I remember wearing them to elementary school in the mid seventies and I hated them. They were so hard to unsnap and resnap when you had to use the bathroom. Plus I never was a girly dresser.
Bodysuits became popular because it meant our shirts/tops would stay tucked into our hip-hugger slacks. And bikini underpants became popular because nobody wanted the waistband of their underpants up to their waist when the waistband of their jeans were down around their hips.
There are already many countries already set up and designed for what most of us in America want. Free healthcare, healthy food, the most beautiful and skinny people in the world, you don't even have to pay for gas because you can just walk everywhere. Screw the states it's time to leave!
Body suits were great except when you had to go to the bathroom most had snaps at the crotch. They are perfect to wear with hip hugger pants. I had my share.
This would be a really good base for someone to do the cosplay. I'd probably take a lot of inspo from your video to up the quality but I'm afraid you're not too crazy in your belief that they stole your pattern. Like others have said, they could definitely play it off as a "we don't even know who you are" thing. Especially since the pattern is free.
The mundane is my favorite part of history! What were the girlies talking about? What was *the* toy to have at the park? What pet names were popular? Those are the things I find far more interesting than every vintage piece being some phenomenal find!
As someone who moved from Minnesota to Florida, I thrifted ALL the time in Minnesota and got some awesome finds, but Florida thrifting is impossible! The stores in my current area also sort by color rather than size 😂

Wore body suits a lot in the 70’s with jeans that were low rider waists (barely above hip level.) It was a great way to keep everything from riding up and exposing a big patch of skin everytime you bent down. They didn’t just come in knit fabric, like t shirts. I remember having a long-sleeved white silk bodysuit that could be worn with dressy skirts.
