Are you interested in technology, buffoonery, and overall goofiness?

If you answer yes, then you have arrived at the correct RU-vid channel.

Greetings all! My name is Liam Bull and I am a lover of technology, design, and creativity. I hope that this channel can serve as a perfect platform to express my interest in these three areas.

After this new patch, I physically cannot play with mods (at least asset mods, yet it could be all of them). The only way I find this game playable (at least for me), is with mods.

The always present sidebar is the killer feature, If you're a tab abuser like I am it reduces your cognitive load. Not worth the security risks though. They sponsor and advertise so hard that they must be making bank off its users to afford it and I don't like being a product.

I worked in graphic arts and started using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop when they were first launched in the early 1990. Even before that it was Adobe PostScript technology which allowed scalable type on the first Apple LaserWriter printer I purchased for the USIA Printing Division where I worked. I became an expert user and teacher of Photoshop as it evolved and became more feature rich but stopped upgrading my personal license at CS5 when the subscription business model was first introduced. Shortly before that I’d upgraded to a 2007 iMac (the first aluminum model) and my Canon camera to a 15MP 50D which was more than adequate for the non-professional studio portrait and PJ-style photography work I was doing at the time and still have both. Starting in 2012 when I purchased a 1080p iPad3 I started shooting and editing videos on it, posting them on RU-vid instead of shooting and spending hours editing still in Photoshop. I only upgraded camera and computer this year - M2 Mac Mini and Canon R6mkII - because I decided to shoot birds and other wildlife. For photo editing on the Mac Mini I opted for Affinity Photo 2, at a one-time cost of $70, and DaVinci Resolve Studio with the BlackMagic Speed Editor controller ($395) to share my photos in slideshow fashion on RU-vid on my channel. Hopefully enough consumers will protest by buying alternative programs that companies will abandon the subscription model and their Big Brother desire to track what users do with their products.

It seems there might be a fundamental misunderstanding regarding the Steam Deck in your review. The touchpads on the Steam Deck are among its standout features, offering a significant improvement over traditional controller navigation in menus. If this aspect isn’t apparent to you, it raises concerns about whether the Steam Deck is the right device for you to review, as it appears you might not be within the target audience. Given that you don’t seem to use the back buttons or the touch screen, it’s unclear what aspects of the Steam Deck you find valuable. Regarding the design, calling it "ugly" seems off the mark. It actually has a sleek and modern appearance. Comparing it to a family console is particularly perplexing-this comparison makes me question whether your review is intended to be taken seriously. Your comments on verified games also miss the mark. The Steam Deck is a versatile portable PC that can even run Windows, which should be considered in your assessment. Additionally, the "kinks" you mentioned are not the reason Steam Deck sales haven’t surpassed Switch sales. It’s similar to why the most sold Lamborghini ever hasn’t overtaken the Toyota Prius in terms of sales-it’s about different markets. The Switch is a home, family console, while the Steam Deck is a personal portable gaming machine designed for a specific audience: PC gamers and Steam users seeking portability. Comparing it to the Nintendo Switch or even the PS5 and Xbox seems illogical given their differing target markets. Overall, the review reflects a misunderstanding of the Steam Deck’s purpose and audience. While personal opinions on design are subjective, the review doesn’t adequately address the Steam Deck’s intended use or its market position. This review falls short in providing a clear and informed perspective on the device.

I'm not defending Adobe general, but this video is glossing over how a bought versions become uselessly dated and needed to be upgraded. This is no small thing. One may be able to make files useful to themselves in a non-commercial, non-professional manner, like a basic garage sale sign. But it being up to date is crucial if sharing/deal with anyone else with current software or current computers. This software isn't meant to be locked in time and to think one can stubbornly use ancient copies of software indefinitely is frankly childish. All software ages, this is a moving thing, not stationary. This isn't a car you can see if you can impress your friends to go past 300K miles. Aspects of the files high end features utterly incompatible to others. Sometimes they would open wrong or even not at all by others on current systems. You end up on an island alone. Your finished files are at greater and greater risk of being unusable to others. I worked in a modest art department at the time this transition took place, and knowing we didn't have the luxury to sit unchanging on copies of software, the subscription was a great thing, because we were forever current. Software updates/upgrades were not only not a huge problem, they instantly disappeared into the background. And saved the company tons, because unlike how this video portrays it being cheaper to buy it, it was not cheaper to those who had to keep current. By a MILE! Anyway, most of the other complaints in this video are very true. But the cost comparison across subscribing versus owning is just hamfisted bullcrap.

