To understand how difference between the gospels actual verify the gospels, listen to some of J Warner Wallace's talks at cold-case Christianity. J was a cold case detective for many years in LA. He learned that authentic eye witnesses always bring out different details. So, difference tell us that we are hearing from authentic eyewitnesses.
There are no contradictions in the bible. The different timelines the writers witness some accounts and the individual way the writers wrote contributed to the minor perceived difference in the accounts, but the message and narrative has no difference nor discripancies.
Evolution is not true in any sense when you take the hole you get the lie therefore, none of it's true…! Evolution is based completely on a lie! And that is provable therefore, evolution in any sense is not True
Universalism is absolutely correct, everyone eventually goes to heaven; to say otherwise is either to claim that there are some who are excluded from God’s love, which would make it conditional and finite, or it would be to claim that God’s love is no match for the resistance of reprobate sinners, which would effectively render God to be less powerful than evil. Unfortunately, universalism is commonly misunderstood as everyone gets to go to heaven when they die, BUT after death, and certainly before going to heaven, there is judgement, in which everything within us that is not in harmony with God’s love needs to be burned away by the purification of God’s loving light and fire. It will be a time when we experience all of the anguish we caused others by our actions for which we have not repented and sought forgiveness. This will very likely be a painful process of terrible torment for those responsible for mass slaughter, like Stalin and Hitler. I cannot even begin to imagine what it would be like for Hitter to experience the anguish of the six million Jews who were exterminated in the gas chambers, not to mention the anguish of their surviving relatives, and the children of the survivors. People like Hitter do not get a free pass into heaven, but neither are they permanently excluded. As for reincarnation: it can safely be said that there is only incarnation. Cases where children claim to have past life memories which prove to be accurate are not evidence of reincarnation but are actually evidence of possession or overshadowing of the child by a spirit. We are not spirits in bottles which are refilled into new bottles like some sort of genie, confined for a time within a body, only to wind up in another one after death. Thank you for this excellent and informative discussion of a topic that is essential in our materialistic age of spiritual disintegration.
I've been involved in many years of Christian education and participation in a variety of religions. I never found Christianity to be so much a "faith" as a call to action to follow the example of Christ. Never before has there been a such a need for Christians to follow the example of Christ in their public life. How can they be supportive of the likes of Trump when he is the opposite of Christ?
What they mean by contradiction ,do they mean that Mathew give view of Jesus opposite of that why have Luk Marc and John and viz versa ? If no it is redicoul to say they have contradiction
What you put in on this side you will reap on the other. Who you know on this side you will know on the other. Jesus made a way for us all but God judges the heart no matter the religion. So if you have a relationship with Jesus and ultimately God on this side your experience on the other side will be different than someone who merely went through life being “a good person”. I think there are different levels of places in heaven. So not everyone is going to experience the same thing. It’s going to be individualized and you can’t leave out anomalies. They are just as important. And you can’t disprove firsthand accounts on RU-vid because they don’t fit a mold.
When I was a little girl a neighbor named Mr. Dobbs took my portrait in pastels. He finished it off by putting a little, white bow in my hair. This was an accurate representation of me, but there was no actual bow in my hair, and the pastel style isn't like a photograph. But, it was me! This is how we can look at the Bible as a whole. It's an accurate representation of God, so we needn't worry so much about minutiae that does't take away from His character. Don't "strain out a gnat and swallow a camel".
I grew up with strong beliefs and teachings from church and other Christians that the Bible actually taught a young earth. The fact are the Bible doesn’t teach it at all. Also for every one who believe in YE, (especially after studying Greek and Hebrew) that YE is a theory based on a few massive assumptions. There isn’t a way around it in scripture. I’ve come to learn to humble myself with reading ancient texts. Be humble and give into humility with certain things that were not the authors intentions. Sad thing is that a lot of Christian’s force this belief and will condemn you as rejecting Gods word. Such pride and lack of study.
