At Guide Dogs of America, we transform lives through partnerships with service dogs. We breed, raise, and train guide dogs for individuals who are blind/visually impaired and service dogs for veterans and children with autism. We also place facility dogs with professionals in hospitals, schools, and courtrooms. Our highly skilled canines become trusted companions that increase people’s confidence, mobility, and independence. All programs and services, including transportation, personalized training, room/board, and postgraduate support, are provided at no cost to the recipient.

As a service dog handler and partner with my beautiful black Labrador retriever girl Darcy Athena, this hits home! Darcy isn’t an organization raised & trained SD. I rescued her from a situation that could have gone badly for her if I hadn’t had a referral for a accidental litter that was going to whoever had the cash. She wasn’t a SD prospect until she was about 10 months old, and she started naturally alerting to my PTSD Symptoms. I did lots of research, got lots of help ad support from other SD trainers, SD owner trainers, we both put in lots of hard work, time, love, fun, learning so much from each other, bonding deeper than I have ever experienced with any prior pet dogs, & 2 years later….. she and I became a fully trained SD team forever. ❤ We both have changed each other’s lives for the better! Honestly tho….. she’s changed me & given me so much more that’s I could possibly live her! She’s spoiled with every luxury, love, adventures, and nobody will ever even think about hurting her without going thru her Momma Bear! ❤
I am hoping I can get my match very ,very very Soon. I love the pups and all who is so loving involved. Ahhh Weeer Sweet ! ❤is there any way I could get one sooner than 2 years ?
