Yeah, we're definitely in a metropolitan area. They're especially abundant this year, and are coming from a nearby park. All of my tomatoes vanished one night. Plants were fine, but every single tomato gone lol. I've also noticed spots in the yard, you know, where the grass was matted. So I suspected this was our culprit but this was my first glimpse of the bandit.
The deers runs through our yard quite a bit too. We do live in a more rural area though, small town too. We get all kinds though. Just found 2 baby ducks a few weeks ago. Have a toad family that lives on the porch. Many squirrel and chipmunk visitors. Humming birds and Woodpeckers. Rabbits, coyotes, and humongous dragonflies. The house does abut a small like forest on the corner lot of a cul de sac. Good luck with the deer, they do look quite content. Perhaps it sees your yard as a safe place to rest and recoup? Glad to hear you are feeling better. At the end of the day, you have to take care of you. Your physical health, your mental health, all of it. If you need to step away from certain things/people for your own wellbeing, shame on anyone who would chastise you for doing it. Discord can be quite crazy at times too. As someone who is on 61 servers, I don't spend much time on most of them, simply because there isn't time enough in the day to do so. That doesn't mean that I don't want to support folks and interact when I can.
Right. In theory, I want to be supportive of everyone out there but like you say there isn't enough time in the day, and we have to prioritize ourselves when it comes to health, well being, etc. It's just a matter of figuring out what works for us at any given time. I relate. It's taxing to form an online community. When it becomes work, it stops being fun. Keep a close knit circle and your days will be happy. When you expand and know more people is when it starts to get unpleasant.
Absolutely. And that's really my goal, just game with a few like minded individuals. You're right, even in the example of guilds or gaming sub groups it can be really strenuous trying to maintain things. Not that my discord server was something that required serious management but after awhile I couldn't help but ask, what am I doing?

We will, and so do I. I posted an update, or a follow up today. The server on discord was the biggest issue for me, and I'm really glad it's gone. Deleting my discord account is something I've wavered on, however. I thought it was the right decision but like I mentioned in Dracos stream, I've made some pretty rash decisions in the last month. I have to say, this saddens me. Mostly because I have missed out on a lot of chances to hang out and stay connected. I have pulled back quite a bit myself socially. I don't know when the last video was I posted, or the last time I talked to anyone in discord other than my daughter while she was in college. Real talk though. I feel like the dynamic shifted drastically after Di’s passing, and it doesn’t feel like the same ever since. It was like something shifted, and then it just felt like people migrated away, and kind of formed their own subgroups within the community, and we became divided. And after that, some of us changed how we interacted with each other. Not gonna lie, though, I feel like I have been MIA in terms of hanging out with the gang. I did kind of drift away and start doing my own thing separately from everybody else, and I did want to apologize about that. I did get tied up with Real life, things and my job and then of course, coming back to the original reason why I started it by channel as you know I am quite ambitious when it comes to that and I am starting to feel the problem of it being like a second job to me, and the more that I need to invest time into the less time I have for anybody else and their needs. I’ve ended up, not playing quite a few game nights because of my commitment to making my content. And I’m starting to kind of see the struggle of trying to maintain a friendship with other people, while at the same time pursuing my very time consuming goals of trying to be a profitable RU-vidr/content creator . As a result, I haven’t really hung out in your server like I typically did, and we became largely unavailable for our usual hangout times. While work was partially to blame, it was also my own ambition to foster a community of my own. I know you had reached out to me about my absence and I do apologize again like I said, I have not really been able to be around because of what I have been focusing on, but I don’t want you to take that as a reflection on how I feel about our friendship I realize it in pursuit of my socialization interest that I will ignore a lot of the things that I’m working on and I can’t seem to balance out both of those things unfortunately very well. The nights we would spend playing grounded or path of Titans, or sea of thieves till six or 7 o’clock in the morning (sorry, Mrs. Mattak) was something that I begin to realize was distracting me, and contributing to my laziness with making content on the regular for myself. I enjoyed the nights with you , Kaspa, Smoke, and Joooodah and our nightly see of thieves galleon moments. I missed those from time to time. And I don’t want to sound like I am tooting my horn here, but correct me if I am off base, but I tried to be more of a community hype man and would pour my socialization output needs, and I feel like I stopped doing that which contributed to the decline and casual conversation that took place in your discord server. I realize that the majority of posting that goes on in any of the servers that I have been a part of aside from Rob’s is just people sharing their socialization links. I can understand why you would step away and remove your server. I have thought about that often myself in spite of the growth that I do see because it still feel very artificial and it is definitely a lot of work to foster a community even with somebody with my level of ambition. I feel like I would be blowing smoke up your ass though if I did say that I will try to be around for us to hang like we used to because I know that I will go back to originally why I focused on my RU-vid channel. But I do consider you a very good friend of mine, and hopefully you do not vanish quietly into the night and returning to me not knowing you anymore. And I don’t mean death or anything like that I mean just you leaving RU-vid and discord completely lol. Hopefully I was able to get my point across here. It’s not that I didn’t want to hang with you guys, I just know that I wouldn’t get anything done if I did.
