Really cool, love your style too. I noticed your run cycle has the right leg and arm moving forward and back with each other instead of a natural run cycle that has the right and left arms and legs moving opposite to each other.
So im a newb, so raster is pixelated using actualy single pixels, and vector doesnt? Is that correct? So would vector use half pixels or how does that work, vector is better at curves correct?
You can post your other artwork as well, I'd be glad to see more work from a talented individual such as you, and I think others would agree :) Also, do you use a pen and tablet for pixel art? Please share some basic setup as well :D
Is there a way i could talk to you in depth about advice going about making pixel art through my ipad and then exporting it to a software where im making a game? Do you have a discord that would be able to make this happen cause im a bit lost and need help.
I just found this while trying to get back into pixel art for a project (that honestly is probably too big for just me but who cares) I am so excited, your work looks amazing and you explain it so simply. Thank you and I hope you keep going!
Worth noting that colours in RGB/HSV are not uniformly bright to human eyes. Therefore you may find more success working in a system like OKLAB (or the HSV equivalent of that). RGB/HSV actually makes it harder to let go of some “beginner” mistakes, such as picking base colours of equal brightness. In HSB, blue and yellow of “equal” brightness will nonetheless contrast each other due to the non-uniformity mentioned before, making them work better for a colour palette than they “really should”. Working with OKLAB makes it super clear that a good palette makes use of both colour and brightness differences between colours. It’s certainly not required, but I’ve found it makes my mental process clearer.
Hey Pixel Overload! I just wanted to say that I really appreciate the hard work and effort that you put into your RU-vid videos! I often find myself coming back to watch them, not for the tutorial, but just to appreciate the art that you create. The imagery that you are able to create with pixel art is like nothing I've ever seen before, I admire and aspire to be able to create like you can one day. Anywho, just wanted to say thanks for all the hard work you do to share these videos with us, have a good one!
It's really good, but I feel like it's missing something, needs something shiny or very colorful. I don't know if you've seen Paul Robertsons work, but check it out. I think you could do stuff on that level.
Wonderful work!! You've inspired me to try to create one as well. Could you help me navigate through the texture templates so I can start designing a few new ideas? Thanks
