Start and end with #12 and #15 Others make sense but are impractical. Common mistake of TKD etc. Too much form. Functionally is key. In matches, fights, and reality... Fluidity of multiplanar motion is King.
Wrestling shoes are allowed to hit the Sidewalk at tournaments because what is you have a match on Mat 8 and you have to walk to get there. Wrestling shoes can hit the Concrete at a tournament.
My coach at Univ of Maryland used to say save your money and just practice one move all summer. Every summer practice a different move. Camps teach you 100 moves you will never use

Definitely late to the party, but I was curious if you had good drills for getting back up after hitting the mat. In BJJ I'm always impressed by the former/current wrestlers not only because of their incredible footwork, but also for their ability to get back to standing or kneeling after I get a takedown or sweep. I've already incorporated a little bit of wrestling this summer and the results have been incredible (head position, knee slide double/single legs, drag out, peek out, etc. got me some no gi takedowns that are practically guillotine-proof). Would love to see what else I could incorporate!