This is a great interview. I'm in the Refiner's fire right now. I'm the midst of Abba's perfect timing and plan, which includes a great deal of pain and challenges; I am totally dependent upon Him. I cannot do anything on my own strength anymore, because that has been taken from me. My main idol has been being so capabale and adaptable that I can get through anything and not needing anyone else's help. That has been totally upended.
They didn't have audio recorders back then but Jesus and the apostles travelled to many many towns in Israel with Jesus giving the same teachings over and over again. Jesus also sent the 12 and the 72 out on their own. Presumably they knew Jesus' message well enough to repeat it on their trips. I realised after attending one particular healing evangelist's meetings frequently. Each time his message was a bit different but there was a lot of overlap and after a while I could have quoted a lot of what he said over time.
Also, Dr. Gallagher mentions that these are fallen angels, yet the book of Enoch tells us that demons are the disembodied spirits of the Nephilim. Please explain
@seanmcdowell This interview leaves me confused. Are you admitting the Catholic Church has the power to exercise demons? Is it not a cult that is filled with idolatry. Please explain
From jesus is a human to jésus is an equal of god from allah have no equal to god had an equal knowing the truth and then deny it You know exactly that life is a moral competition and all contestants are human you know that allah had no equal and he is the judge not a competitor You know if the judge enter the game it would be unfair you know it all because you were à muslim i çan excuse christians if they dont but you know it very well Just make that sink in who is sound more like à god to you the one who had no equal or the one who had an equal
Last night my wife watched this interview ~ so inspiring to learn Adam’s story and his current heart for Jesus ~ I have sent the link to several friends. I read the first edition of Evidence Demands a Verdict and it encouraged me to read more Bible and more Christian books. It enabled me to not only love God with all my Heart and Soul but enabled me to love God with all my mind. Regarding Adam’s ending question, a few books that really encouraged me were ~ ETERNITY IN THEIR HEARTS, how isolated people groups have been prepared for the Gospel before missionaries told them the story, by Don Richardson THE DISCOVERY OF GENESIS, Chinese characters actually reveal many of the stories in Genesis, by C.H. Kang & Ethel R. Nelson THE REAL MEANING OF THE ZODIAC, God named the stars, and they reveal the Gospel, by D. James Kennedy PEACE CHILD, A true story of a missionary family living with cannibals, by Don Richardson JOHN NEWTON: From Disgrace to Amazing Grace, very comprehensive story of John Newtons full live. by Jonathan Aitken. The several books I read about John Newton prodded and inspired me to illustrate a Graphic Novel of Newton’s story: THE YOUNG JOHN NEWTON, The prodigal young man who wrote the most famous song in the world, “Amazing Grace” ~ I think it is an amazing story that will speak well to the young prodigals of our world . . . and the old prodigals too!
By definition these are "near death" experiences. There is a historical account of someone who was actually dead for three days and came back, ask him.
I do not know how Sean can keep a straight face with this guy. Preston is dead wrong and cannot debate truth because he denies the truth of the Bible. Praise the Lord for people like Sean McDowell. He gives me such hope!
Who taught the disciples to write in this format of the ancients...they were Jews. If we remove the "divne" from the influence of the writen word...then we will question the divinity, doctrin, and teachings of Jesus. For..."He"may or may not have said that, or may have said it differently. Creating a reasonable doubt. God wanted the preservation of the Truth exactly as we have . We don't have the originals but we do have a wealth of manuscript to pull from and with out any doubt we can see the work of the Holy Spirit. If we belief that it is a spiritual kingdom then at some point we must believe that the Spirit will open our eyes to the writen truth and feed us spiritual food. Thank God for the Bible.
I never understood the differences in the gospels until 2 years ago when the Lord led me to watch Alain's videos on his YT channel Ministry Revealed. This was the revelation I was missing and all my questions were answered.
