The life of a car audio fanatic, constantly changing and chasing the system that hits the sweet spot, let's go man, just a question for you is it really necessary to run a 0/1 gauge power and ground wire for a SQ/L sound system or a good and proper 4 gauge will do. Thanks
If you're sound deadening in cold weather make sure you have a heat gun to warm it up so it sticks better. cold deadener on a cold panel is a nightmare.
I was very happy with my cheap Puzu DSP installed in my old SUV. But until last week, when I tuned my customer's Shelby with Audison Bit series, my happiness is gone. 😂😂
i said it when you got that 10 channel and I'll say it again you are not going to be happy with the jp95 sq. i have 1 it's not a bad amp great for it's size. and a relatively small 1 amp solution, like you said it's solid but it won't meet your standards it's still great for a everyday system. i ran it for a month or two it just had a strange tone to me on the highs, the sub channel is great. i'm a fosgate guy so i threw the rockford's back in. I'll put the jp95 in my Yaris.at the end of the day their is a reason cheaper amps are cheap.( questionable low quality Chinese components). quality old class a/b beats cheap modern class d full range all day long. the JL audio XDM1000/5 is a great SQ class d 5 channel but it's 999 usd. D4S hands down produces the largest variety of amps that range from low to high price, small to large and all of them in many colors.
I will certainly never buy Down4Sound again. The amps are mediocre at best (if you dont mind hiss, or start up noises), but the customer service is fn terrible. Price to power ratio is great, but if you get a bad one out the box and install it....... you are F'ed.
My vote is for the Atoto. I have the S8 Ultra 10''. For the price its great and sounds fantatic to my ears. The only grip I have is that it is a little bit glitchy sometimes. For reference my previous head unit was a Kenwood DMX 1037. It cost me $1300, and it died 7 months later. I wanted to replace it with something more affordable that had Optical. I was instantly blown away by the clarity and crispness of the highs. Im thinking its the optical that made the significant difference, not so much the Atoto brand. Regardless Im certainly happy with it.
4:14 would you say it’s because those amps have a THD of 00.4% with a noise ratio of 100? (Mrv 300) Could you do a video of the caps and power supply when you plan to fix it Kinda suprised with all the work you’ve done to your car you haven’t sound deadened anything must b a solid car when you first got it haha😂 Do you ever have issues with these off brand headunits if you had a few to name off what would it be ?
A great tip to stop panels rattling is the use neoprene tape/speaker tape, stop all those annoying rattles with trim pieces, anywhere where plastic touches metal, you know how tedious this is and the more fastidious with it the better the results, if you are not to precious about it glue and epoxy are also great.
I have three 3554 amps. They are not in use right now but excellent pieces. The other black Alpine you have is my favourite aesthetic but, man, it's almost 35 years old!
It is that good😎 The problem with it is that it's low power, so it gets overlooked and dismissed. But for a modern active setup for mids and tweets it is an amazing compact amp.
Hi love the videos id do the amp first keeping everything equal dsp and speakers then the head unit. totaly agree we have brands we love also kinds of sound we are use to and we like im focal and jl but saving for a helix dsp and the orignal daddy genesis big daddy to run my car full active.
In your example you set your gain to be optimized at 450hz because it was the loudest frequency in the dsp. Why would it clip at 900hz if the eq was flat at that frequency? Wouldn't everything not clip anymore because it would be quiter than 450hz?
I'm excited to see the video for the alpine 3554. I have personally run that amplifier several times and it always worked well . I have the 3555 now. But I haven't played with it much and I've had many MRV. F 400 and they were amazing when they came out in their day. They were simply unmatched for their class. And I really like that amplifier as well. So I'm anxious to see the repairs and upgrades. And then the test of Before & After and what the results are on that older Alpine as I have many of those also and I love that series.
@@TheGodofSEO it has nothing to do with my hearing. When a DSP has limited functionality it cannot be "best on the market". Why should anyone buy a dedicated DSP if they can make the same adjustments on the head unit?
I have spent years nerding about designing and building my speakers and subs for my home. I then decided to make the perfect box for a 8" driver i had lying around so i could have a bit better sound i the car. (it rolls off at around 30hz with plenty output for an 8" so im happy) I just found out one of the speakers in the front is dead so im gonna have to replace them but why not also put some dampening material in the doors? and the trunk too ! i mean i might as well while im at it... oh well one thing leads to another and oh man, i sure hope that i know when to stop :D
