine wine, with their latest offering Acts of God with an incredible cover by Eliran Kantor is a masterpiece.
In this interview they discuss their creative process, how involved they get in the artwork, and share a few of their all time favorite covers and love for Iron Maiden!

I saw these guys live in Belgium somewhere around 91,92 I guess, after the Dawn Of Possession release. We did a lot of stage diving that day. Great guys. Ross wore a nice white shirt on stage 😁

Along with Cannibal Corpse this is the most consistent death metal out there, they never released a shit album. There was an interviewer about 20 years ago that once said Bob’s riffs sound like he’s stabbing angels…I couldn’t agree more.

One thing that I've never understood about Immolation it's why they haven't used their logo in ALL their albums when they have one of the best and most iconic logos in death metal history. Aside that, always love them since their first demos until now.

Agreed! It’s funny how the turn of the century brought a whole new wave of cleaner band logos, In Flames, Enslaved, probably more I can’t think of! Glad Immolation have gone back to the original, it rocks.
