Welcome to Everyday Tech... everyday tech for everyday people. In this channel, I'm mainly going to be reviewing tech that I use on a daily basis. There is no particular area of tech that I will be covering. I cover everything from home automation to Zoom calling. Please consider subscribing if you like what you see.
Not really a travel router when you still need to connect it to the internet to share the connection. If you could use a SIM card and 4g modem then yeah not bad but rasp ap cannot
great review! I have a K2 Pro at the office for my PC and a K7 at home for my Mac (and the PC when I work from home). I love the K7 but the size is a bit too small, specifically, the combination of the function and number rows and having to use the fn1 and fn2 keys. It can get a bit confusing when the shift is also needed depending on which key you're trying to use. I've been wanting to get a K3 Pro because I also really like the low profile style of the K7 and this video may have persuaded me to go ahead and make the upgrade!
Great review. How about this scenario. Connect your phone to a wireless network, NOT cell network, and then tether to the router and broadcast to other devices. Will that still work? For example, on a plane where you would have to purchase wifi. Purchase wifi on one device, tether to the router, then use the router to allow other devices to "piggy back" on the purchased wifi connection. Would that be possible? We will be travelling with a group of 6 in January and I want to know if that can be done with this travel router. Thanks.
Hello. I need your help. I purchased the Stream deck, Stream deck xl and Stream deck Plus. My aim is to control the software FaithLife Proclaim that is a software for Presentations Church. On the Elgato MarketPlace, I downloaded and installed the plugin FaithLife on my MacBook Pro. But after affecting Actions to the Stream Deck there is no effect on the Proclaim software. Maybe there is some configurations to do before getting connection between the stream deck and the software. Could you help me to fix the issue? Thanks. Leon
damn on video its looks very cheap, but they want too much money for 104pro , its have too much rows between caps and looks very very for dust, i think better buy something else
sound test is still off and muffled - I saw another review on Keychron K3 Pro that sounded vastly different and much cleaner, and wasn't just because of different switches Other than that - fantastic review. The option to buy Keychron K3 just came up for less than full price and I can now peacefully pass on it because this review as well as others confirmed to me how much I despise low-profile keyboards - less of a satisfying pressing of keys feel, and absolutely no thock sounds. Appreciate the thorough take on it!
Hello there! Thank you for the video, you really helped with that GK6+ tutorial. Could you please help me with uploading images/GIFs? I'm having trouble making the software recognize the LCD screen... :(
I think it does not work on Rasberry PI Model B even though I used the latest OS and the VPN server was successfully installed on another similar hardware. Any ideas or inout, please? is there support for RasAP software? Thank you.
great video and straight forward to install. However, when I get to the interface and try to save my configuration to create my own name of HotSpot and even change the name of the default one. The Save Button is greyed out! I tried all kind of browsers but all the same. I am running on a Model B RasPi. and all you previous modules worked on the P1 Model B - any idea? Anyone?
I have the Slate router and while I can connect to local wifi, when I try to connect my Roku Ultra to it, the Roku reports there is no Internet! I am using the Beryl AX at home to create a VPN. But the Roku not having Internet through the Slate is a BIG problem. Thoughts or solutions?
Dude: There are MULTIPLE requests from people that I'm certain you would LIKE to "follow" you about how to get the software to load onto their PC. Not one answer from you though. It would even be okay if you answered us back and said you had no idea HOW to do that....but to blow us off? Not cool man.
Some time I see these comments.. and some times I forget to follow up. I apologize. A simple search through the Osee Website will get you to the software. Here's a link. osee-tech.com/pages/gostream-pc-software I'll make sure it's in the description.
@@EverydayTechTV I appreciate your reply...but....I've downloaded that file AT LEAST 5X. It is "installed" on my PC. When I click on the GoStream.exe. file, it then pops up with "NO DEVICE CONNECTED" My GoStream most certainly IS "connected" via LAN port to the router that is on the same network as the PC laptop (Windows 10). The screen also says "Create Stream XML File". No explanation...no instructions in any documentation that came with the device....Is it necessary to create a "Stream XML File" in order to have the software get installed on my PC? I don't even know what the heck a "Stream XML File" IS .... I realize you don't work for Go Stream - but you are the ONLY one who I can find ANYWHERE on RU-vid OR at OCEE corporate HQ that is willing to TRY to answer these type questions....and I'm pretty sure that I am not the ONLY knucklehead out here that is confused and ready to toss this POS through the window....
I actually just found I had a cheap Chinese made capture card, plugged it in, and found that it worked flawlessly with my iPad Pro 11 and my Fuji X-T5.
