I think it was more of theaters and films. I never heard a single linguistic question or any social sciences. It was history, literature, arts, mostly film and theaters and some Science.
I definitely think specialization and heavy research field on your specific study can hinder learning about general knowledge. It is interesting that you didn't give the average age of these players, as you usually do. Just because they are much older than your usual players is no reason to do that.

@@user-nb3mq3cg8k I can't really stop a rant I wrote 6 months ago - it's 6 months stopped! I'm afraid this quiz series is not about specialisation, but about more general knowledge on top of the specialist knowledge, and all teams competing in it are going to need a wide spread of knowledge areas.

Clearly (as seen before between other teams) Jeremy seemed to have something against Queen Mary, he kept telling them to hurry up; but for the same amount of time never told Exeter. He has done this before with other teams too. Quite unprofessional behavior.
I wish Sandi Toksveg or Stephen Fry were the moderator of this show. I know it's University Challenge, but the current moderator takes the stiff professor too far. Dry toast is more interesting.
