Another hunting & fishing channel focused mainly on the Central & Lower North Island of New Zealand. Its just me " Thane Young" and my mates out there filling the freezer and giving each other a bit of shit and having a good time. We're not pretending to be experts in anything but do like what we like in terms of gear. You will see some long-range shooting & hunting, bow hunting, fly-fishing, reloading, the occasional gear review...and maybe the odd bit of tree felling. We put in the hard yards with gear we use and the area we hunt, we plan and plan....and plan
As usual you've provided us with another informative interlude to ponder. I've been meaning to ask you, what's happened to the Big O, Owen. Haven't seen him for a while, is he OK?
No how you feel mate I was in the hospital for a long time had to wear calibers on my legs for a further two years after that was never the same after that. I 🤙
BROTHER! I FRRRREAKING LOVE IT. My family is a logging family, too! I live in northern AZ now but am from the Pacific North West near the Red Woods Nor Cal. Our Douglas Fir trees are pretty huge, too. Dangerous work for sure! Looks like you guys have some pretty good size tree there. I have the same spikes and run Stihls too! I do some tree removals but mainly cut a lot of firewood. That's some steep coutry. Must have yarder logging too? (Also called high lead) Looks like you didn't miss a step. Good job! Now I really want to come over there!!! And yes i have seen a big foot when i was a small boy. Im from Hoopa CA. The book called the Hoopa Project by David Paulites is fairly interesting if your into bigfoots. David also does 411 Missing CanAm. Thanks for sharing this Rogee! Bad to the bone. Didn't know you are a Monkey Beaver😅😅😅😅😅
Geeze James, thats a chunky repy!!!.....we 99% log plantation species such as Radiata Pine, Douglas fir, Corsicsan Pine, Larch and blue gum over here. Alot of our country is steep so we do use a alot of Yarder systems, Swingers, Static Pole and Harvest lines. Back in my day there was mostly High lead, Scab and Northbend(Skyline) hauling systems nowadays it seems to be more mechanised carriages and grapples. Ahhhh.....you can keep ya Bigfoot over there too!!!....I really enjoy climbing coz its technical and challenging😉🤙🏽
I was about to say "at least you didnt have to climb anything other than the hill"... until i watched the end. Tino pai tō mahi my bro. Love watching a master at his craft.
Hi, can you please mention to your foreign viewers that you are cutting down plantation trees and not our forests? I have often seen people respond to seeing our logging gangs as cutting down our forests. They don’t realise that we have millions of trees in plantations and our native forests (as few of them that are left) are protected. Cheers mate Harera
Better than a day at work any day and still good to watch. Stay safe until the next time. Dont forget to get the fly rods out also, not sure when the season is in NZ.
Once again Rogee, a great vid with good learns, who would have thought sun strike would Fark you over, still got be good just being out there doing it ! Thanks for taking us all along for the mission.
Can be hard leaving empty handed although - your editing is getting sick and the soundtracks recently are so on point. Your videos are getting a real cool feel to them with the tunes and story telling. Makes them really pleasant viewing
