Man that Co host (not the main lead) but that back up guy was Stoned man~and WTF We wanted to see Barnett Pass Ward...HOW? WHy DID YOU NOT SHOW IT BUT YET U RANT AND RAVE IT?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bell I think won titlle cause Honda was still 2 years away from being awesome bikes close but not close enough, had the motors though pulled every holeshot!!
I was 11 then….my buddy’s dad drove us up there from PA in their Trans Am. He let us walk over to gravity cavity on our own….whoa that crew was an eye opener for an 11yr old lol!! I’m not sure what smell was stronger, premix or weed lol.
Just found this - I could not have been standing too far from the camera as I saw this crash - then went to the grandstands on the main straight and saw John Morton collide with Geoff Brabham in the pits, taking them both out. Tambay who was at best a 4th place car that day ended up winning and I ran into Danny Sullivan after the race, leaning on a fence from exhaustion. When I told him he finished 2nd, adrenaline kicked in and he forgot how tired he was.....
My brothers, some friends and I went to several Unadilla races around that time. I'm 67 now. The first one we went to Kent Howerton won the 250 race. If that's this race I was in that crowd somewhere. Those were great times. Gravity Cavity. Screw You Hill. The "show us your tits" signs on one side of gravity cavity and the girls flashing their titties on the other side of the hill. We'd stay at the KOA campground nearby. The good old days.
first year running pro. i walked that track day before and it looked to be like a cow pasture smooth. then in morning practice next day the silt in all the holes came out and it became a whooped out monster. one of the roughest tracks i ever raced besides florida
Thanks for this! There are not very many videos of this track in operation online, especially in color. I first heard about this track from a video on abandoned NASCAR tracks (I should add that it was an NR2003 video of all things.) So NASCAR is the only reason I know of this track's existence. I look of the cars shown in the video though.
@@jeffjones5063fact check..jobe never won unadilllla. Howerton won there overall in ‘79 & 80…rolling jobe and every other euro in the process. the only euro to ever win there was Kees van der van in ‘82..unless you wanna count Englishman Neil Hudson in ‘81.. the Americans owned unadilla…
I think with today’s technology someone should put some sound to this video would be so coolI love the sound of motocross bikes probably my favorite noise of all time even more favorite then Led Zeppelin
I was there, I think the kid with the camera and napsack at 7:00 is actually ME! Anyway, the Autotrix Mazda I think is driven by Randy Pollak, and on I've never seen anyone take the turn 1 downhill the way he did; sideways and under power the whole way, scary fast! But in a different Mazda than this one.
I was there a few weekends ago. It’s horrifying to see how they’ve destroyed this track. All the narrow switchbacks like the one shown here are gone, the track is a boing uniform width throughout its length and it is as flat as route 8. I’m glad I got to see it in its heyday.
Hannah is flying. when I think of Hannah I think of Honda. he probably sees his 70's years as his best but when I see this, on that HRC factory bike, it's bliss.
I always equate the Hurricane with his long association with Yamaha. I thought him a traitor when he went to Honda. Bike/factory loyalties can run deep! I've always favored Yamaha, especially the 2 stroke GP Road racers, and King Kenny Roberts.
Maybe only the 917-30 was faster with more than double the hp! Loved the Citicorp/Budweiser Can Am! Much more competitive than the original. The cars looked and sounded great! CART showing up on road courses was its downfall in my opinion. A lot of the top Can Am teams went to CART.
Good call on those support class riders . All along I thought 27 was Guerra and 36 Jonathan Keller.I was gonna call you out but I definitely needed to check the facts. You were 100% correct sir.your the man up here in this piece. A dios ,amigo..
Bob EFFING Hannah. The hurricane. There will NEVER be another motocross superstar like Hannah. 1979 Bob Hannah would beat ANY OTHER Motocross rider from ANY OTHER time. PROVE ME WRONG. I dare you!
