Nice video man, can you tell me what to check on a used one when finding one at a pull a part? Just to give me a better chance of getting a good transmission
awesome job. i wonder how long this extensive job took you the first time because I just realised Id rather pay someone to do that; i LOVE TO WORK ON CARS but this seems too involved for me uuuuffff
Usually the transmissions need replacing well before the engine.... In my 05 3.0.Accord had trans rebuilt at 210,000km,now at 310,000km trans is getting sloppy, Yet engine oil still burns clean, after changing every 10,000km
I’m surprised that rust didn’t get to its body! Also, the clear coat and the wheels weren’t peeled away at all! Something that was even more crazy, was that mold never got to the inside! That’s pretty amazing if you ask me!
I just did this the other day and this was very helpful. I would only add that any DIYer attempting this should be aware that those upper and lower quick connect hose fittings have an O-ring that should come with the new radiator that should be replaced. There is a round plastic O-ring retainer that you will need to pick out in order to pull out the old O-ring. Lightly oil the O-ring, seat it and a large socket is helpful in snapping the plastic retainer back into place.
The only way to top off the fluid is through the drain plug on the bottom of the transmission you need a special tool and pump vehicle also has to be running and at a certain temperature good luck
Cool thanks for sharing! Couple questions, do you have to do anything special moving the sensors from the old one to the new one? Is it just moving it from one to the other? Diagnostics? How do you get rid of the old cat assembly? Thanks again!
Thanks for the response as for the O2 sensors they simply unbolt and bolt into the new one no programming or anything like that took the old cats to a local metal scrap yard get paid to recycle them just need to show proof of ownership
@@zsproshop Thanks for the follow up. When I moved about 7 years ago I had a repair shop change my cat out. They put on a crappy one because when I rev the engine it makes a slightly noticeable vibrating metal noise. They also charged me $2100 to do this. Since I was moving and had to drive cross country I could not complain. Before that I had check engine lights on and a separate dealership replaced both O2 sensors attempting to troubleshooting and could not figure out that the problem was the cat. Long story short, I need to replace my cat again but now I just need to move the O2 sensors over and not replace those as well. I can use your vid to walk me through and not get ripped off again. Seems really straight forward. Appreciate it!
I look forward to the day when somebody or some shop puts an aftermarket swing arm, wheel and fat/wide tire on a Honda Monkey! Somebody here on youtube has already turned one into a cafe racer and all it needs is the wide tire and chrome rim on the back!
I just replaced the radiator on my (‘12) 3.6. You NEED a clip removal pry bar (Flat heads are for bone heads) You NEED a 1/4” swivel adaptor You DO NOT need to remove bumper You DO NOT need to remove condenser/ oil cooler. You SHOULD replace the bottom radiator hose if you can afford the 20$ piece. Why? Because removing the bottom clamp is a difficult task to say it lightly. If I had to do it again, I’d order it, and cut the old one and remove the clamp once out. Good luck all.
i have a 2000 honda crv, it threw the timing belt, but i am a 66 year old man that can't get around very good and my wife loves her car, but it looks like to much work for me to do, can't afford the shop prices, so i watched your video and i guess i will sell it,
I got the manual version took all the engine mounts off the one for the transmission took the flywheel bracket off but my flywheel don’t have those screws how would I be able to remove the engine without transmission
This is the EXACT spot mine started leaking in today! Wow I had no idea you had to remove the entire bumper to do this. Bummer. Gonna have to tackle this job next week
I have used your video and only your video on this issue, that I am experiencing for the past week. I’m also replacing knock sensors and gaskets while I’m down that deep. I am doing that coolant hose that runs above the knock sensors. Thanks for a well detailed video. I’m glad you got a good deal after a sensor fix.
I got this same job done but now I'm having a bad smell inside the cabin. It smells like smoke/gasoline mixed , any ideas ? Maybe the mechanic didn't put something back into place .
Bro, I just saw a runs and drivers but the engine starter is broken… how did they start it, if the starter is broken? Is not connected to the engine… wtf, copart is a scam
