I make videos building my boat and fishing all over GA. I fish mostly for bass and build "bass boat" style boats. I really enjoy tournament fishing in Electric Jon Boat Bass Fishing Tournaments. I want to share my experiences and what I learn while fishing in tournaments, especially on a local level.
Hope you enjoy, I appreciate everyone that wants to follow along!
According to our past president.electric boats can kill you if they sink. I would think you guys wouldn't want to use them. Also you could get eaten by a shark?
Hi Nate I purchased the heavy duty center storage glove box from Tiny Boat Nation they will not help me with the problem I have with it the problem with it is that it leaks really bad I think it’s at the hinge but can’t tell for sure I have not changed it in anyway it’s a matter of fact it still looks new I like it but can’t use it for anything it’s useless to me if I knew it would leak I would not have purchased it at all for $329 I wish they would have helped me so I’m hoping you can I’m not asking for something for nothing I would just like to get it fixed. Thanks Ed
I am trying to replace the Jon boat bench seat foam and 1x4 boards. But i want to know what should I use for the foam. I can’t find anywhere where someone refilled the bench seats with foam. The only thing I can find is removing the foam and turning into storage. I know some don’t like them. But I found out that foam helps the boat to float in case of sinkage. I am new to boats. But I want to keep it at spec and be safe than sorry. The bench seats are not attached to the floor. They are mounted to sides/walls of the boat. Can someone help me out. What should I use instead of expanding foam or if so where I can find it.
Sorry for the probably ignorant comment / question. At the 24:20 mark, I don't get the point of the drain hole out the side of the boat. I get the pump, pumping in water to the livewell, but what is purpose of allowing it to "drain" from that side when you have the drain in the bottom of the livewell and also the overflow on the opposite side. Seems at least in my head kind of pointless. I guess I don't see the point of of that component. I haven't seen the full application of one of these systems so maybe I am missing some of the core functionality.
What kind of runtime and speed do you get from the 6.0 and that battery? Currently have a 14 ft v hull with the 3.0 and the e80. Looking to possibly upgrade boats and the motor to the 6.0. Looking at almost your same size/setup
It's pretty cool seeing how your experience building out these little boats has expanded over the years. In a way it was a good thing you shelved this project for a while. A lot has changed and now it's getting a very spiffy redo.
If you live in a freezing climate where you store your boat, you will have residual water that wont drain out in the design shown. THis will freeze and burst your lines. You need to have a low center of gravity drain so you can completely drain all the water out at the end of the season.
Very nice sir! Working on an old bass tracker conversion to electric to get my boys and i back out on the water down on westpoint and a few local resivoirs
Great work, Ryan! Question, what do you normally use to determine if a flat bottom 1436 Jon boat is level on a trailer? By that I mean, the middle bench, one of the middle ribs? I’m trying to get mine level before I start framing.
I have important question in order to pump water out of tank, can you make it drain while in the water with a side of boat hole instead of back where pump is connected. So don't you need an extra hose and or T connection somewhere when u pull the aretor Because in all install videos it just pumps out back drain. Can you explain or maybe a detailed video for it. I cannot find one to explain that process.
Do you know anyone in Orlando area to help me mount my Garmin Echomap uhd2 to my Pelican Bass raider. Bass pro shop said their guys don't mount to plastic. Wish they told me that before I bought it . Please help me
I'd forget that foam sh!t at least down in the sub floor. It's a boat, it's going to get wet, water will probably get inside. What you need is a bilge pump. Bilge pumps pump water out of the bottom of the boat. I don't know if you're ever going to make one of those things unsinkable? The foam kills the sub floor plan. Because think about it if water got inside the boat it'll be down beneath the sub flooring and you'll be standing on top of the deck and you have your bilge pump that pumps the water out. That's a real basic boat design if you're wanting to install decking. It keeps your feet drier and gives you something to stand and walk on.
Water will need to be fed to the pump, this is why it is important to have the pump mounted as low in the hull as possible. This pump pushes, it does not suck
