Thank you for the kind words! I'm glad you found this valuable. I have a more in-depth course on this stuff coming out this week! Also, that is awesome that you've been grappling for so long!
This match was in 2017. My senior year and last chance to all-american. Jordan Laster vs Cole Mendenhall in the consis of the DI NCAA tourney. We were both good and close to all-american, but fell short. Going from good to great is tough 😅
great video bro. also really liked your low risk video, even though I knew a lot of the moves, but I want to see more of that stuff from high level wrestlers. Often times when I see people come from a high level wrestling background, they show techniques that of course work at a very high level, but it's often that very "wrestler style" stuff, you know, very low to the ground, seems like high risk and stuff. Im just not that comfortable with the low to the ground stuff and risking having someone's weight on me if I fail the shot, even though I know how to peak out, drag out etc. etc., I'd just rather avoid it. Sorry for ranting.
Thank you for the feedback, I appreciate it. I'm focused on teaching more of that stuff right now to my jiujitsu friends so I'll definitely share more here
This is really helpful, you got all the situations, really helpful for a wrestling dummie like me, I always try to wrestle as a whitebelt but I get smoked trying the double leg.
@tru3pain211 I'm glad you find it helpful. I really like the sweep single because it's lower risk than the double leg (in jiujitsu) and there are a lot more options. Let me know if there's anything I can create to help you more on your journey!
If you're afraid to do wrestling style takedowns where you end up cuaght under just learn some judo but unless you're old idk why you wouldn't want wrestling
Yes age and preserving your body. I developed chronic toe pain from trying to learn the penetration step. Also, I want takedowns that don’t involve putting a knee to the ground for street self defense situations
@@wordandcharacter the snatch single and double come to mind for street situations. Especially after seeing them used so much in mma. Thank you for the feedback, I'll make something for this
Same, 36 bad knees etc…got forced into standing start only for 2 hours at open mat 2 days ago and wrecked one of my knees completely from constant takedown work. Even had one opponent disengage every time after a takedown and said he won’t work on the ground at all which forced me to do a stupid amount of impact to my knees for 5 minutes straight after already injuring myself. Thanks for these tips.
When people first learn it, I recommend they use that hand on the floor for balance. Once you're comfortable, you don't need to put that hand on the floor. I have a course for sweep singles coming out soon with all the nitty gritty details. Stay tuned!
This is the key to being a healthy human being!!! Keep on eating this way!!! Add grass fed unsalted butter and you’ll be extra healthy!!! Don’t listen to the globalist feeding us seed oils and grains!!
Great suggestion! Will add that to my list. In the meantime, my new instructional has some takedowns that don't require hitting a knee and it's free :). Here it is payhip.com/b/LUDSE