My wife and I watched this interview last night ~ very inspiring, Thank you Sean McDowell and Adam Curry. I read the first Evidence Demands a Verdict and it helped me greatly to Love Jesus not only with my heart and soul but with my mind also. With respect to Adam's question about recommendations for books, books that helped me greatly were ETERNITY IN THEIR HEARTS, How isolated people groups have been prepared for the Gospel before missionaries told them the story, by Don Richardson THE DISCOVERY OF GENESIS, Chinese characters actually reveal many of the stories in Genesis, by C.H. Kang & Ethel R. Nelson THE REAL MEANING OF THE ZODIAC, God named the stars and they reveal the Gospel, by D. James Kennedy PEACE CHILD, A true story of a missionary family living with cannibals ,by Don Richardson JOHN NEWTON: From Disgrace to Amazing Grace,Very comprehensive story of John Newtons full live. by Jonathan Aitken. THE YOUNG JOHN NEWTON, The prodigal young man who wrote the most famous song in the world, “Amazing Grace” ~ Graphic Novel (this is my own indie published book ~ I would love to see someone make a quality movie out of John Newton's amazing story)
It's like flying around anywhere on earth and way beyond in a thought used to have o.b.e alot there is a place a white light that hums and vibrates feels like love and home to me seen it once.
I’m not sure what the point of this episode is. It sounds like he said you can’t believe what is written in John. Am I wrong on this? There’s no way I’m reading his book. I’m actually more confused now. I seriously doubt any of the Gospel authors were using any techniques .
I've had issues with some of Licona's ideas for a while. He seems to do mental gymnastics on this subject. That's not to say that he's wrong on every example, but certainly his idea of inerrancy is foreign to me.
@@sorenpx At one point in this episode, Licona does this double speak of using part of John then later he says, discard this other part. He basically said that one of the gospels is made up. Did I misunderstand?
Paul's letters were the first and they were written by a guy who never knew Jesus. He had an "experience". So that's as credible as anyone you heard of whonhad a mystical experience. And the other ones where up to 70 years after Jesus and non were written by eye witnesses. AND they contradict in several ways and there are gospels not in the bible that were Canon for first and second century Christians. Soooo ya
Something mentioned in the beginning of this video but was quickly glossed over was the issue of divorce. There’s a ton of divorce and remarriage within the church, and not always because cheating. Are Christians as concerned about the adultery committed daily by these 2nd marriages? It seems like the Catholic Church is the only one that has any consistency on this.
QUESTION: How do you define the inerrancy of the Bible in light of the greater differences and interpolations in our Bible today (e.g 1 John 5:7 and the “pericope adulterae”) ?
If you regard those passages as authentic, then it's a matter of modern scholars simply being wrong in their assessment (though the latter is found in most Bibles).
It is helpful to distinguish between inerrancy and preservation. Inerrancy usually refers to the original text not to modern reconstructed copies (or to paraphrases, bad translations and commentaries). It is however also true that the text has been preserved well enough that we know with high certainty what the originals said and what was changed or added later, which is why you know that the story of the woman caught in adultery was probably not in the original text. The fact that you know it does not undermine inerrancy. Similarly one could argue that everything that Jesus said was inerrant, but most of it is lost to time (no preservation). If you're interested in preservation perhaps look up the work of Dan Wallace. I would also recommend the work of James White for a broader understanding of how this should impact our theology.
Thank you for having Dr.Henry Cloud on!!! I was in one of the Minirth/Meier clinics in 1996 having been diagnosed with severe depression, The first book in our sessions was going over, reading and studying Changes that Heal. I had at that time been a Christian for 20 years and thought I was doing all the right Christian things and continued to spiral and at that time the stigma of mental health brought on shame, The 1st thing the Drs told us was that we were the bravest people out there for getting help. It has taken years for me to accept that I struggle with some mental health issues, but…I no longer carry shame, and am and will be on my medications ,I call them (brain vitamins) and thank God for them !!!! This is how I see how my Loving Father takes good care of me 😊Looking forward to reading Dr.Clouds book. P.S Sean, I rembember yourDad’s comment on Changes that Heal 😊Bless you and the ministry you share with so many ❤
