The pain he must have been in! And I know dental pain- getting an immediate (technically) partial denture in 2 weeks and my permanent in 3 months after that… this has put me off the idea of bridges and implants
MD here, medicine. That was pretty gross. I'm a bit surprised you closed him, clearly you had an anaerobic oral infection, but it was incredibly close to the brain. Amp and cleo? Glad it went to path, what about C&S? Oh, I'm an internist rather than a surgeon for a reason...
Please make a video on dentigerous cysts and the damage they can cause to the mandible if not caught early. I'm recovering from major jaw surgery with a bone graft due to the one I had. It's not a common occurrence but it happens often enough and I had no clue that something like this could happen due to not pulling my lower wisdom teeth.
Yucky and I think mine hurts oh so bad. All tooth pain hurts bad but infection is a nightmare. Stay on as many antibiotics as you can. It helps the swelling so it doesn't hurt as bad.
Glad the patient is better, but what happens now? The bone hole just remains there for ever? I’ve seen procedures where they place a test tube yellowish substance underneath to regrow bone..
Excellent video , I hv to admit . I was cringing when I heard the instrument he was using !! I kw that sound & I would Not be good if I heard it . Other then that I found this video really good explaining this 11 year olds condition & I hope she recovers quickly without to much pain !! So sorry she has to go through this especially at such a young age !! Good Luck !!
My goodness my teeth are in such a terrible state smashed and rotten! I have been terrified of the dentist since I was a school child and the school dentist slipped with the drill and cut my tongue. I have not seen a dentist since Covid and my dental practise is no longer seeing NHS patients hence I no longer have a dental practise. I usually have sedation and required a letter to refer me on to the hospital. If my dental surgeon worked with compassion empathy and understanding like I see with you dealing with this 73 old lady I wish I was your patient.
I had a cracked root in the second last tooth on the upper left side. It resulted in an abscess there that of course came on hard on a Friday night. I stuck a needle through the gum where the gum was soft and spongey and to my surprise, and relief, pus came out causing a great relief. Prior to that it ached every time my heart beat 😬. I didn’t know it was a cracked root, that was up to the university of Toronto dental college to find out when peeling back the gum for experimental surgery. They performed a rootectomy.
I had all my teeth pulled, I'm so glad I did . I dealt with absences and very painful toothaches for a very long time. I feel so much better now that they are gone. A lot of people don't understand how your teeth play a big role in your overall health. .
as a dental assistant who often works with an oral surgeon, i thought “pfft, how bad can it be? I’ve seen a lot.” and BOY THIS IS BAD. I can handle a LOT but just imagining the smell of this one had me gagging 😭🤣
I'm a wound care specialist nurse and the only thing missing was Smell O Vision!. I deal with all types of wounds on other parts of the body with similar consequences.
See kids, this is what happens when you don't brush your teeth. Older generations mainly go this road, they were used to their relatives and friends also being toothless. Guess they did not want to be left behind and out of the norm.
What a courageous patient she is!! WOW🤩 I don’t think I would have had the guts to go through with this invasive procedure but rather would have put something up my nose when drinking something!😳😆 🤔 God Bless this lady and I am so glad she recovered nicely!🙏🏼 Great work Doctor Bolton…..I wished you were practicing in Canada! Take care💖👋🏼🇨🇦
