Videos from my thermal scopes and spotters as well as quick reviews on any other gear I buy for going out and about to do a bit of hunting down under here in Australia. Facebook - facebook.com/mrbhuntingdownunder/ Instagram - instagram.com/mrbhuntingdownunder/
Hi Mike, I’d recommend visiting your local shop and seeing your options, bears being large means most will do the job so best decide on a budget, lucky for me we don’t have them over here!
hey mate, how do you go about watching / downloading the footage from a ms30 thermal scope? i have footage on it but cannot acess it. my computer says the drivers need installing? pc can detect the scope but cannot access footage. thanks+
@@MrBHuntingDownUnder hey mate, thanks for reply. we can see the device once plugged into a computer but cannot access any type of recorded film files. it is my mates dad who owns the scope and doesnt have social media accs. so tryna help him out. wil have to look into it some more
No worries, check the model, it needs to be the 35R, or have the R after its number to have internal recording, if its first gen you won’t find anything
@@Lex0sEmployee with the first generation, you had to use the video out of the scope and connect to an external recorder to record, it was a pain in the ass lol
This is a very informative video with excellent information. The only thing it left me curious about was in the footage of the units being used I would like to know the approximate distances shown in each clip and ambient temperature. I know it's all relative but I just want to have realistic expectations.
Great video! Thanks! Does Pulsar axion xm30f will do the job for me? I'm not a hunter. I just want to watch animals in my countryside! Thanks one more time!
The most indirectly deceptive thing I've seen is with thermals that look like scopes and advertise high zoom. Correct me if I'm wrong, but there is NO thermal that has variable optical zoom.
There were several videos that claimed to show you how to restore these lines. This is the first one that I saw that actually showed how and made sense. My lines disappeared after my battery died. Thank you so much for setting the record straight!! Appreciate this very much.
You could just go to the Zoo if having a gun doesn't give you enough of an advantage. I didn't even know that it was legal to hunt at night, but perhaps only applies in Canada.@@MrBHuntingDownUnder
@@empirecases4128 well this is Australia, I only hunt at night, google fox in Australia and then you’ll see why I need the advantage, it’s all I hunt, no interest in visiting a zoo, but once you have all the facts, come back and comment again
I installed this optic on a crossman 760 air rifle.I have now shot the riffle around 500 times during target/plinking practice, and the ru-vid.comUgkxc4K63Fd5LglDMObu7-Bgapxp_ef0W8hE scope has done well. With this optic, I have neutralized around 30 pigeons that were invading one of my buildings. For my short range air rifle, I will continue to use this scope, but will be upgrading to a more powerful scope, when I buy a more powerful air rifle, in order to shoot at longer distance. For the money I have spent, this scope has truly been a great buy.
Man, you should have a tad of regard to your not-mothertongue followers. We can take the accent - somehow - but your rate of words per second is pretty high. Never mind subtitles, they're speeding away as you strafe with no mercy. No offence, but I'd say that you might collect more followers if only you could slow down a bit.
Thanks for the feedback, I provided subtitles and you can slow me down in playback options if you like, it’s hard to get out a lot of information in a short period without making a 30 minute video, but I’ll consider making shorter slower videos in the future
What’s the best handheld thermal monocular you recommend for around 1500$ give or take a few hundred . I want to beable to see people or animals in complete darkness from far away
"sometime a fox pop up in front of me and we both crapped ourselves" -- do you do stand up comedy as side hustle ? u r very funny. the information is clear and concise.
@@MrBHuntingDownUnder Hey thanks for the reply, I should specify a few things: is there any lag in the video that would be hampering, how do the optics perform in close ranges such as looking at the ground for obstacles while walking. Would the optics focus and show detail that close, or give motion sickness?
@jpod73 there’s no lag at all, manual focus, but think of it more like binoculars, you scan and move on, you don’t walk with it as such, you’d need a different 1:1 helmet mount thermal or similar for that.
@@MrBHuntingDownUnder thanks for the respsonse. so you would not recommend holding this up to your eye to traverse terrain in that case. could you recommend one that would fill that roll with great image quality?
Great information! Only thing that would've made it better would be to display text when talking about statistics. Being totally new to this subject, I didn't know most of the acronyms you mentioned. Nevertheless, great primer, particularly helpful to see the effects the statistical differences make to the real world picture. Thanks!
Damn this guy is good! Great video. I agree with your early on statement that having a thermal spotter to detect, then switch over to your rifle that has a night vision scope. I have this configuration now, as in the past, I sold my night vision scope and bought a thermal. I thought it was a huge mistake, as night vision is superior at identification I found. I then sold my thermal, re-purchased a night vision and bought a thermal spotter for detection only.
Interesting comment. I’ve been thinking the same after watching thermal shooting videos, I’d rather spot with thermal then switch to nv when in range. What NV did you end up getting second time around?
I guess it's just ME (Anyone else have this problem?) but..........that heavy Aussie accent and fast-talking got me. Understood about 10% of what you said. Was looking forward to a super-informational video on thermal scopes/spotters but had to bow out early. Bummer.......!!!! (Maybe you can slow down your speech a bit.........Will give you a "Thumbs Up" as I'd bet the video was otherwise worth it).
Hi John, in some situations it’s very handy, open paddock etc, if there’s trees and objects around then you can kinda gauge distance. My lrf is in the scope as that’s where it matters to me, final distance before shot if needed
@@MrBHuntingDownUnder Thank you. I could push the boat out and also buy a thermal scope but I was considering a night vision with a lrf. Any suggestions please. Mainly go after rabbits with a .22 but have been asked to go after the dogs with my .243. What would be your recommendations. Sorry to be demanding of your time but advice from an experiences person is much appreciated. Thank you.
@@johnwhite199 Hi John, I know a fair few people using the thermal and night vision setup and it works well for them. Rabbits are easy, dogs and the 243 will be dependent on distances, but id checkout all the big brands like Pulsar, HIK and Infiray. If you know anyone who has one I suggest you go out and have a good play, looking through them while out and about is very different from in the shop

Mr B, I am looking on getting either a Pulsar Axion 2 XG LRF or a Pulsar Helion 2 pro? $2000 difference between the two. Is the Helion a extra $2000 worth it? Have you used the new Pulsar Axion 2 XG yet?
Hey Werner, I am currently waiting for the Axion 2 LRF to come into stock so I haven't laid eyes on it yet, but the Helion will be better picture, but it also doesn't have a range finder, so you probably need to decide if you want a range finder, if so, then Axion, if not then how nice a picture do you want, and how much are you willing to spend? Both will do the job so this will be personal preference and a budget decision. Both are 2.5x base mag, axion is more compact if that matters to you.
