What a great match! Did anyone count how many starters O'Neill secured? Two very impressive teams, so very much looking forward to the final. I think we saw the winning team today. Great breadth of knowledge and excellent teamwork. Thanks for the upload - you're a legend.
I count 9 starters for O'Neill of the 11 his side correctly answered. Worried they're a little top-heavy but we'll see if he can do it again tomorrow :).
I really liked how on the spelling round, Edwards had a look of "I've never even heard of that word before" before BOOM have that for a spelling! Haha that really was impressive!
Tybalt Macbeth thanks very much for posting this! This is one of, if not the, best of the Christmas matches I've ever seen. A great game with wonderful teams, either of which could have won. Congratulations to today's winner and I really look forward to seeing them in the final!
Thanks Tybalt! Shame those two teams weren't in the final together rather than the semi as I think they were by far the best ones in the competition. Some superb buzzing in by O'Neill!
Finally a great match on the Christmas edition where both teams were good and fought hard with no sign of pompousness or self-importance. Too bad Exeter had to go. These two teams would have been the perfect finale to wind up 2022 UC.
A fabulous semi-final. Difficult to suggest otherwise that the winner of this one should win it outright. Found tonight's epsiode a little harder than the previous semi, but still quite happy with my own score. Delighted also with another flag round 😁 Thanks as always for the upload. Looking forward now to tomorrow's grand finale!
I did not expect a question about Spoonbridge! As a Minnesotan I knew instantly that it was a cherry. Kind of funny to watch the team work it out from just "shiny stone fruit"!
Great match, the best yet! Baliol could spell, but it's hard to imagine they actuall attended school, I mean maths in any secondayry school would include the rules for odd numbers and the name for part of a circle. OK. maybe they didn't have set theory, but I'm still surprised considering how much they knew bout practically everything else!
Congrats. I also got them even though it’s just an increasingly neglected hobby. Very pleased with getting Telemann, almost suggested Scarlatti for the Handel. Many great questions this match.
I like shouting out the answer before he even starts asking the question, I got magnesium tonight on the minerals bonus round. Getting a music bonus right, before the track starts is my favourite. I got Mignight Cowboy harmonica a few weeks back.
O'Neill can easily play Seth Rogen in his biopic. and... To Reeta Chakrabarti (if she's reading this) - should you ever need a place to sit, my face would be more than willing to rise to the occasion.
