Wow, my friend. Welcome to crystal blue idealism. Enjoy this forever. I'm in my sixties as well, and have perhaps been disappointed, but I'm still an idealist. And this song is all about wanting a better earth for everyone.
"Sweet Cherry Wine" is a song by Tommy James and the Shondells from their 1969 album, Cellophane Symphony. It hit number seven on the Billboard Hot 100[1] and rose to number six on the Canadian charts. This psychedelic song was released at the height of psychedelia, right after one previous 'mind expanding' song by Tommy James and the Shondells, "Crimson and Clover", and before "Crystal Blue Persuasion"
Also if ya dig this song Crimson and Clover and love this hippy song 😊 on youtube you may enjoy Where Roses Grow Live by Rez Band. I remember hearing the song by Led Zepp " In My Time of Dyin " during my drug years and made me think about death and Jesus. Then a hippy friend that dug Jesus told me more of Jesus love and forgiveness and how I could also know Jesus love. So in 1981 I cried out to Jesus and wow man He came into my life and I had and have so much joy and peace and now know that through Jesus when I die I will be with Him in Heaven. Hey Jesus loves each of you also and yall can know Him if you are at all open. Just cry out to Him and also read the Gospel of John in the Bible or check out the movie on RU-vid. 😀
I am from California - 25 minutes from Disneyland... I saw this and was like where is this at? Paused the video at 4 seconds and the banner on the wall read, "Paul C... The Bitt..." and then again at 9 seconds and read, "...End" Quick Google search revealed - "The Bitter End" in NYC . Definitely will be visiting this place when I visit NYC :)
What an Awesome song. I remember growing up and hearing this song. Wow to have those years back. Songs like this just don't get written anymore. Hopefully people don't forget the simpler things and times in our lives!!
Not meaning any disrespect, but Dionne Warwick is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and these guys aren't - when you look at the body of work this group put out, it's a crime. When you think Cher, do you think of rock and roll? What a total sham the R&R HoF is - a joke, for crying out loud. Unbelievable!!!
Yes, I'm a dumbass for forgetting what my guitarist said. I never did see him live here in his second "prime" 10 years ago. But I did get to see Brian Wilson.
I love this guy's voice & the band. It's 2024 & I'm still listening from when I was mid teen. My big brother ( 15) introduced them to me. He passed away soon after.
