Is there an age where Sensory bins become irrelevant? I didn’t realize they weren't just to give preschoolers something to do! My almost 8 year old is a sensory seeker, would he still get something out of doing sensory bins?

Another thing you can add to the classroom is sensory brushes. There are also so many fidget brushes as well. I use the sensory brushes as an adult. I don’t have an occupational therapist, so as an adult, I wouldn’t be able to do the brushing on myself. I mean, I do brush my hands and my arms for sensory. But I will admit, I do use them as fidgets. I’m definitely not going by the rules haha.

Can you please address feeding solids and sensory issues? My 16m is constantly spitting out food even when its soft like omelette/mashed potatoes. Weve been doing blw since 6m but hes not eating much at all. Primary nutrients still come from formula in bottle
We'd highly recommend getting in to see an occupational therapist who can work on this with you! Also looking for a good functional medicine practitioner who can help address nutrition that might be affecting stool!

Depends on the child! It's always more motivating when we do activities with the child! But some children can follow auditory instructions for new motor tasks!
We talk all about this is our webinar and course! BUT these activities can be done daily! Here's the free webinar if you're interested! harkla.co/pages/register-primitive-reflex-webinar-2023
I wish I hadn’t been told not to worry about my baby not crawling! If I could go back in time I would have sought out OT to assist with crawling. She definitely struggles now with writing and certain motor skills and does have retained reflexes.

Any reason why you don't mention ARFID? My daughter has that and she is terrifed of fruits mostly. Just curious because it seems very relevant for parents to also consider. I hadn't heard about the disorder until our pediatrician brought it up last year. Thanks!
I have a wierd question. So I have a wierd suspicion that I might… probably…. Ok most likely have sensory issues and especially triggered at school what do I doooooooo!!!! Mostly from lunch and recess because it’s loud And we aren’t allowed to have headphones
I love OTs and OTAs. I love sensory gyms and have been in them as a kid. I had lots of OT, OT, and speech therapy. I am actually in college right now to become an OTA. I want to help inspire kids and show them that things will get better. Great video here. I have a sensory corner in my bedroom and I have fidget toys and things to look at in that corner. My lycra swing and mini-trampoline are elsewhere.