I just setup Companion on a Raspberry Pi. It appears to be working as well as my Companion on Windows. I was able to add the GoStream device files to my windows setup successfully. I want to add it to the Companion Pi as well Does anyone know how I would add the device files for the GoStream to the Raspberry Pi? I don't know much about Linux. I did see a companion folder (Assuming that is where all the files and directories are) from the command line, but cannot CD into it. I get permissions denied. Any ideas?
I've upgraded 2 different 2012 Mac minis and I have to say if you perform any upgrade that requires the motherboard to be removed, think twice. There are very fragile tiny connectors on the MB that hook up to temperature sensors and I've had them snap off with the slightest of pressure. If damaged, the computer will work, but if it can't read the disk temperature it will run the cooling fan full blast (very noisy). There's a work-around (or there used to be) using Mac fan speed control software. In any case, another option is to get an external USB3 enclosure with an SSD and install the OS on that, then hold down the option key at boot (or use System Settings > Startup Disk) to select the external drive as the boot volume. Even through the USB3 port is limited to 5GB/sec it's still way faster than the internal 5400 RPM HDD. Another option is to look at a Mac mini 2014. You can buy them at OWC fairly cheap with lots of RAM, an internal SSD and a faster CPU than the 2012 mini. It's a decent little system and supports macOS 12 Monterey. Perfect for family members or undemanding tasks.
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem that the TP-Link can be a "mesh" node like the ASUS RT-57 Go. I currently have my home setup with an ASUS RT-58U as my main router and an ASUS RT-57 Go as a mesh node. When I travel, I will be using the RT-57 Go as a tether to my phone for my devices in my RV. The problem with that is that my carrier limits my monthly data to 40G. At home I use PDANET through a laptop to my ASUS RT-58U for my main router. PDANET bypasses the tether of the phone using a virtual interface to connect to the PC over the tether so it looks like an ethernet connection.
What if the coffee shop does not allow port forwarding as used in PAT and the coffee shop only allows the IP address to be forwarded therefore limiting your devices connected to the TP-Link one IP address. Therefore, the coffee shop will only send traffic on the 172.16.101.0 network without ports attached (i.e. 172.16.101.17 and not 172.16.101.17:10012) and the TP-Link will be the only host. The TP-Link needs a port number so it knows what local IP address to translate the packet to. I suppose that the coffee shop couldn't do this because it would also affect the application that the traffic is directed toward.
When this device is in AP mode, can i connect it to a WIFI network (i.e. not a WAN ethernet cable) to get access to the network? And if so, can the WIFI be run in VPN mode?
AP mode specifically for connecting to an ethernet cable. When we talk about connecting to another Wifi network, we're talking about Hotspot mode. This connects to an existing Wifi network and creates its own Wifi network for your devices to use. Yes, you can connect to a VPN in this mode.
Hi I know this has nothing to do with this video but I saw your video from 2022 about the Mac mini from 2012 and wondered if I could reach out to you as I had some questions regarding it as I bought the exact one you had in the video
@@EverydayTechTV I just wanted to know if it would work as an everyday computer nothing to much but I also bought an 8 gb ram to replace the 4gb one that’s already their
Personally I think it would do fine. You're not going to get the latest OS and you probably shouldn't run things like Photoshop or any heavy type of software. For basic computing needs, it should definitely be enough.
Oh they don’t communicate with each other?? Then these are going back. We had a fire and had the old model that communicates with each other. That feature definitely saved lives. We bought these because some people were not home when the fire happened and wish they got alerted. Didn’t know they do not communicate with each other, the Amazon ad is deceiving.
I have used my GoStream Deck in concert with my ATEM Extreme ISO SDI. Using the GoStream to take multiple HDMI inputs (Usually multiple laptops) to bring into one input on the ATEM via a single HDMI to SDI. So far this has worked well for conferences and live presentations.
Everything worked exactly like you said it would and it was easy to set up and install. So thankful to be able to use 2 additional monitors again -Thank you!
Amazon was running a flash sale for Opal for $30 a few minutes ago. So it was easy choice. It will arrive in 4 days. I am also researching WiFi 6 routers for when the local Service Provider completes Fiber Optic installation within the next month. The I’ll be able to experiment with home WiFi network and the travel router 😢 Really appreciate you sharing your thoughts & videos.
In this video I was using a "gooseneck iPad holder". You can search for that on Amazon. I have since moved to an Ulanzi iPad mount paired with a superclamp from SmallRig. I'm eventually going to do an updated version of this project in the near future.