I either have deja vu or watched this video before, maybe even commented… but as I already started writing the comment and don't see o having old one there I'll post it. So, actually I think it's rather easy to tell what's actual and original identity is, it consist of a few things: - pixelated graphic style - blockiness of the world - big freedom of what to do and how to play - simplicity - they may be things that seems complex, but they ale break down to simple in game elements - being interrconnected - pretty much all mechanics are in some way help the other, or make it better (like enchanting makes mining better etc.) or are related in any other way. Nothing is a lone island. And it is all kept in modern Minecraft(after all... the new graphics are still in pretty much the same more pixelated style. Just more clean. Though to me too it take some times to get used to new graphics... one of the hardest part were wheat, granite, andesite, diorite, netherrack and glowstone. Frankly the thing that make me change to new graphic was how much uncompatible were nylium blocks with old netherrack(which I still preffer)). Which does change, sure, but mostly for the better. New structures are big part of that (though there are 2 I don't really like so much - Woodland mansion, because it feels like just so out of place with its completely different scale than other structures; and Bastions, because they often a big mess, kinda feeling like they couldn't choose if they are more like a cave or more like a structure) Though yeah some of the new additions seems a bit detached/halfbacked at times which kinda stray from the last element I mentioned... but it's still a minor issue. Well there is also one issue of some simply stupid pieces of Mojang mindset in regard of minecraft. Like straight up lying that vertical slabs woud inhibit creativity(I mean noone could realistically be THIS stupid), or that sleepbag would be bad becaus "they take away uniquness of the bed" and thing like that. Also the stronge prefference towards kinda "forcing" player to not kill new passive mobs (by making them not really drop anything... while in few cases they definitely should!) And I think that the worst part about often half-backed mobs is not just how limited drop/use cases they have, but also with how obvious the improvement to them seems (sniffer is definitely a prime exampe here). Also progression… isn't really and issue. The issue are people who see it as the goal of minecraft, while progression is simply means to and end(I mean even for a sandbox we can just say progression can mean anything... that would make the word kinda meaningless). And is for the most part optional. You don't want to bother gathering iron? (even though even in worst cases it take just about hour to get full iron armor and basic tools) You can just do with stone tools and build things from wood and rocks. You want to conquer the end get netherite etc? Sure You can - in mosty situation - get to diamonds and enchanting quickly. You want to kill the dragon quick? You can. (Even ridiculously fast with speedrunning but where's the fun in that?) But you can also do is slower or just never. It's a sandbox after all so all options are equally valid. No matter if it would be done on peaceful, hardcore or whatever in between. Player can go through progression fast or take it as slow as he/she wants to. And that is part of the beauty of minecraft.

I have quit the subscription. There are many alternatives: - Photoshop: Affinity photo, Gimp, CorelDRAW - Illustrator: Affinity design, CorelDRAW - After effects: Davinci resolve, Blender - Premiere: Finalcut Pro, KDEnlive - Media encoder: VLC (yes it has an included converter tool), ffmpeg The the entire remaining Adobe software is only gibberish in binary form.

I've spent literally so much money on their products man. adobe express has better video assets than premiere and allows you to do voiceovers. I can't edit the audio, I can't add keyframes, it's so frustrating. Then they get you with the all in one for 60 a month to use EVERY piece of software which isn't true. They limit your asset credits in adobe premiere pro and THEN if you even get monetized (halfway there 🤞) you have to keep paying the subscription to use the assets in your video.

Got to loge developers getting rid of all the DLC fearures sold in the previous game. Taking a huge step back. Like, the sequel should have ALL the features of the full DLC version of the first game. Not vanilla 1st game. So tired of sequels taking a huge step back in features and mechanics.

The saddest thing about this is that Adobe used to be a fantastic company when I first used them in the 1990s. They really were the best then, when John Warnock and Chuck Geschke were still involved in the company. These were proper computer scientists & developers who were responsible for the Postscript language and the PDF file format, or Carousel as it was originally known. John Warnock even has a graphics processing algorithm named after him. Once they retired and the suits took over that was it. I first used Illustrator 2 and Photoshop 3 and having been a long time user of QuarkXpress switched immediately to InDesign 1.0. It’s so sad what has happened. It’s a similar story with Hewlett-Packard. They were also the best in their day - their printers were reliable and just kept going. I still have an old Laserjet that works just fine, not that I do much printing these days. Then again the suits took charge and the good days were over. I haven’t had any Adobe products for years now - it’s Pixelmator Pro, Affinity Designer and PDF Expert now. All great products.
