Maintaining form is about strength. Roids augment strength. Doping isn't hard to figured out. When someone suddenly goes from leaving the sport because they aren't doing well... to becoming the fastest ever (while away from the track).....
Shorter height / legs = faster start & low top end speed also mid / average top end speed at best, they normally start fast but fade in tge latter stages of the race. Taller height = slower start, high top end speed at best, they normally start slower but have great closing speed and top end speed . The reason being is because shorter sprinters get into their running or strides faster while taller sprinters it takes them a while to get into their stride hence why they tend to have better top end speed. Though i must say there are instances where the roles are sort of reversed there are tall athletes who start well but fade in the latter stages and there are shorter athletes who have slower starts and have high top end speed but its sort of a rare case. This is easily identifiable in the sprints.
i started track at 17, in the beginning my 60m was 7.9s and my 100m was 12s. I have been training for 9 months and then my 60m became 7.5s and 100m as 11.9s. But for educational reasons i stopped training for 5 almost 6 months now. Am i finished? or can i still make a comeback and break the 11s.
I watched a lot of videos, almost the whole women sprint history available here, and in my humble opinion there's only one who owns the throne. No sir, it's not Ashford, certainly not Flo Jo, nor it is Tori Bowie. It's Merlene Ottey, the most graceful woman sprinter who ever walked the lane. No big muscles, no shemale look, just pure speed and gracefulness. One and only Merlene Ottey, no one else even close.
It’s heartbreaking to see some of Asafa’s pre-race videos. There are times he looks terrified as if he’s gonna poop his pants. People say he cracks in the big races, but we don’t know if he overcame the worst of anxiety to become a great athlete. I’d love to hear Asafa’s side of the story. Maybe one day 🤞🏽
No body possess a greater sprinting technique than Asafa Powell. If he had his performance anxiety, nervousness and all that on point, he would possibly demolish bolt.
No no no Sprint Media - you for the French ladies national 100 m team epic race where Christine Arron ran an epic final leg ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-de9Sk6Jvunc.html&ab_channel=SJTSports
I was a 5’7 sprinter. I have a very powerful lower body along with small feet. I wear a 7.5us. That means my feet are lighter and can hit the ground faster.
i think there advantages/disadvantages to heights at any distance, but how the athlete trains and uses their advantages in performance is what matters most. I can imagine at more extreme ends of height, there could be bigger disadvantages, but I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of those disadvantages have to do with the impacts of how living in the rest of society is not physically optimized for those heights (with variations based on country) which can affect training and performance in a very straightforward physical performance sport.
I think Bolt not improving past his 2009 feats is nature's way of preventing the sport from being broken 😂 imagine we get a 9.49 and 18.99.... we will be getting a situation worse than flojo, not to say that it is already somewhat like that right now for the men
Technique ? Just technique ? Not considering , height , strength, stamina and leg speed ? Cuz, you can be a slow leg speed , weak, and short person with no stamina , and have perfect technique and do your 20+ second 100m runs with prefect technique. Usain Bolt does not have the perfect or best technique just because he is the fastest. I vote for Frankie Fredricks. He has the most prefect technique of any runner I have ever seen, in my opinion.
