I am shocked today. I've not used the "new" particle system until this evening. I need it and opened. Wow I thought, different. I put the emitter, and some modeled objects to emitt as usual...but where is that f..ng show object option. There is not! I put my objects under the emitter but it doesn't work like it does last 20 years. How can I use my geometry inside emitter? I've only found the solution to put my objects under a cloner, to select the particle group as "object" inside cloner... What kind of ridiculous solution it is! I need a simple object in particle emitter. I watch tons of videos in 2x speed to find but everybody shows new "wonderful" emitter and how redshift can render particles. I do not want "particles". I want some geaometries emitted. What do I miss. Please someone tell me "you stupid, the classic option is there, put your objects under emitter and tick that ."
Hi man, great tutorial. I'm stuck at the xpresso part, using c4d 2024, i can't drag the objects (A & B, sphere 0 & 1) to the connector node, it doesn't let me...
I have a question about the new fields. Im using garagefarm to render longer animations. We can bake the tag but how about if i use the new fields outside of the tag? Lets sat I use it on a vertex map, can i still use a renderfarm?
I think I was one of the first to buy the bundle on August 16, but with taxes on France the price was $165 because $28 of tax. (I specify for the French). In any case, thank you for this plugin "1 new Signal"!!!
Thanks for this dry and effective guide through all the essential basics. Amazingly presented, structured and i love your attention to detail. Big up. Learning from you since years! Thx for that!
You make such a complex tutorial to achieve a normal result, while the GSG guys create simple and straightforward tutorials to achieve stunning effects. I highly recommend both of you reuniting, just like the good old days, for the benefit of the C4D community. Thank you both for your efforts in supporting us
Another fantastic episode. One of my favorite parts is the Redshift tip on how to make your own default material with a shelf of commonly used nodes. Huge time saver.
Even though I don't have a license right now it's just amazing to watch Chris work. It's like he's coming up with his own puzzles and solving them immediately in amazing ways.
I still use R21 as I purchased on a perpetual licence . Still works perfectly in windows 11. Maxon add many new features all the time but the reality is that no one uses all of them and many of them aren’t all they are cracked up to be. I think Maxon would be better off concentrating on being really excellent at a few things instead of trying to be the jack of all trades. It’s ended up with a lot of very average features that slow everything down. That’s why I stopped subscribing.
Hello my friend, I have a problem in this version. When I use Motion Track, when I place a video clip to track the movement of the camera, the video does not appear in the display area.
Chris, I'm not completely sure but I think the reason why you can't get the particles to hit the surface of the can is the particle radius is 1cm - which you can't see because you haven't enabled "Show Radius" in the group settings. I think it's the outer 'surface' (radius) of the particle that's hitting the can polys but you're only seeing the center of each particle which is _by default_ 1cm away - which seems to fit the scale of your can/scene.
Note: I think you have to use a math modifier to set the radius size - setting it in the emitter or group settings doesn't seem to do anything for me but adding the math modifier to the group and assigning the radius using that seems to work great - make the radius really small and the center of the particle will get closer to the surface ;)
Thanks a lot - inspirational as always. At approximately min 14:38 when you put the base cylinder that´s outside the cloner first into the list of Objects - the whole setup already worked fine for me without the rigid body tag on the static cylinder to be needed. Alternatively, I used the mograph selection tag selecting all clones except clone index 0, and fed the selection in the rigid body tag of the cloner to get a static base cylinder connected to the rest of the cylinders.