I'm skipping ahead in my responses just to let you know that I've read this and I hear you my friend. You touched on a number of things that I want to address in more detail, and I will of course. All I'll say prior to that is thank you for your honesty and your well thought response. I'll say more very shortly.
I feel like yes and no with the Di part. Yes, I agree that things changed afterwards or around that time but I also feel like they had already started to a little bit prior to her passing. It's something to consider though. I know that around the same time as her passing I was busy getting into a prideful war with Smoke, and I'm sure that that didn't help. Given the circumstances of the moment, I should have gotten over myself. Especially considering how fond I am of Smoke. Still, all that aside, her passing did break the house I believe. When i eventually pass away I'm going to sit her down and have a long talk about that. With all respect to everyone else in the community, there was a comfort and comradery around the folks you named. When it was You, Kaspa, Quicksmoke, Jooodah, myself, and the occasional special guest we were in top form. What's stupid is that I didn't know it at the time or perhaps more aptly I took it for granted. Until it was gone. Jooodah was around occasionally, but the remaining four were almost a nightly quartet. And when you get four friends in one of these MMO games, whew they can do some damage. Until the server gets its revenge anyways, lol. But late in the channel, late in the discord server, those were the days. You nailoed it. Then it was you, me and Kaspa. Eventually just me and Kaspa and most often not even that. I wasn't streaming, wasn't even playing a fair amount of the time. You had your priorities, and believe me when I say I understand and encourage. I want you to do what is best for you. What is right for your ambition. And it is clear that you are, so I would never hold that against you. If I didn't care for you as much as I do, Zul, I'd selfishly prefer that you shelf your goals and play until sunrise. Admittedly, I did get a little paranoid and reach out to you, especially after messages in discord disappeared. Your answer more than satisfied me though, and I was hearted to just know that I hadn't driven you off. You were a sort of hype man on the server, i think that's very appropriate. Kaspa too. Odd as well. For some stretches I feel like you guys were keeping it going, and I think after awhile you have to ask yourself why you shouldn't dedicate those energies to your own channel, to your own server? The answer is obvious. You should. And you're right in saying that the majority of server posts seem to be advertising anymore. Which is fine, I guess, but it kind of saps the interest. You're also correct that if we took to doing the quartet all night again we'd get nothing else done. Those were days that I'd sleep until 4pm if a could. I generally couldn't. It made the days harder, as I'm sure it did for you too. And then when night fell, it was like, well the day was so damn lame that I can't wait to get back on with the quartet again. It easily became the highlight of my day, not just because it was fun, but also because it stripped the following day of anything meaningful. It was a weird trap, but good memories all the same. Your standing, in my eyes, can never be diminished. Even if I were to circle the earth and return, I should hope that you will recognize me as I do you. Your genuine friend.

Endings are a bit sad. That supposed final chapter, but as you know it's those chapters in between, the bulk of the thing that serves as a true testament to whether we had fun or no. And I'd be lying if I said that I hadn't had a lot of fun along the way. More than I could ever account for. You were there. Kat was there. Hell, Kat was the door man in my case. She checked the invitation list, saw the desperation in my eyes, and said "Wait here, I'll see if I can get you inside." And she did. Then came big fun. I'm eternally grateful for the both of you. I personally never had an annoying experience with you, but either way I am very glad you see where ever you may need to grow as a person and are addressing it in the way you can. It is a sucky thing that sometimes people start to distance themselves whether it be because of real life or other reasons. I know if I could have been more active, I would have.
