My basic question is whether or not there’s a DVR available to replace my current Night Owl X DVR system and use the same cameras that came with it? If it helps, the DVR system came with one 60-ft. coaxial cable per camera, BNC connectors (yellow connector) and DC connectors (red connector) that are connected into the Video Input ports on the back panel of the DVR. There are four-way power splitter cables that are plugged into the DC connectors of the cables and then into the camera power supply.

Got married and moved from the city to the countryside where there was no security and I had to basically do it on my own. Purchased Night Owl X 5 years ago and had to hardwire the entire house on my own. 😩 The DVR has crashed twice and I lost all recordings both times as the export video option didn’t work; and there was no other solution nor help desk available. It’s frustrating not being able to figure a technical issue out that should be easily resolved. Done with being fed up. Looking forward to taking a look at your website.

16 feet is really high to mount a license plate capture camera. I have tested an LPR camera installed on my house at about 8.5 feet high and set back 35 feet from the road, and that is pushing the limits for license plate capture. If the camera is centered directly on the driveway and you zoom the lens all the way out on our Viewtron LPR-IP4, you may be OK for human readable license plate capture.
